Laura P. and L. Fabian are famous worldwide and sing in several languages, but both were never big in the UK and US. Because the record companies market them as Celine copies.

Not being big or successful in the US doesn't mean you aren't a big name in music and in the music industry. Laura Pausini hadn't much success in English but she's truly a legend in the Spanish/Latin market and of course in her native Italy.

Like I said, more than 50% of the music recorded and performed worldwide is in Spanish, and not only that, the Spanish-speaking market in music is as important as the English-speaking music today, and Laura is known everywhere in this market... It's not gibberish.

When Celine was in hiatus 2000, Lara released her first English album and Sony promoted her as Celine Dion copy+ the industry changed a lot. Lara did't have a chance in the US. Her hit Love again was big in Europe, that I think was enough for her.

Kylie M. is another great example, she is famous worldwide, but not in the US.

Celine, what about a duet with our Helene. WillingAgitatedAtlanticsharpnosepuffer-size_restricted.gif

Indeed! First impressions can be misleading sometimes...

Also 90% of Celine's fanbase don't use instagram. Instagram is a social network addressed to very young people from teens to 35-40, and we know Céline's majority of fans consists of people from ages 50 and up :hmm:

Hmmz Thats What we think, but every time I’ve seen Celine in concert or with fans on shows, it really is a cross section of people all ages. Well not all, from 30+ I’m always surprised about the audience I see.

And Laura isn’t very young either. Her first record is also from 1992 or 3? So she must be at least in her mid 40s

Well, if you say from the start "who's Laura Pausini" you start the wrong way dear, it proves again it's no worth to discuss anything with you :wtf: :sofunny: :sofunny: :sofunny:

Without pretending to ridicule you, but I'll show you how ridiculous you are with your ignorant posts...

For your information, if you don't know who Laura Pausini is, she has sold over 80 million albums in her career, so she has a couple of things to say in the industry and she has gained great respect worldwide singing not only in Italian and Spanish, but also has recorded in English and duets with Andrea Bocelli, Helene Segara, Kylie Minogue and legends like Luciano Pavarotti and Charles Aznavour too -oh same names as Céline!- (which you probably haven't heard of), so she has little to envy to Céline's collaborations because she has recorded with some of the same BIG names and even beyond that because she didn't limit herself to her native Italian language but also recorded with big artists in Spanish too (like Alejandro Sanz and Gloria Estefan or huge legends in Latin America like Juan Gabriel).

And to top it all, if that wasn't enough credit she also participated in the Spanish version of Michael Jackson's song "What More Can I Give" (Todo para ti) in 2001, next to other names like Julio Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Thalía, Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey and... surprise! our Céline Dion too.

Who's Laura Pausini? Must be someone to be considered by Michael Jackson himself to collaborate with him :innocent:

She's a legend in Italy and a respected artist worldwide, and her popularity became so prominent specially in the latin/Spanish market during the last 15 years (a market that represents more than 50% of the music recorded and performed worldwide fyi). She's at the same level as Miguel Bosé, another hugely popular singer in Italian and Spanish worldwide (but you probably have no idea who this is again). And please note I'm not a big fan, but I know who is who in the industry despite not being a fan.

With posts like these and that arrogance of yours again you show no knowledge of many things sorry, from Celine's career to lots of names in the industry out there. Must be something about being just 18 I guess :hmm:

Please educate yourself a bit before speaking next time https://en.wikipedia...i/Laura_Pausini  :bye1:

Youre hilarious attempts to try and insult me ASTOUND.

Thank you for addressing all my points as per ususal (you once again only focused on a point you could exploit which was actually SHADE. I know who Laura Pausini is, when you are able to seperate shade/sarcasm from the actual truth, please get back to me)

I know who Laura Pausini is, ive got 2 of her albums “Laura” and “La Mia Risposta”. I actually have an advanced higher (the equivalent of the first year of a university course) in Italian and I love alot of her discography, once again SHADE.

I admit the joke may have been in poor taste as it was simply due to your astonishment that Celine HASNT duetted with her (as if she has to). Thats why, it was to annoy you. So i see it worked.

Anyway. Id love to hear why you havent responded to my other points from that post but i can imagine why :innocent:

She is almost 45 but she is really into social media.

I wouldn't call her ww famous either. She and her team always exaggerates it. She is a true superstar in Italy and Latin markets but her albums enter charts in what? 15 countries maybe?

Anyway, she has by far the most creative media team. Her team outshines any real ww famous popstar's.

Her last album has already 6 singles and all with MV although it sold only 100.000 in her biggest market (Italy).

She is the proof promotion can go on even in case of flop. All popstars should learn from her on this.

Didn't reply to anything else because there's anything of your "points" to discuss, since all what you said are just merely assumptions and FALSE. I didn't enter to discuss Mariah Carey nor Whitney Houston and who they have dueted with, I just said Laura has approached Céline several times and Céline has always said "no", and this is publicly said from Laura's mouth, she has tried and tried. However Céline always finds good time to duet with male singers, especially if they are older than her :innocent:

However now that you compare with others and particularly Whitney, she has dueted with:

Females:

Mariah Carey (recorded)

Aretha Franklin (recorded)

Cece Winans (recorded)

Cissy Houston (recorded)

Natalie Cole (live)

Dionne Warwick (live)

Annie Lennox (recorded)

Missy Elliot (recorded)

Faith Evans (recorded)

Kelly Price (recorded)

Shirley Caesar (recorded)

Brandy Norwood (recorded)

Deborah Cox (recorded)

Mary J. Blige (live)

Bobbi Christina Brown (okay will not count this as a duet but she recorded with her daughter on her Christmas album)

Males:

George Michael

Stevie Wonder

Enrique Iglesias

Jason Sparks

Teddy Pendergrass

R. Kelly

Ray J

Akon

Jermaine Jackson

Bobby Brown

So you want me to reply to your "points", let's see:

Many females in general (not just legends) very rarely duet with other women on records, and they duet slightly more often live.

