Javito Posted October 21, 2016 at 07:05 PM Posted October 21, 2016 at 07:05 PM (edited) LMBTL was a rushed album in every way. It was almost disgusting to see the recording sessions, how everyone was like in a hurry as if they wanted to do the work as soon as possible and get rid of the damn song, except for the main single. But for the rest of the songs we got to see, it was painful. There was barely any excitement in the producers, perhaps only with SLS they really felt like their time with Celine was a magic moment. However, TC sessions were absolutely the contrary to LMBTL. All the time that was needed was spent to record this album. She spent time in the recording studio with all the producers, to record the song as they wanted it to be. She spent time allowing each and every songwriter to explain her the songs. No rush here, she had a great time and lots of fun recording this album, and this shows when you listen the record Wish those days where Céline dedicated the time it was needed to record an album came back, like with TC, ANDHC etc. Today it feels as if their feet burn when they step in the recording studio Edited October 21, 2016 at 07:06 PM by Javito 3 Quote "Hush, now... pat200 Posted October 21, 2016 at 07:26 PM Posted October 21, 2016 at 07:26 PM TC making of album featured some amazing live vocals actually recorded during the sessions unlike LMBTL which barely had a total of 10 seconds of live vocals from the sessions. I do not know why probably because the raw vocals of Celine were a bit tired like is evident in SLS which has amazing polishing done to the final product. 3 Quote

Angel2006 Posted October 21, 2016 at 09:08 PM Posted October 21, 2016 at 09:08 PM My ultimate list right now is a duets album. I know alot of people argue that it puts Celine in a category of "old lady", but Celine is good at duets and truly seems to enjoy them. Celine could totally do a duets album, while still making it young and fresh. If she picks artists who are current, but also wouldn't be a strange fit alongside Celine, like Adele, Carrie Underwood, Kieza, Jessie J. Mixed with timeless artists, like Michael Bolton, Seal, Sarah Brightman, and Gennette Reno. This kind of an album for Celine could have the potential to be really good, if she chooses a good amount of well known, current artists and mixes in a few of the classic oldies we all know Celine loves so much. RC and the twins could even be a part of it, if they wanted to. RC seems to like getting involved in things more and more and he sure seemed to like being James Bond in the Celine show a few years back. My other wish is for another Christmas album, so why not put the two together. A Celine Christmas duets album! In my opinion, Celine needs to do something like this right now. Something fun and uplifting. Being in the studio with all different artists, I know Celine would have so much fun. Celine could even do a duet with her brothers and sisters again. She always has so much fun when she brings her family into the studio. This could also be a chance for Celine to work with any artists that she really wants to work with, but hasn't had a chance to sing with yet, like Adele and Sia. I think it would also get alot of media attention. 2 Quote

mirage Posted October 21, 2016 at 10:02 PM Posted October 21, 2016 at 10:02 PM What's the point of recording an English album, when you never ever gonna perform at least 10 songs of it?! Anyway I would love to hear an acoustic/orchestral/piano version of LMBTL. Don't understand why they don't take any risks. Hope that lyrically the songs have a bit more depth. And a great mix of uptempo, slow songs, ballads. 2 Quote

Of course they did, otherwise we would have gotten like 10+ hours of footage since she likely spent an average of half an hour if not most recording each song and with each producer/songwriter in the studio. And we only got to see 8 songs out of 18. But I'm thankful they released that DVD with the making of the album. It's one of the greatest sessions captured on video we ever had. browseceline Posted October 22, 2016 at 08:32 AM Posted October 22, 2016 at 08:32 AM I would love if Sia wrote a song that is much different then what Sia is known for. I'd love a song with a soft first verse, chorus, and a second verse that slowly builds up to a bombastic chorus that dies back down. I think a song that shows off what she can do, but not an entirely shouty song would be appropriate. I love the songs that show Céline can sing, but sometimes i wish they weren't all loud, if that even makes any sense.Exactly, sometimes the screaming is not needed. browseceline Posted October 22, 2016 at 08:34 AM Posted October 22, 2016 at 08:34 AM To me, LMBTL was the perfect song. The only thing that bothers me is that just a few months later , Sia was literally everywhere with "Chandelier" which is some kind of LMBTL. Worse: "Chandelier" is even more simple : no bombastic intro, no bridge and a way more repetitive ending ( at least , Céline's song has some vocal layers and guitar riffs). Sia literally stopped singing after the second verse as the rest is no more than a copy/paste.Even their way of singing the verses are the same. Sia's song was shouty, I don't think Céline was : it was only pureness and fluidity, I might be biaised here but it seems it comes out so easily ( OMG: she sounds like godness in the pre-chorus) while Sia is struggling... Of course, the live performances were not all of them perfect but nothing to be ashamed of when I hear some Sia's live performances. This case is a real example of how the music industry : Céline was completely ignored by radio and thus commercially failed but Sia was completely embraced in the same period of time ...with more or less the same song. What i do not like either that the original demo by Sia came on youtube as soon as Celine her version came on youtuhe. Demos should not leak Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G901F met Tapatalk Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

