In just 2 weeks, we'll have this new song.

And I think that from next weeks, the informations are going to follow one another. As well about the album as about the tour.

I'm surprised it's not posted here yet. The writer and singer of the song Ordinaire Robery Charlebois confirmed Celine recorded his song for the new album!

Haters are gonna hate but I listened to it and I thought it is a marvellous songs and very fitting for her right now! I hope she'll include it in the tour!! Love the old French dramatics! :wub2:

With a proper production this song can be great for the album!

ya the lyrics:

i'm just an ordinary guy (she will change it)

sometimes i don't want to do anything

i would smoke weed, i would drink beer (it will be funny).

i wonder if Robert charlebois had a big succes with it in France, but it is a great song. And the rest of the lyrics are very fitting for Celine. And with her voice, it will be great.

That song does sound marvelous!! :wub2: I can't wait to hear it with her vocals. It would work quite well as the show closer if they want to change the PQTME encore. I love the sound of it!

she doesn't do so much cover in french, there was two on the last album, maybe three if you count the Plamondon song, and it was a first. It is a superb song, and i think it will be a chance for youger people to discover it. Edited by québecflower

I think is safe to say that both the French and English albums will include at least 1 cover song, let's be real here, soak it in, process it, and accept it. It's just the way it is. It's the way it has always been and probably always be. Edited by Nmj

Just because you've chosen to "accept it" doesn't mean I and others must. Plus, it doesn't have to be "just the way it is." I will always maintain it is artistic laziness to resort to covers for an album unless that is the album's theme.

Sans Attendre is such an amazing album. A theme album, the core of which were the original songs and then 4 covers (if you count NMQP) that were beautifully sung!

I hope the new album is just as good...!

I have been very vocal on this forum and a big champion for ALL new orginal material, but when have we ever had a album without a cover? Never, that won't change now... So save the fireworks for IF the say cover becomes a single.

Since 2007. D'elles had no covers.

You may change your mind once you hear the song and read the lyrics. I understand your point about covers however some songs are so powerful that I think it's ok to cover them.

I don't think it's lazy when a song and it's lyrics speak to you. It's a powerful song with meaningful lyrics.

I agree. The covers will always be there. I as well have been vocal about the fact that Celine has had way too many covers. And I still believe that she's at her best when recording/singing original songs. I think any sort of debate should be saved for when we actually listen to what Celine did with this song. Now it is way too early. Remember Que Toi Au Monde? The version of Celine sounds nothing like the original. She took the song to a different place, and I love both versions.

Oh wow! Thrilled and very pleasantly surprised she's doing this. What a brave move. I mean, there's no beating around the bush in that song. Very direct and very revealing of her to take this on. Says a a lot. I can't wait to hear her version of it.

I have a feeling this will be by far Celine's most personal album yet.

Yeah, well, it's about to be legalized thanks to our new prime minister, so no biggie! ;)

There's this CBC Radio show called A propos, which celebrates Quebecois songwriters and often does English translations of the lyrics.

You can listen to their translation of Ordinaire, as read by songwriter Jim Corcoran: http://www.cbc.ca/pl...play/1592761303

Alternate link here: http://www.cbc.ca/ap...ert-charlebois/

Celine always chooses such fabulous poetic songs in French... I so wish she did the same in English. Sigh.

She does have quite a few gems in her English repertoire though.

Agreed. But not nearly as many as in French.

But it's completely understandable that she's more attuned to the nuances of her first language (same way I instinctively 'get' old Polish much more so than Shakespearean-era English, despite the latter being my primary language for a long time now). I think it's entirely natural.
