Xpresso Posted February 19, 2020 at 06:31 PM Posted February 19, 2020 at 06:31 PM Yes, and the purpose of the album is to set a theme for the tour. That's what makes one tour different than the rest. And this tour's theme is "jukebox-karaoke". The ONLY saving grace it's that it's mostly all LIVE. Too bad most of us agree it's a waste of live vocals.I guess they never thought of naming the album Jukebox-Karaoke. Next time maybe. I'm still puzzled by fans who are still pissed at the setlist. It's not going to change much so better get used to it. Quote

Chantemoi Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:16 PM Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:16 PM (edited) Right, but as I said, this isn’t some trivial matter, like “ I don’t like her hair / costumes ” ... it runs deeper. I think it’s unreasonable to expect people to accept a major incongruance between who Céline presents herself to be (in interviews) as a mother, artist, and performer. For the former 2 roles, she’s proven herself to be extremely “courageous”; as a performer, on the Courage World Tour, we can all agree she’s stuck much closer to her wheelhouse than she did even 2-3 years ago. I can see why you’re sick of being reminded about it, but it makes perfect sense for fans to continue voicing their disapproval —epecially since the tour is still underway. We won’t hear an end to it until A) the tour ends, or B ) the setlist changes. Edited February 19, 2020 at 08:21 PM by Chantemoi 3 Quote
AdrienneM Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:30 PM Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:30 PM Theres a point where it becomes incessant bitching and complaining to no avail, and that point became reality about 3-4 months ago. Constantly filling threads with the exact same thing over and over isnt going to change, resolve or better anything. After performing numerous deep cuts and oldies over a 3 year period, it was kind of obvious the North American shows at least were to reintroduce her to the wider US and Canada after 10+ years, and that entails a hits tour, similar to what you get from any artist after they havent toured for a decade. The only places the set list is likely to vary is in Europe and Asia/Oceania. Until then, this conversation needs to come to a close, its been the same complaints for months and whilst I may agree, its getting to the infuriating, painful way the “new album” thread was getting. Eventually the tour thread will probably get closed for the same reason, incessant nagging, fighting and general negativity, and nothing could be more infuriating than a closed thread on her current world tour because of behaviour. So can we please. Please. PLEASE give it a rest. 2 Quote
Chantemoi Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:49 PM Posted February 19, 2020 at 08:49 PM All I’m saying is that the disappointed attitude from fans on this forum won’t change until something external changes on the tour/promo train. If you’re expecting it to stop just because you don’t like it, you better buckle up: it’s gonna be a long ride, sweetie. 4 Quote

If you’re expecting it to stop just because you don’t like it, you better buckle up: it’s gonna be a long ride, sweetie. The disappointed attitude doesn’t need to change. The incessant harping about it in threads is what we’re all kinda bored of reading. It’s just a lot of bitching/moaning/griping/whining at this point. It just gets old and at a certain point you just have to keep it to yourself. Posting about it on this board isn’t gonna change anything. It is what it is. 3 Quote

Nando Férri Posted February 20, 2020 at 03:06 AM Posted February 20, 2020 at 03:06 AM she grosses multi millions of dollars for touring and apparently doesn’t give a damn about that album. It’s all about $$$Truth. Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4ejungtQy1r9swpco6_250.gif
couldawouldashoulda Posted February 20, 2020 at 03:31 AM Posted February 20, 2020 at 03:31 AM Of course it’s about money. It’s in the name “show business.” They don’t call it “show artistry.” It’s a business and like anything in business, business want to make money. People want to make money. Celine is making a lot of money without changing anything so why would she? What is the motivation? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! 2 Quote
Xpresso Posted February 20, 2020 at 06:07 PM Posted February 20, 2020 at 06:07 PM Exactly. Why do unknown singers or bands want to make it big in the industry? Don't tell me it's for the art because they could keep doing it even if they don't make much money. They are all in it for the money. Surprise! And why do you go to work - even if you like your job? Let me think... 5 Quote
smw Posted February 20, 2020 at 06:27 PM Posted February 20, 2020 at 06:27 PM Do we think there's any chance Celine will do some promo while she's doing her shows in NYC? The View? The Tonight Show? One of the morning shows? After all, they did just release the vinyl edition of the album and she's still trying to sell tickets for this tour, so it makes some sense. It'd also be a great opportunity for her to make another fashion / paparazzi splash -- igniting another wave of internet buzz. I know it's very important to rest between shows so I won't get my hopes up. I also know we can make a thousand jokes about how Celine no longer believes in promo. But it'd be so great if she made a couple appearances! I have the same question for LA. (She performs at Staples on April 2 and 3 -- then she's off on April 4, 5, and 6). She could hush up & wow so many of us fans if she surprises us by singing a song from Courage on a talk show. 2 Quote

couldawouldashoulda Posted February 20, 2020 at 11:22 PM Posted February 20, 2020 at 11:22 PM (edited) I was just thinking about how much this forum freaked out when the album leaked a week early and some people were so freaked out that it was going to ruin their “surprise” and their “marketing plan.” Now we know...there WAS no marketing plan!!! I hope the people who listened to it didn’t feel too guilty. And I hope the people who freaked out will calm down when the same thing happens next album. I still have not listened to Soul or the Play Me Like A Love Song clips because I wanna save them for when I play the heck out of this album and want to take a break from it lol. 8 Quote
