Imperfections was just begging for some high key vocal belts in the background in the last 45 seconds..

 

Well, I really appreciate that it's a calm song. We will probably have big vocals in other songs.

“Lying Down” is apparently the Sia/Guetta collaboration.

 

Who knows? Maybe there were more than one song...?

Imperfection has a very modern sound, the chorus is a bit repetitive, but that's modern...people can't remember anything nowadays :giggle:

Lying Down is very well produced, I love the layering of the song.

Courage is a very emotional song, maybe even a better 'closure' song than Recovering. The lyrics are so written for/over her. All i'd say is that I don't like the Courage, don't you dare fail me now line isn't that strong, it doesn't flow as well.

 

Overal her pronunciation is better than I expected! It's a great modern sound, without forcing it. I can't wait how they will perform these songs live!!

 

The only downside is after listening to these songs, I'm like GRRRRRRR I want the rest too!!! They left me thirsty for me! I do there will be a few IS/IWYTNM/IACBTMN kind of songs on the album, cos in the end those kind of songs are why I became a fan!

 

and I luuuuuurve the photoshoot!! Céline looks amazingly beautiful!! I hope we haven't seen all the pictures by now tho...

Wow we really don't deserve her, she is just so down to earth and humble, what a great interview with Brandon Kelly.

 

Currently listening to the 3 songs on youtube and wow is all I can say, don't you just love her , she tries new things but still keeps to what we know her for which is songs with so much feeling and emotion, if only we could say the same about Mariah Carey and I'm a fan of hers also but have been really disappointing with her last 2 album releases, at least with LMBTL even though it was mixed it still had some great songs, thankgod for Celine Dion

 

I really think Courage is going to be one of best albums in years

Anyone else is surprised the opening track is Flying On My Own?? I thought this being the first song unveiled from the album as a bonus two months ago, it would be spread in between the tracklist but definitely not the album opener!

 

 

No I am not surprised actually! I think it's the perfect opening! It basically tells you where she is now in her live: flying on her own, on the wings of Renés love and this album tell her current story and is what she has to offer to you! I'm happy it's the opener!

At first listen I really love Lying Down. :wub: I already pre-ordered the deluxe version on iTunes, but I can't wait to get the physical copy as well. Who am I kidding, I am gonna buy all the different versions of this album, lol.

She did say it on the Today show interview. :)

Well, in the Brendan Kelly interview she said she was in the process of making a video when she decided on the album title.

Now, that could have been the tour promo video... or it could have been something else.

Such a loose observation from me. Try to listen to all four songs ("Courage", "Imperfections", "Lying Down", "Flying On My Own") together one by one.

 

I'm not sure the order matters here, but in my opinion they all fit together. It seems that despite of different thematic and melodic songs, this album seems to be extremely coherent. This, for example, may be an explanation for the lack of very strong bass in "Flying On My Own". So, the whole promises to be very, very interesting ;)

it is so alive, we hear evey nuance of the voice and the instrument . Someone who knows more could explain. We are with her. Never been so happy to have invest in a good ampli and speakers. Edited by québecflower
