I'm very happy for the winner, this is a great chance really to have your song sung by Celine, but yet if I had the chance to pick the one, I'd pick the song of Julien Assayah 'Je te donnerai tout'. My boyfirend who doesn't give a thing for Celine was just fooling aroung while I was into the process of listening to all the vote for songs and I really liked that song by Julien Assayah and it was the very same moment when my boyfriend happened to be somewhere close and he was like 'i love the song, what's that?'. He never even knew it was a poll for a new Celine sung song.

Congratulations to the writer of the winning song. It wasn't my first choice because as I have written many times already on this forum, I really wanted either, Comment savoir or Frere et soeur de son to win. I'm sure I will love the song once I hear the final product and with Celine's vocals attached to it!

 

I wonder if any of those other songs will make it onto the album though? I would love to hear Comment savoir or Frere et soeur de son. Maybe, depending on how close the votes were, maybe they will decide to add 1 or 2 more songs of those unknown songwriters to the album.

 

It would be nice if her team let another unknown songwriter's name be attached to the new album. I think there are a couple other songs from those demos that had potential. I guess we will have to wait and see what her team decides to do with those remaining songs.

About the only place to buy her French albums in the US is her Vegas store or ordering one from Amazon.

 

Most people in the US do not think about her Francophone career or discuss it (and the average person has no clue she was basically a child star. They know she started young, but do not really get the level of success she had so quickly).

 

It's really too bad. Her Francophone career is legendary. I wish the US took more notice of it.

 

In the beginning of having both careers, the choice was deliberate. It gave her more freedom to start in the English market. No images were really associated with her. A blank slate. Who knows why it continued. I am sure it was thought out. But I still wish her French albums were easier to get here (iTunes has almost nothing).

I agree. Most people in the US don't know much about the early success she had in her French career. At 13 years old she was already making $100,000 per year. That's more than anyone on this forum makes as an adult, or more than the average adult salary in USA, during their entire life time. And that was only when she was a kid At 19 years old for example, Mariah was bussing tables in a restaurant.

No this song wasn't one of them! But of course people are always (welcome to) summiting to Céline!
