I wonder if it had anything to do with her weight. She was quite thin looking compared to the start of the tour. If it was filmed in the summer, maybe they just scrapped it.

As for Courage, I'm glad we got 2 videos (or 3, counting FOMO). It's already more than we were expecting.

Sure, I would love to see the video for LD (it's my favourite song on the album), but if it didn't turn out the way they wanted, I'm fine with it not being released.

Yes, we got 2 videos, Courage and Imperfections. But those videos are very generic and lack of new ideas and creativity. Take Ashes video as example. That’s how you should make the video. An idea where singer sings on big stage was done a million times before. But put Deadpool in heels dancing around her. What an excellent idea. The result is video went viral and trending on YouTube for several days, and boost Ashes as Celine’s biggest hits in years (though now they ignore it in Courage World Tour). But I guess idea was from Deadpool team (Ryan Reynolds, etc). There’s no way the idea came from Team Celine. Lol.

Exactly! well maybe the imperfections was a bit better but quite below her superstarlevel imo.

The courage video on the other hand..that is so basic and even then..it is Just plain bad imo and i hope this is the last b/w video. She deserves better!

It could also be that, for a song that didn’t take off here in the States (or anywhere else really,) the special effects cost too much to complete the video. I'm pretty sure that they worked on the editing right after the shoot finished and that the video was already completed long before the time they decided to stop to promote the song. So when it's finished, they should just release it and not hold it back. Another possibility is that they really didn't like the final product. I'm thankful Celine's team at least shared the majority of the film as various clips on her social media. It would've been truly pointless to make that film if her team didn't even do that -- and it was nice that these clips surrounded the vinyl release of Courage.

-A brand new album with 16 songs

-A deluxe edition of the album with 4 additional songs

-An additional bonus song on the Japanese release: Soul

-Official music video for Flying On My Own - live from Vegas

-A concert / interview event in Los Angeles announcing the Courage World Tour and confirmation of album's release. This was broadcast live on Facebook.

-A short film with drag queens announcing the departure of Las Vegas / going on the Courage World Tour

-After the event in LA, Celine did a big round of interviews that were broadcast across various networks

-Celine appeared / performed on Jimmy Kimmel to promote the departure of Vegas / going on the world tour

-Celine visited Sony Music Headquarters in NYC

-Four songs were released when the album was available for pre-order

-Album artwork revealed on social media prior to album's official release

-Official music video for Imperfections

-Official music video for Courage

-Celine's team released professionally shot teaser footage from the world tour

-Celine sang Flying On My Own at the Hyde Park concert

-So far, Celine has sung Flying On My Own, Imperfections, Lying Down, and Courage during the tour

-Celine did an interview on CBS with Gayle King after the Courage World Tour officially launched

-Celine did a round of interviews around the same time the first four songs were released (such as the Today Show interview below)

-Celine appeared /performed at a drag queen karaoke show in NYC to celebrate the album's launch

-Celine did another big round of interviews that aired across multiple networks -- Good Morning Britain, the Tom Power interview, etc etc

-Celine made a recreation of the It's All Coming Back To Me Now music video for Instagram

-Celine did backstage interviews after some of the Courage World Tour shows

-Celine did more interviews during the shooting of the music videos

-Didn't Imperfections become a top ten adult contemporary hit? (Despite little promo.)

-Celine's team released a "making of" the Courage album short video

-Apple released a short film where Celine discusses making the Courage album

-Vinyl edition of the album released on Valentine's Day

 

What am I forgetting??

 

If you go digging, there really is quite a bit of promo for this album and tour. Where her team didn't succeed was in building momentum -- and Celine has yet to perform many songs from this fantastic new album. I also think, in the future, Celine should probably do less of those hotel room interviews and more in-person talk shows.

 

I do, however, very much respect that she did things her way this time. She didn't exhaust herself. Ultimately, she got another #1 album and we have some phenomenal new songs. And I don't know how much more success she would've had if she did exhaust herself doing tons of talk shows. She did that for LMBTL with unimpressive results.

 

It should also be noted that we are in a wonderful era as far as perception of Celine is concerned. She's a legendary vocalist, who has gained even more respect for her work ethic and live performance abilities. She's a fashion icon. Her tour is selling out / receiving wonderful reviews. After seeing the reactions of the songwriters who were chosen to be a part of the Courage album, and watching so many of the reaction videos for the album on YouTube, it's clear to me that Celine Dion remains relevant.

 

Do I want more? Yes! Have we gotten a lot? Yes!

But...she didn't release PMLALS...or the LD video...

 

When looking at the big picture, things aren't as bad as people on here make it seem. The only part where I agree that she has "failed" is in better representing the album in the tour.

Possibly also in the type of promo she did. I would have preferred a bit more talk show promo and focus on different online platforms than the ones they went with, and obviously keeping momentum at least the week after release. But all in all she's done and given us much more than expected despite what she's had happen in only the first 5 months of the tour.

It’s just sad she hasn’t fought more for this album. Even a song like Imperfections, which climbed up the charts despite only 1 broadcast performance did well on its own. Imagine if she sang it twice? Or thrice? I could have reached the #5 position, easily. That this is her best hit in over 15 years, and they’re sleeping on it speaks volumes.

 

Again, I wouldn’t have such high expectations if she had not gone and set the bar so damn high with the Courage album, and then embarked on the least artistic tour of her career...

Albums used to be the reason for touring, now touring is the reason to release an album. That's where the business is at, and most big artists focus more on their tour than on their albums unfortunately. Times change.

Yes, and the purpose of the album is to set a theme for the tour. That’s what makes one tour different than the rest.

And this tour’s theme is “jukebox-karaoke”. The ONLY saving grace it’s that it’s mostly all LIVE. Too bad most of us agree it’s a waste of live vocals.
