The concept of the video: A young woman (Celine) is happy that she has love in her life (the guy in her flat), even if her standard of living is simple. Because the guy with the car doesn't have love in his life. He only cares for his car/money.

 

Yes, overall the video is weird and confusing.

the video is totally weird. And did you notice the "HIV" sign in the back of that yellow car? Does that mean that he has Hiv but is still happy, becuase he has that car, which he apparently crashes at the end of the video?

 

I'm glad they never released this. I'm not a fan of it, but I like the fact that we get to see what kind of stuff they shelved.

 

By the way, was that the version they played in the Las Vegas butique?

Interesting to see, but that's one seriously bizarre and confusing video! It feels weirdly like an early version of the Chrysler ads, but with weird focus put on the yellow car (and polishing!) and before they'd figured out anything about how to do a car partnership spot. Which doesn't seem to have much to do with anything anyway. But then there's a disconnected racing car crash at the end! And what about the second guy - what's he about?! And why is Céline so emotionally polarized?!!

 

It may be the lighting/angle and/or the video quality, but Céline looks very full in the face here - I don't ever remember her like that. Maybe she didn't like how she looked and that's another reason why they didn't release the video (totally illegitimate speculation on my part).

 

Hey i uploaded the video and i think the ratio is slightly wider than it should be - not by much but that could be why Celine looks a bit fuller in the face.

Hey - yeah i thought it was so bizarre as well. it does have an art students project vibe about it. I can totally see why they didnt use it. Its almost like they did this as a favour for someone? I dont know, but yes apparently people have said that this was played in the las Vegas boutique weirdly.

And although Celine and this guy are poor, they love each other and are happy. That's how I interpret it. But something about this video makes me feel uncomfotable. That's the first time ever with a Celine video lol Also, Celine acts totally weird. In one moment she is laughing like crazy, and in another shot she becomes totally melanchiolic. It's just weird. I had no idea that an alternative version of TT existed. I'm glad that they decided to shoot it again and came up with a proper concept for the video. This version doesn't do justice to the song. Yet, I love to see it. You can totally see the early 90s here lol

This is the version i remember every week on top of the pops! And afterwards for me when i saw the actual video i was like...."wait this is a different video" haha. But theyn i never saw the denim one again. I loved how she looked in the totp one though. There was also one they shot for top of the pops where she was on a pier - she was on the charts with it for so long they basically had to keep shooting mini music videos to keep it interesting when she couldnt be in the studio.

Good question. I may be crazy, but I swear there was an original version that aired and then when The Voice's Youtube channel put out highlights they left out a few of the original bits. Like Celine singing the ABC's and other quick vocal moments.

BLESS HER - Literally on her honey moon here! The song completely blew up in the UK and she ended up having to come over to the UK in the end because the song was number 1 for 7 weeks! :sofunny: . Absolute star.
