The sooner the better. I wonder when we'll get the single though... The 6th of March is quite soon and they shouldn't wait long but, at the same time, it wouldn't be wise to release a single in Xmas period... Dunno... We should also learn album's title soon then

it would be quite nice to have a documentary in English about recording a French Album for a change.

 

I mean, why not? In this way she could reach a bigger audience, and they could add French subtitles if they want.

 

It has always been such a pity that I was never able to understand what they say in french behind the scenes of music Videos or recording sessions in the DVDs. So please Aldo think of the non French speaking Fans who also want to enjoy this Material and provide some Kind of assistance, such as subtitles. Be modern and dont let the Fans subtile Celines material

I agree. I hate when they put out French documentaries with no English subtitles, but have French subtitles for English releases. Its time to stop the French favoritism crap. Lets be International here. Its 2015. Of course this has nothing to do with Celine but her management team.

haha yes. It seems that whatever your mother tongue is, when people sing in English they always adapt this New York sort of accent. You know like never pronouncing the ''R"s in words but instead a "aw" sound, like "whateva" and "New Yawk" etc

The only thing I was good at at School was French because of Celine and constantly looking at the dictionary to translate her french songs....

 

I kind of let learning french go by the wayside for a few years but have started going to an evening class once a week to improve....I would love to become fluent but think that to learn fluently i'd have to live in an area where its the main language to be dropped in at the deep end....

Didn't Aldo say that 3 songs were finished? Maybe he means they're actually completely finished,cos if he did mean that then celine could have recorded her vocals for more than 3 songs. It's just they're not finished completely yet.

Truthfully, my one real wish for this album - whatever the music turns out to be - is that they release it in the US. And other non-Francophone markets. Acknowledge that Celine has a loyal, caring fanbase for the French material outside of Quebec, France and Belgium. It makes me so sad that the rest of the world never really got to know Sans Attendre, d'Elles, etc. All such great work, yet Sony insists on pretending it doesn't exist beyond a handful of borders. Like somebody said in another thread - it's like the her French career is taboo outside these few markets. Why not embrace it, celebrate it, and acknowledge that she's even more of a legend in French than she is in English? I just don't get why they don't leverage that. Boggles the mind.

Sans Attendre sold about 1.5m copies and so did LMBTL, maybe 1.6m. These figures have been accurate, not sure if there has been any update though.

 

It's clear that SA is smash seller and LMBTL just a decent one. SA sold well in all countries it was released/promoted while LMBTL was a hit or miss.

maybe they learned a lesson from it and will release the upcoming French album worldwide, not just in Francophone countries. It becomes a trend nowadays to play French or Spanish music on the radio (even here in Germany)

I still believe that the album/singles/sales etc for LMBTL would have been different and more successful if Rene hadn't got ill only a few weeks after the release.

Such a shame. It was great here though - there was a buzz again. Hearing people (especially non-fans) talking about Celine again was 💖 😀👍

I agree. I have been thinking though that Rene had lost his direction with this particular album. Even during mid 2013 the album had no concept and there was that awkward statement in that TV interview that the album is titled WAAF because ''it's the opposites''. I strongly belive he knew how to handle her French career still but got a bit lost in today's Anglophone market. I hope Aldo has a clearer vision!

I think LMBTL was last updated to be at 1.700.000 copies and that's amazing nowadays. Better than Mariah's and other 90s rivals releases...

Yeah I do know what you mean. It always seemed to me that Rene was a bit scared of Celine trying something new and moving with the times. Almost "if it's not broke" type of situation.

And I think we all agree that when they halted the album to change direction (partially!), then they should have gone the whole hog and released the lv concept first, then continued recording to make the entire LMBTL album like the first half.

 

I have high hopes with Aldo, and Celine, with the next 2 albums. I think Celine is beginning to realise that we don't expect perfect live vocals night after night, that she can have fun, that she is still relevant within the music industry, that she can have great ideas, that she can write her own songs. ETC! We just want her! With the woman she is, her talent and ability always shines through.

Think she's finally realising and believing the fact that we stand right by her.

One final thing 😅 hoping Aldo listens to celine and her ideas. Just thinking about Celine wanting to open with MHWGO and Rene saying no.

Oh Mariah is a non-factor. Her doing well or not is not criteria to say whether Celine did well or not.

 

Regarding the chart success of LMBTL I still consider it a decent seller (not amazing as you do), but I'll also say that it IS amazing that Celine managed to sell an average amount of copies given the fact she in her 40s and almost banned from mainstream radios.
