Celine singing Britney Spears's sound like songs on One Heart, Kelly Clarkson's on TC and Sia's on LMBTL is also trying too hard. Is just the way it is... One thing is adapting your sound to a more current trend and other is having collaborations with rapers in almost every song. For me that just proves that she doesn't have enough confidence in her name alone anymore. And being 61 and singing a song called Bit** I´m Loca is a bit too much, at least for me. Popular Post Ajax Posted April 17, 2019 at 03:08 PM Popular Post Posted April 17, 2019 at 03:08 PM (edited) Well can we bring some nuances in this "Trying too hard" thing ? We can assume FOMO is from Guetta/Sia... Guetta/Sia always searched for amazing true vocalist whatever they are famous or not. Celine being one of the greatest pop vocalist of all time is totally at her place in this collaboration. Also, those songs are usually like Anthem songs with a generic message about love acceptance and freedom, more or less, and usually in quite a very concensual universe not that much sexualised and not at all transgressive. Once again, Celine is totally right at her place here. Finally, we can assume that this song will be presented in still a very celinish setting, We can assume a music video with Celine in front of a sunset, singing about freedom, hands in the air. Once again, right at her place. Of course we will see some coments about her pushing the thing and trying a bit hard. That's normal, Céline coming from such a corny, classic repertoire and image. There's always amazing vocalist with Guetta/Sia anthem, she's exactly where she should be. Just wanted to bring some nuances as we are comparing with MADONA who thinks that twerking with Minaj, , now trying to be associated with the reggaeton trend, giving big fu*** on TV, showing her #ss while having pink hairs, is the most useful and transgressive thing to do to fight agism. Javito Posted April 17, 2019 at 04:36 PM Posted April 17, 2019 at 04:36 PM (edited) It's useless to keep a conversation when it's all about prudish, narrow-minded or just fans that one day they seem living in the XXV century and the next day in the XV, bitching all the time others because they're blindly thinking whatever Celine does (or doesn't do, better said) is always BEST They see the scandal on Madonna doing her thing with the title of a new song -like she's always done- and that's "too much" but when Céline keeps 6 years without releasing any new music in English to me that's probably "too little" And what's the problem with Madonna here now? What has to do the title of a song here with Celine? Let her do her thing, which is what she's doing as a singer and recording artist. The point made is that she has released a single and tracklist, the point is that we've seen all the big names releasing albums all these years and once again we keep waiting for Celine's. I'd rather have Madonna daring to do what she wants and always truth to her provocative style than Celine doing nothing when it comes to new English music for 6 years and counting. And God knows when Madonna releases a new album and single, the world knows AND she promotes it to the max wherever she goes. The difference between Madonna and Celine is that Madonna always goes one step further and has no fear to fail or disappoint, whereas Celine it's always one step further and two backwards, and that's why her albums haven't gone anywhere nor haven't left any legacy since 2002 (contrary to Madonna, which has always had at least one single that has generated impact when not been a success again in radios and clubs). Also, we all know Madonna prioritises all the album making process over the live performance, while Celine is the contrary, she rushes the recording and she wants to tour before giving new music. Let's see how much of the new album Celine will release is really "new" and "fresh" and how many songs from it she takes on tour... Edited April 17, 2019 at 04:51 PM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... Critiaslux Posted April 17, 2019 at 05:00 PM Posted April 17, 2019 at 05:00 PM (edited) Comparing Madonna and Celine is like comparing apples and oranges. One is about voice. The other about constant renewal. Hence for Celine case, just like Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, or Edith Piaf, it is about presenting the voice in updated context but not about being trendsetter. Hence the sound of LMBTL album is different from the Unison ones. Ashes is a good example: classic ballad but with contemporary sound. When her songs are the best is when they have a timeless feeling. Her main issue maybe since 2002 is not to have been able to generate such freshed up classic sound. Madonna on the contrary is about renewal of sound, and was good at being the first at releasing to the general public underground music or fashion. Her issue maybe since 2006 is that instead of being the trendsetter she follows trend (e.g. 7 minutes was the least Madonnaesque sound but more a Timbaland song). CSCfan Posted April 17, 2019 at 05:17 PM Posted April 17, 2019 at 05:17 PM 1. do we even know IF the song is called "flying on my own", or it is just a guess?? No... it could also be titled "Baby". 2. OR even if it will actually BE the new single from the new album (which according to celine herself, will not be released BEFORE NOVEMBER, & in the past of celines music career, celine & company had NEVER released a new single 7-8 months before the albums release... the EARLIEST she had ever released a new single before the album itself was 1-2 months!!) so going by celines album & single release history, may is WAYYY too early for a new single to be released if the album is not due until sometime in november... just saying... Céline also said there will be a single BEFORE Summer. And they officially advertised the album is coming in the "Fall". That could mean anytime between late September and late December. Also, she has done it before... 'Parler a mon pere' was released early July, while the album ('Sans attendre') was released in November too. 3. & how we even know if its an ACTUAL song that will be on the new album & not just an "advertising snippet" of a song for that tour commercial, just like back in 2002/2003 when she had that song "LIVE TO LOVE" or whatever it was called on the "celine dion perfumes" commercial (for those who have NO IDEA what i am talking about, it was the one with celine on a swing in a lavendar colored dress & flowers in her hair...) & i remember that nobody has yet to hear the whole song, it was ONLY in that commercial, & who even knows if celine had ever recorded THAT WHOLE SONG or not, i guess we all will never know about that one too lol... We don't, but it makes sense as it's used in the video. And we have Sia tweeting about Céline nailing "Baby" (could be about this song, could be about another). Also Céline's comments during the LA event clearly indicated it was an actual (and new) song. BUT a lot is still speculation, so we'll see what happens 3 Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY

Huh?It's called an opinion. Referring solely and clearly to a 15-sec snippet. For you to put words in my mouth and extrapolate it to the entire song, nay, the entire album, is offensive. And, if your reaction to an opinion that what little we heard is derivative is to blatantly tell me to go away, perhaps you need a thicker skin.
