You can say youre not particularly excited for an album or that youre not that into the single presented, thats free speech

 

 

But dont reply to someones who's clearly very excited and tell them oh yeah, dont bother, its gonna be garbage, no cohesion, dont bother. Thats just incalled for and rude

 

And hes saying "again" so if he believes that many of her previous albums have been that bad, why bother staying on a forum for dedicated fans and bringing others down ?

 

Eveyone is free to write his/her own opinion! If you or anybody here doesn't like what another person write, you can just ignore or block them.

Theres a difference between having an opinion and bringing someones hopes down about an album and in essence saying the album is gonna be garbage, dont bother getting excited thats just being cruel.

I say this a few posts back, this album has promises for be a very big comeback, maybe not like ANDHC... but with a Celine mature, decided...

I want a few power ballads, please! She's the queen of power ballads!

The next time I write something 'negative' about the album, the tour, etc. I will have to ask myself 'Am I hurting the special snowflakes of this forum?', 'Am I bringing the hopes of the people down?', 'Am I that disguisting monster that destroys the utopia of positivity and happiness?'. If the answer is yes, I will run to the church and ask the Lord to forgive my crimes.

 

P.S. I do not like the posts that say 'OMG, I have a feeling it will be the best album ever!!! OMG, she will win an Oscar and 3 Grammies this time' and I do not like the posts that say 'This will be an album full of sh***ty songs' BEFORE even listening to the songs. But I will not ask people to stop writing their opinion.

It’s one thing to state your opinion. I think what Dion2000 was trying to get at was to not directly quote someone who has written a post about being excited and shít on it. Maybe it seems like someone is being singled out and telling them that their excitement has no merit? Idk, that what I’m taking from this whole thing.

Heres an analogy : And also, it someone is very excited, say for example a 8 year old kid is excited about Santa and says “damn, i cant wait for Santa to come give me presents im so excited for what they could be” and theyre older sibling says “Dude, santa isnt real and youre gonna hate your presents, mom and dad didnt get what you asked for”

My point is stating your opinion is stating your opinion. Which is more than welcomed. Lord knows I’ve stated my fair share. Singling out someone’s post of excitement and telling them their hopes are basically garbage is just rude and doesn’t really add to the conversation.

 

I understand people not having high expectations based on the past. And I’ll read and understand the frustration. But I won’t use my frustration to tell someone else they shouldn’t be excited. Their excitement isn’t hurting me or anyone else.

 

I am ALL ABOUT calling people out on foolishness and shared misinformation. But directly making someone feel bad about their excitement is just rude.

 

You’re generally upbeat on here, so I’m not really understanding where this attitude on you is coming from.

The analogy is not valid to me, but anyway, I believe that if someone (you for example) have a strong belief (that it is gonna be a great album, for example) why bother and get disappointed if someone here writes the opposite? Believe in your ideas and let the time prove if it is a good album or not.

Thats the thing, its not about people changing your opinion. Its about saying someones opinion is wrong or in valid, i think Freds opinion is valid, but dont tell some elses theres is wrong and not to be excited. Its rude.

 

But I respect your opinion so if thats what you feel then whatever. Like there is no simpler I or anyone else can get to explain this to you
