Yeah, I still agree with you. I think they used that audio fot the rest of the tour. If that is the case, then that note was even better than her live performances of that note in the 90's...

Yeah. It's like the only time she ended that going up, rather then falling lower in her tone...

 

And technically speaking, that means the DVD performance will actually be 100% live in a weird twisted way! It just pastes things from three different performances (2 Boston + This one) all into one and makes it a big live performance, lol! The only thing that doesn't match up with it being live is the video, lol..

I have never seen these behind the scenes from Star Academie. Pretty cool, some soundcheck footage and after the show with the contestants. Also the sneak into her dressing room in one and look thru her shoes and clothes haha.

You can see the bug eyes clearly on this video. It looks exactly like the other performances of ABM except the first 2. You are definitely onto something here...

Thanks, I've been wondering for awhile what performance that was from. I knew it was somewhere in Africa, just not sure. Don't you wish that instead of the Cape Town ABM they would have used the 2/14 performance instead? I'm dying for good quality of that. Maybe someone knows how to remove the voices?

 

Here is another video someone told me about that is also from 2/16. You can see her eyes are blinking for the first second of the note (before the camera shifts). So they aren't closed, but not all bug-eye-ish either. I'm trying to sing the note now while blinking my eyes fast. It's hard because it changes my tone when I do it... lol.

 

 

Maybe you can see better then I can on if her eyes are closed or not around 42-44 seconds into the video?

 

I just checked and Grammys, Brunei, Memphis, Millennium Concert, LTAL Tour, Bambi Awards, Billboards, Taratata, and Tonight Show were all closed from the beginning of the note to the end. Although her eyes did open once briefly and blink a few times in the Billboards performance before closing again. It's hard to tell on Montreal (FIY Tour) at the beginning but they are definitely closed on the middle.

I agree with this. For me it seems the most reasonable.

I agree that it seems logical, ONLY if it wasn't common knowledge that that particular note is harder to hit then the hardest note in TPOL, the hardest in IDAN, the hardest in TLYM, the hardest in MHWGO, the hardest in IACBTMN, the hardest in EOM, the hardest in Alone, and the hardest in Taking Chances (which btw, if she opt to sing live once for ABM, why wouldn't she do the same for TC, Alone, and EOM also?).

 

I understand that the verses in those songs are harder then the verses in ABM. But once that high note goes off at 3:15ish, the remaining minute plus is tough the whole way. Not only do you have that long lasting 10 second high E5, but you follow it up with the "whoa oh oh ohhhhhhh" that lasts 8 seconds (and is done twice)....then there is some other stuff before finally getting to the ending note which lasts usually between 7-10 seconds, usually closer to 7....and it is just a slight bit lower (in a few cases higher) then the highest note in TPOL.

 

That note is harder then any other single note she has ever done, so why would she opt to sing it live to "check and see if it was fine for her voice", but immediately resort to lipping 10 seconds in TC and 10 seconds in Alone at the end (afterall, TC was live in Vegas when it was performed the last 1-2 months)? Those two songs are definitely not harder in the parts lipped.

My guess: the Alone notes, which I speculate, lol, and the abm note are generally acapella, so if her voice flubbed, there is a greater chance it would be realized.

 

Now, POL, I think it's because she is held to a standard on that song. People want the LONG note at the end, not the power of Loo [drops note] ooooooooove Thats my guess.

 

 

Anyway, I am starting to wonder about EOM. I was the one who told you it wasn't live, Tyler, and now I am wondering if parts are live. I am not very partial to that song so I haven't listened to many performances.

I don't know. The quality is bad, it is difficult to see her face properly. But judging by her eyes in the first few seconds, I would say it was lipped... but I don't know, the posture thing, the fact that she sang it live the first night and the fact that she cracked the note slightly still makes me wonder. I mean the eye thing really could mean nothing... I guess we will never really know... Even if she lipped it, she still had to hit the note in studio and I still say that it is one of her bests...

 

Maybe they will include clips of ABM from the first show on the DVD...