14 females against 10 males (some of which are very small collabs or just doing background vocals in the song).

And out of 14 female collaborations, only 3 were done only live, the rest were recorded in the studio to be released on an album.

So Whitney practically did a collaboration with virtually all the big names in her soul genre back in the day, and these were most with other women and recorded in the studio -surprise! :whee:

Not to mention that in some of these collabs she dueted not only with one more woman but two in songs like Heartbreak Hotel! And in movies like Waiting to Exhale and Preacher's Wife she was mostly surrounded by... women singing with her!! -shocking! :w00t:

Ouch... you're wrong again in your "points" :innocent:  Need to review your arrogance again before posting?

I think she actually has a sizable millennial audience - and it could be much more if she actually engaged on social media. There are plenty of people who are fans of her persona and IG fashion, but not necessarily her music. If they were aware of more than just "the Titanic song" - perhaps they could be. (I mean, her French catalog would be entirely at home in any hipster coffee bar in Brooklyn!)

I get that it may not be "her thing" and not something she may regard as essential, but it's hugely effective. She has improved, for sure, but I still don't think she realizes to what degree social media (and digital presence, in general) is a huge megaphone. If she actually engaged in 2-way communication from time to time, or posted more than just fashion shots, promos and RIP messages, it could be a very effective tool for her. Post about music she's listening to / curated playlists, more FB-live type things (and I don't mean her annual Christmas message!), IG stories from the studio or rehearsal, etc...

It seems like the younger folks look at Celine as a Barbra Streisand-type. They can pretty much only name My Heart Will Go On but they know she's an Iconic singer, and they'd probably know more songs if they heard them.

Ahaha MY ARROGANCE. THATS ABSOLUTELY INSANELY HILARIOUS.

Im sure many here would regard you as the most arrogant member of the forum but i suppose ignorance is bliss

Anyway, youre going on about Whitney duetting with women within her own genre....... HOW MANY FEMALE / FEMALE DUETS DO YOU SEE IN ROMANTIC BALLADS LOL

Its 99.9% of the time Male / Female, as if lesbian rumours werent enough by simple accusation, i highly doubt it wouldve been ignored had she done multiple duets with women on such romantic songs, usually talking about loving the other person.

And as such, Celine has duetted with :

Barbra Streisand (album)

Claudette (our favourite sibling)

Yuna Ito (album)

Aretha Franklin (Live)

Anastacia (live)

Gloria Estefan (live)

Carole King (Album / live)

Ginette Reno (Live)

Maurane (Live)

Charice (Live)

Rosie O’Donell ( :giggle: )

Id hardly say Celine has a lack of performing with female singers, especially not live.... which imo is way more nerve wracking than a studio session

"Being accused with lesbians rumours" now, what are you talking about??? Now is because of lesbianism. Rrrrright. Do you ever read yourself to see the amount of contradiction and stupidity you can say??

So you enthusiastically applaud Céline's engagement with Nununu project for her audacity stepping out of her comfort zone bringing up gender free and transgender issues with clothing, but you would be afraid or rather not have duets of two women singing of love for fear of being attacked with "rumours of lesbianism"?? Can you be more contradictory with your opinions? One day you're preaching here about the problems of transgender people and the greatness of Céline's gender-free sponsorship and the next day you're defending the male/female duets because if two women sing together about love they will be accused of beind lesbians. Okay!!  :whee: :mdr:

Truthfully, all I know of Helene Fischer is that Cirque du Soleil was behind her latest tour (

She is a German/Russian singer with a training in the musical field and sings mainly in German, but also had duets with Bocelli and Bolton. And she is a big Celine fan.

I started following her when there was an ultra long Celine-silence. Vocally she definitely cannot keep up with Celine, but I like her shows and the music is fun too. She puts a lot of effort into her shows and she copies Celine a lot ;) I like her rendition of TPOL

Yeah, I've read wiki. Sorry, didn't mean for that to come off as dismissive! :)

I'm just saying she's on my radar because I follow all things Cirque, and her tour was a big project for 45 Degrees.

Look at the latest release of Aguilera and Carey...

But before Céline's flop, I think we will experience Madonna's. Lol

Again, completely missing the point of my post AGAIN trying to focus on something by taking it out of context and trying to make people look stupid, rather than respond to any of the criticism or points made toward you, you act like a child and try and be sarcastic however youre just rude and arrogant through and through.

What i SAID was that female/female duets are hard to find as most of Celines genre are love songs, if she had done the prayer with Mariah, they wouldve been saying “Long time rumours confirmed, Celine dion is a lesbian” the tabloids had that fun for A LONG time with Celine, giving that you probably forgot this I’ll ignore it.

Either way... my point stands

I suppose this by now so famous Celine-silence will continue till next year when she finishes Vegas. And if there will be any boom at all, it will be by the end of her residency. I hope they handle her comeback with the new album right and don’t miss lots of opportunities
