"Courage" album - Official Topic

The song got as much if not more traction than Courage. The audio video on youtube has as much as the Imperfections music video and is among the most streamed on Spotify.

 

I have no idea why they didn't release the video but I doubt it's because the song didn't do well or because it needed special effects. I don't think the video was a special effects type video and the "mars set" thing came from a person working there and yet the guy didn't even know if it was for a music video. Seemed to me like he just used the word mars because it's what it looked like to him, not because that's what it was.

Her videos for this album were pretty simple, and the only effects used were practical. A play with lights and water (both used in the live shows and photoshoots), perhaps the LD video had fire elements which goes well with the red theme it had going (red set and Celine in a red dress).

 

It's a shame promotion fell flat because production-wise they did really good. There are so many little details and themes carried throughout.

 

Exact. Today I listened to the entire album again, something I hadn't done in weeks. The conclusion was the same. The Courage album is just fabulous !!!

I hope that new music videos will be released and that it will be promoted by Sony so that it will not be forgotten when the time for the music awards ceremonies arrives.

Celine Dion more than deserves at least a Grammy Award for the album Courage.

I forget that things like YouTube and Spotify mean something these days. I only think in terms of the actual charts. Does anyone know (I’m sure someone does) Lying Down’s peak on the Adult Contemporary charts?

LD has never entered the US AC charts. The only song to appear on this chart is ‘Imperfections’ which peaked at #11.

I think Lying Down is a bad idea for a single. I think songs with actively defiant tones and lyrics don't connect as much, broadly speaking.

I feel fortunate to have seen Lying Down in Quebec. One of the few rare performances. While I love Imperfections and wishes I had seen it, I found Lying Down was better live. I loved the lighting during the song.

This is not the first time. Previously, they shoot the video for Encore un Soir, only to never release it. So maybe it’s just their habit now. LOL.

“Imperfections” just isn’t a song that works live. It sounds underwhelming and because it’s so low for Céline, it sounds very mushy. Also, the fact that they put it in that third segment of the show (which, judging by Céline’s dress, looks like it was planned for elegant ballads) just doesn’t work in my mind. “Lying Down” on the other hand is exactly the kind of song that works well live. The arrangement and lighting was so, so good. I have a feeling Scott was specifically referring to these songs when he said that some songs work live and others are better kept as studio only.

They should just release the LD music video as a gift for the fans. It’s obvious they don’t care much about commercial success so the fact that it’s very late (and the video could be very bad) shouldn’t be a reason. I don’t see why they wouldn’t release it anyway, given how little they actually care about the album.

 

Well, keep in mind, it’s not up to Celine whether or not to release a video. She’s just hired by her record company to film one. It’s up to them to decide whether it gets released - it’s their money. And if there was everyone anyone that doesn’t give a fu@k about the fans, it’s the record company.

I think they should release the music video for LD as well as a lyrics video for FTLTIL (#3 on the This Is Celine Dion Spotify playlist). They can do great and the album can benefit from any source of streams. 😊

Craving attention??? They’re doing these events from home to raise money for people who can’t work, for medical staff who don’t have the necessary equipment to help people fighting this virus. I say that as long as they have the platform, keep doing it. We all need all the help we can get right now.
