Ordinaire is not going to become my personal favourite . I mean I can imagine Celine singing it, I doubt they will change much concerning the arrangement.

 

Oh I hope so much Encore un soir is going to become the gem everybody expects it to be. Somehow I fear that people/ fans are going to be disappointed just because they expect too much.

Just because you've chosen to "accept it" doesn't mean I and others must. Plus, it doesn't have to be "just the way it is." I will always maintain it is artistic laziness to resort to covers for an album unless that is the album's theme.

 

Her making covers is her trademark, her strength. Her uniqueness. She transcends classic song because she is a classic artist.

She interprets songs that are here to be sung. There is the world songbook to be played around.

She is so right with this song, like she was with many other before. Why? Because the songs fit her, her spirit, her soul. And that's what is the most important when you are a musician. That you connect with the song.

If my memory is correct, thinking of sans attendre didn't they release the first single around first of July and we got the album in Nov? So about 4 months. If they follow a similar time table we could have album at the end of Sept. Aldo did say fall. Just wondering aloud I guess.

I agree. Seems like she has time in September to promote the album.

 

The second option will be to release it in late November and promote it during December which seems unlikely cause it would require Celine flying back to France.

I have been very vocal on this forum and a big champion for ALL new orginal material, but when have we ever had a album without a cover? Never, that won't change now... So save the fireworks for IF the say cover becomes a single.

Really makes me laugh when some people bang on about covers etc, considering most of her covers we wouldn't even know they've been recorded before if it wasn't for the internet 😂 good old Wikipedia etc 😂😂

I've said it before. A cover to me is of a song where I know the original or another version before Celine's. Like TPOL, ABM,TFTEISYF etc. Most of her covers I hadn't a clue they were covers, and don't consider them to be, because her version is the first version I've heard. 😆

I didn't mean it as if you did already start "fireworks" . I meant it as in we all know the album will have at least one cover, I like you don't like the idea of to many cover songs but let's wait and see before we DO start fireworks. You never know maybe the cover song becomes your favorite. At the end of the day it's a song, it has lyrics and it maay transcend to the audience. Let's wait until we hear the finished production before if we decide if it's good or bad. That's my opinion tho, you may say however you feel that your right of course.

We also need to consider that songs are just not written as well as they used to be. I'd prefer a cover of a great song over an original, less than mediocre song.
