pepillo90 Posted September 18, 2019 at 01:33 PM Posted September 18, 2019 at 01:33 PM Such a loose observation from me. Try to listen to all four songs ("Courage", "Imperfections", "Lying Down", "Flying On My Own") together one by one. I'm not sure the order matters here, but in my opinion they all fit together. It seems that despite of different thematic and melodic songs, this album seems to be extremely coherent. This, for example, may be an explanation for the lack of very strong bass in "Flying On My Own". So, the whole promises to be very, very interesting So true, and this is excites me so much! Thnswlsn25 Posted September 18, 2019 at 01:34 PM Posted September 18, 2019 at 01:34 PM Courage's lyrics is just simply beautiful and fascinating! And I do agree with a member, that Courage fits her more than Recovering, It just basically suits her more. I'm so in lovee 3 Quote

This was no different. […]The day of the interview at a downtown hotel, things were running about 90 minutes late, as they do in these types of situations all too often. Dion’s team was shooting all of the interviews with three cameras, so I had been mic’d up, and was sitting waiting in the room when La Dion finally arrived. Then the fun began.I assume Dion didn’t know who was going to be interviewing her and then she saw it was me. We go way back. The first time we met was just weeks before the launch in 1990 of Unison, her first English album, and I’ve been interviewing her every couple of years ever since. She said ‘hi’ and then said:“You’re a guy who’s ahead of your time. You’re pro-active. You’re ahead.”I asked her why she was saying that.“It’s Friday,” she replied, pointing to my hoodie. It’s a red hoodie my girlfriend bought me that features a big photo of British new wave band The Cure with the words: It’s Friday, I’m in Love, a tribute to their 1992 hit Friday I’m in Love.I asked her if she knew the song.“What is it? Sing it to me,” said Dion.I tried a fairly pathetic attempt, forgetting most of the words, though I was helped along by several members of Dion’s entourage. At that point, Dion started her own ad-libbing, singing (not by the way to tune of the Cure song): “It’s Sunday, I forgot about love. I went to church. I changed my mind. I don’t know where I go. I don’t know where it’s been. But it’s Friday and I’m in love today. I should ask on Tuesday if I have something to do, if I have something to say.”I tell her it’s fantastic and that she should cover the Cure chestnut.“Are you writing the lyrics (that I’m singing)? Because if you’re writing the lyrics and the song comes out and it’s a big hit, I want royalties,” Dion said.Soon she burst into song again: “Every day is a crazy day.”Is that true, I ask.“Even Fridays are crazy days,” Dion said.Did I mention that the cameras hadn’t even started rolling at that point? That’s life with Céline. Always expect the unexpected when you talk to her.So things are crazy, I ask again.“Well the schedule is a little crazy,” Dion said. “The butterflies are a little crazy. They’re putting up the stage in Quebec right now, so that’s crazy. … Then the album and motherhood, and the family here. Even though it’s raining today here, it’s wonderful to see some rain because I live in Vegas so rain is beautiful. And the trees are just about to change colour. We’ve had two corn-on-the-cob parties with the family.”I know, it’s hard to keep up with her! She then she talked of how she’d like to maybe tour smaller more intimate venues and then she segued back to The Cure song.“And it might happen on a Friday and I will let you know.”And you’ll be in love, I suggest.“Because I’m always in love,” she said. Then the cameras stopped rolling and one of the members of her management team brought out his cellphone and played the video of Friday I’m in Love for Dion. She appeared to really like the song, which she’d never heard before.“I want to know what he says about Sunday,” said Dion as she began listening. She said it reminded her of Serge Fiori. Only Céline Dion would say that. Classic. That led to a chat off-camera about the brilliance of Fiori’s inspired 2014 comeback album. That’s what’s refreshing about talking to Dion. It’s not just a pre-packaged rehearsed interview all about the product. She just says what she thinks.” 8 Quote

scielle Posted September 18, 2019 at 02:03 PM Posted September 18, 2019 at 02:03 PM So judging by the Brendan Kelly tweets, I think today may have been interview blitz day. And, judging by IG stories, my favorite interviewer - Tom Power of CBC's Q radio show - was in Montréal today. And I have theories.... (This may well be wishful thinking, but I have hope... The show doesn't travel often, as it's daily and generally live-to-air from Toronto in the AM, so they can't take hours to go to and fro all the time. Only done for special occasions. And, I mean... what else would he be doing in Montreal at this time of year, especially since TIFF is about to kick off and that's usually Q's busiest time given all the stars in town...and there's nothing notable happening in Montreal that would take him there for the day....hmmmm)So an update on this: - The day after Tom Power was in Montreal, he opened his show by saying thanks to the broadcaster who sat in for him the previous morning while he was "out on a top secret mission I can't tell you about quite yet"- At the end of today's show, he signed off saying "tomorrow we'll be able to tell you about an upcoming interview one of the biggest guests on Q, ever" .... just sitting here in the corner, putting together clues... wjd Posted September 18, 2019 at 02:13 PM Posted September 18, 2019 at 02:13 PM Courage is incredible, a true anthem and so befitting of her life since Rene died. Imperfections is great but is missing a big climax IMO. Lying Down is sensational, I love her raw and powerful vocals. Courage is however a home run. 5 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
