It's very bizarre, as the DCP and D'Eux albums were distributed in the USA. So I was hoping that copyright-wise, it should not be an issue.

 

Oddly and conversely, Just Walk Away, a track that was not on the US version of the TCOML album may be viewed in the USA, whereas I would have expected otherwise.

 

Would be interesting to understand the reasons. :hmm: ^_^

 

The reason is because her team (or Sony) messes up the settings of the videos when uploading them. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing, and vice-versa.

Rarely post here, but I saw something interesting just a few minutes ago.

 

Sony (at least here in Canada, not sure internationally) is running sponsored ads using the just released Did You Give Enough Love video on Instagram. I guess the speculation that they released it to drive up promo for the new album/revitalized image is slightly true. It's a great video that oddly enough, captures who she is now even if it is from 1993.

 

I guess they saw its been racking up views on YouTube (182,848 and still growing) and decided to push it on Social. In comparison Water from the Moon only has 94,210 views and is only growing slightly in views.

Literally, just promoting their Instagram post of uploading the video. I don't know who manages their ad spend, but I would've thought they'd be spending money to promote the Flying On My Own videos.

Well, as the blocking is not done randomly but for (almost) all her French songs, then it must be related to some kind of copyright issue unfortunately. :cry:

Poor Celine, there I think she got the "creak" sound back right at her ears due to technical difficulties.

What an amazing professional she is and always was.

Dry vocals. See it’s the sound guy’s work. It’s not really céline’s voice. This is what I’m hearing now. They need a reverb, eq to have a richer and warmer vocals. That’s what they need to do again.

I love those dry vocals. She still sounded awesome without any reverb at all. Obviously, I wouldn't want this to happen all the time, but in the end, this performance is just iconic.

It seems they uploaded audios of all her French songs but they are blocked in most countries. I'm not sure, but they probably are available in France, Canada, Belgium and maybe Switzerland.

They are also blocked in Poland although her French music was very popular here.

In this performance, she sounded great even though there are many tech probs. But dry vocals or no effect at all/raw you will hear more imperfections. Céline needs a sound guy that is ready for every event like in tv interviews (performance), award shows, etc.. so her voice doesn't sound different in every shows. Like ready for the eq, effects. like Mariah.. ahem lol
