Well, Vole/Fly, TLDH are less than 3 minutes. Yet they are considered one of the best songs of her career. LYAC, LBEF, PAMP, LTQC, Berceuse and so on are less then 3 minutes and reception has been mostly positive.

Imagine a world where It's All Coming Back To Me Now is 3 minutes long... By the way I hope at least each song has a bridge and some key changes, great melodies and pure vocals (everything that Flying On My Own doesn't have).

TBH I miss long songs too. But the bigger problem is verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus cliche. And 4/4 time signature. Those are far bigger problems. Most of the time these days songs with such structure tend to be fillers or just plain boring and emotionless. Celine can easily avoid boredom now because she has new strength though. Her singing can lift even most dire filler song.

 

I miss intros like ANDHC and outros like TLYM, choir parts like CTM, multiple key changes like GTSW, instrumental parts like JCL, choruses that each have something special ie not sound the same like IACBTMN and fadeouts like SJNRDT. Also endings like TPOL, IS or TYLAM. Hopefully, this album wont have cliched structures. Courage and Imperfections kinda deviate, Courage bridge repeats twice, Imperfections has outro. Lying down at first glance has simple structure but lack of mega note and length of parts make it work. FOMO is most cliched but choruses arent just copy paste and song has pseudo outro. All 4 are poppy but, FOMO has EDM influence, I has chill influence, Courage is piano ballad and LD is power ballad.

THIS!!! And that all can be summed up in one word: production! The producers are there to do their job, but with this silly tendency to shorten songs to 3 minutes, it is really hard to have intros, outros, fadings, key changes, bridges and so on

 

I miss fadeouts like If Walls Could Talk, and Je crois toi (up to 5 minutes )

 

There's so mucn rush to do fast music today. In the 90s we had a radio edit almost for every song sent to radios. Now it's everything one album version, and be thankful to have remixes, if there's any commissioned

This is crazy, because Celine will never ever sing a song that includes cursing words in it, but I would love if she'd ever record something like this, with such provocative yet smart lyrics, and this infectious music

 

I'd give anything for a collab like this before her next cheesy duet with any Adele's out there.

 

No, a song like this doesn't include any vocal prowess, songs like this are not for her belting the high notes until her heart explodes, but songs like this would help her break the norm, take her out of her comfort zone, and they're not the expected cliched Celine Dion song that precisely because of that, no radio DJ pays attention to even take her CD out of the envelope when they're sent her new album to be tested.

What do you mean by “All these 2 minute tracks”? There are only 2 tracks shorter than 3 minutes and both of them by only seconds.

Also, why is it surprising that “Courage” is one of the longest tracks? After all, it is the title track and therefore deserves a solid place in the track list. Not to mention that it’s a marvelous song.

Yeah but you can bet that those shorts songs are completely repetitive most of the times.

 

In Courage it has a tiny instrumental solo before it goes a bit bigger. (I do not know the exact terms like bridge chorus etc)

 

I guess it's 1 of the few that has the 'oldskool' vibe.

Disappointed Lovers Never Die and For The Lover The I Lost last less than 3 minutes. Yep I agree, as I already said in the PMLALS post, definitely thought if anything it fit the song title of Lovers Never Die but not at such a short length as it was clear from what we heard that this song has a build up. Therefore, I’m now almost sure it hasn’t made the cut.

 

I did like what I heard from the snippet we got but I do believe it sounded fairly dated and to me that’s why it hasn’t made the album or perhaps it will be featured in a movie soundtrack and was never meant for this album, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Really? I think this song is a masterpiece. So emotional. Would definitely be on my top Celine's songs of all time.

I noticed on ITunes just now that the “deluxe” album cover now says “deluxe” at the very top of the album cover. Just a minor change but I happened to notice it

Will they roll out "making of the album" clips leading up to the album's release on Nov 15?

Will she perform any of these songs on TV shows like SNL, GMA, The Voice, etc?

Will she make some surprise appearances?