DOS 1.Loved Me Back To Life2.Somebody Loves Somebody 3.Didn't Know Love4.Thankful5.Sia6.Eg White DON'TS 1.Las Vegas covers. Only exception being a studio version of Over The Rainbow.2.Karaoke covers like Breakaway.3.Raspy vocals.4.Cheesy, done-to-death lyrics as in Always Be Your Girl.5.Diane Warren6.Black & White album cover.I agree! What's in Vegas should stay in Vegas. And yes, breakaway was nice but a talentshow winner already had a hit with it and that hit sounds quite like Celine's. Gone specialness. It should be songs that are specifically written for her. Reason for her not singing lmbtl anymore might be because of the lyrics that go to deep and remind her of the sickness of her husband Rene who passed away. Black and white albumcovers ..wel they might work but it is time to leave the all white backgrounds and go outside and make beautiful photos related to the theme of the album. And yes no more raspiness out of bed voices. isurrender Posted October 22, 2016 at 03:11 PM Posted October 22, 2016 at 03:11 PM (edited) I was disappointed that Celine made a note-to-note copy of the original. She added nothing to Breakaway. Her voice was also edited, came off very thin and high! I guess you don't like any of her covers then... (or at least, most of them). I love "Breakaway" a lot. I don't give a d*** about the original...it's not like I knew the song before or I listen to it. It seems a pretty biased opinion to me, or at least that's not a valid reason. I mean... everybody not liking BA because it's quite similar to the original should dislike FYI as well ( for instance). A song where they didn't even bother to re-record the instrumental. What's valid for a song should be for another one, isn't it? And actually, Breakaway is rather different. Céline's vocals are more powerful and convincing. She stresses more the words. It's more dramatic as it was re-arranged with high and low parts (not vocally, but musically... it's like a rollercoaster of emotions). That song is sad and kind of depressing...Ivi sings it like a walk in the wood. Anyway, that song brought something different to Céline's repertoire. Musically, it has a r'n'b touch and a modern beat. That's the first (and actually the only one to date) ballad where her voice was edited (not in a "changed" way but "used" way) like the big ballads from the UK of these last years. No wonder why they released it over there. Unfortunately, they didn't push it. Céline should have visited 2 big radio stations and sing it live (acoustically or not) in the studio like all the artists do in the UK. ( something not common in France for example, or very rarely). I don't know how pitched or whatever her voice was in the studio. But I don't understand why you hear it "high" as actually it was praised for using her "low voice" ( in the verses at least)...I won't buy any hypothesis about her voice being edited in this song unless any kind of proof. lol Céline can do a lot things with her voice ( just listen to her tone when she sings "she's amazing" @ CBS morning. Nobody can't recognize her voice if we don't know it's her). Unfortunately, she didn't bother to sing it live even ONCE (pretty weird for someone who sang it all the time before recording it. René's words).I'm just waiting for the recording sessions like some are waiting for the dvd of the last tour lol I know they exist. A journalist attended the recording and made an article back then. More generally,I think LMBTL was rushed too. In a way they didn't know what to do. But beside some fillers in the second part of the album, songs are pretty good taken one by one. Actually, it's too short (at least, the "modern" part).Strangely, it was one of the best albums, critically speaking ( if not the best). But yeah, I think it's weird some people don't like it for some reasons all of her albums have (just like the polish thingy... that's the principle of a studio album.). And to be honest, I think it's the one that was the least edited. Before, her voice was mixed with overproduced music. But I think she explained that during her promo tour ( not that I believe eveything she says... lol) Edited October 22, 2016 at 03:12 PM by isurrender 1 Quote
