Bralo20 Posted September 11, 2009 at 07:23 PM Posted September 11, 2009 at 07:23 PM Nice to see you back!!! It's been a long time Very nice of you to start monthly donations again! I'm sure the board could use it, hope that others take an example from you and also start donating. As a administrator of a big board myself I know that running a board like this does cost, it's a huge amount of money... I'm fortunate that I have a sponsor for my board so I'm happy to support this board instead. So folks, you all love this board since it's the best, so grab a bit of money and start supporting this board so we can enjoy it for many many years... But hey, if you better like to donate to a charity, you can also donate to CF² if you like this better, every single penny donated to CF² (excluding fees for Paypal unfortunately) will go to Céline's charity... So do something nice, and donate a bit, you'll feel happy about it. I'm monthly donating some amount to several charities and I just feel good about it, even if it's "change", it's always usefull... Oh, I'm starting to feel very very lonely in the VIP donators group, I would love to see more people in this group! ...
Timster Posted September 11, 2009 at 08:13 PM Posted September 11, 2009 at 08:13 PM Speaking of I Surrender, does anyone know which part is lipped? From this video it's obvious that the first verse is live, and the ending (from 'Right Here, Right Now' onwards). The part just before that is lipped, but I can't tell where it starts from. I think it might be from 2:49... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjUdfwVQu8k...feature=related
Claudette Posted September 11, 2009 at 09:13 PM Posted September 11, 2009 at 09:13 PM I don't know. ''I Surrender'' is one of the songs which I cannot tell whether or not she lips and if she does which part. http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

Tyler1991 Posted September 12, 2009 at 04:01 AM Posted September 12, 2009 at 04:01 AM Tyler this one is for you. Found this good quality video of ABM in Cape Town just a few days after the 2/16 performance: You can see the bug eyes clearly on this video. It looks exactly like the other performances of ABM except the first 2. You are definitely onto something here... Thanks, I've been wondering for awhile what performance that was from. I knew it was somewhere in Africa, just not sure. Don't you wish that instead of the Cape Town ABM they would have used the 2/14 performance instead? I'm dying for good quality of that. Maybe someone knows how to remove the voices? Here is another video someone told me about that is also from 2/16. You can see her eyes are blinking for the first second of the note (before the camera shifts). So they aren't closed, but not all bug-eye-ish either. I'm trying to sing the note now while blinking my eyes fast. It's hard because it changes my tone when I do it... lol. Maybe you can see better then I can on if her eyes are closed or not around 42-44 seconds into the video? I just checked and Grammys, Brunei, Memphis, Millennium Concert, LTAL Tour, Bambi Awards, Billboards, Taratata, and Tonight Show were all closed from the beginning of the note to the end. Although her eyes did open once briefly and blink a few times in the Billboards performance before closing again. It's hard to tell on Montreal (FIY Tour) at the beginning but they are definitely closed on the middle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUQwj_SIa6U Additionally, on 2/14 her eyes closed right at the any in anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swBWm3gC7Wg Maybe it is lipped? If it is, it's still weird and unexplainable as to why she would opt to sing it live when she already had a track that she could use. I don't know. The quality is bad, it is difficult to see her face properly. But judging by her eyes in the first few seconds, I would say it was lipped... but I don't know, the posture thing, the fact that she sang it live the first night and the fact that she cracked the note slightly still makes me wonder. I mean the eye thing really could mean nothing... I guess we will never really know... Even if she lipped it, she still had to hit the note in studio and I still say that it is one of her bests... Maybe they will include clips of ABM from the first show on the DVD... What are you and Scramasboy going on about ''Alone'' and ''Eyes on me'' and Whoriah? He said that maybe Celine only sang ABM on the first night to test it out to see if it was to much to handle. I said that isn't logical seeing as how that note is harder then any other note, including the ten seconds lipped in TC, ten seconds in Alone, and all of EOM. If this were the case, wouldn't it make sense for TC and Alone to be live for the first show also? Can someone please tell me how auto tuning works? I have never heard of it? What specifically does it do when she sings the last note in I Surrender? I'm not 100% sure...but I think it just makes the note sound more in tune. This is done in production of the DVD, and it is 100% live in the actual concert. If it goes off, it can correct it. If you listen really closely, you will hear it sound like the note is trying to change, but can't... it almost sounds like the volume is lowering. Speaking of I Surrender, does anyone know which part is lipped? From this video it's obvious that the first verse is live, and the ending (from 'Right Here, Right Now' onwards). The part just before that is lipped, but I can't tell where it starts from. I think it might be from 2:49... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjUdfwVQu8k...feature=related I have always thought the first verse (and everything up until right here, right now) was lipped. Whenever I compare, that's the case.

Yeah, that's why we're saying it's partially lipped. The ending (beginning with right here, right now until the end) is live as there are plenty of variations in the length of the ending note. But everything before that....lipped.

Scramasboy Posted September 13, 2009 at 11:34 AM Posted September 13, 2009 at 11:34 AM Can someone please tell me how auto tuning works? I have never heard of it? What specifically does it do when she sings the last note in I Surrender?Basically, autotune tunes a note. Think of the Cher song Believe. What they did, was she sang the song, and then forced one of her notes to be "corrected" to a higher note and it makes that metallic sound. Sometimes it's obvious, in Cher's case, it was purposely obvious. Now, in the last note of I Surrender, the note wasn't so off key or anything, I think [it could have been] but it was used, and it made the note a little smoother, I'm sure, and the audience noise was drownded out. [she did the long last [baby] note live, no worries ] but afterward I think they did some auto-tweaking with the footage and if you really listen, you can hear some metalic or robotic sound in some notes. It's very obvious to me, haha. But the autotune was not used live. And Tyler about 'whoriah'- whoa. haha I didn't say it! lol! And I was just speculating, Claudette, about some notes and stuff. Think that could be his position? Lol.
