Unfortunately it's wishful thinking I guess it should be tied with a big movie (like James Bond) in order to get attention... or Céline visiously has to promote the song on any platform possible (yes also with a killer video and great remixes!)

True, but Sony do have plans for her to do a little promo for the album, for certain countries.

Like last time it's likely the media will go to her to listen to the album and interview her.

I think by this point the first single and music video will have been selected/done and be released when these interviews air.

 

Then when she's here next year... they will probably cram in one/two full days promo per country to push the album/promote the next single.

 

Sony said last year it's hard to schedule when she's touring multiple cities though!

 

With the last french album she was based in Paris for a while so that was easy to squeeze in promo/appearances.

But even then it wasn't much

It has something to do with the two different contracts ( touring/ record label ), that make it difficult, from what I've been told... regardless over the last 2 years a lot more people especially the younger generation are now aware of her, for different reasons which is great as a lot of great decisions and the direction in which she is promoted/put out there has been updated in those 2 years.

 

For now I'm just excited to see the new holiday video message

No, that would be "perfect". Well, a tour as well would be perfect, but you know. Realistically though, she'll finish and release the album, but hardly do any promo and no videos. Maybe a new photoshoot for the album, maybe.

She has between now and Xmas to finish the album, and do the photo shoot for the album sleeve/tour book for next year.

 

Late January they will select the singles from the album and maybe shoot 1/2 music videos then release it late March/April

If they did it like this, it would make it ideal! About tour in 2018 I ´d also rather she didn´t do live tour next year, and then in 2019 take a break from Vegas and go on tour!

Shania Twain had videos to promote her singles from her new album, Lara Fabian had videos too and her new cd was a failure.

Celine needs a new music video, I do not understand what's going on, EUS was a blockbuster and has no videos. The way to promote music nowadays has changed, she needs new clips.

It would make sense to take advantage of awards season to promote this baby!!

If How Does a Moment Last Forever is nominated for some awards, then I guess it will be included on the album.

And if Céline shows up at those award shows, she could just decide to sing her new single instead!!

I think a music video for the English album is essential. But it's not essential in French in my opinion as it's a much smaller market and people hear about Céline's new album - with or without a video... With EUS's major success, I guess Sony will never want to finance another video for her French music as her album sells anyway! I'm afraid that could happen.

No. Actually that's what I wanted this year, to rest and concentrate on the promo of the French album and then the English album, so that she could come back with a big tour in 2018...

 

So yeah, I really hope she releases the best English album of her career in 2018, even if it's by Fall, and stop touring like crazy when she has nothing new to give to the audiences. Or is she touring now on a yearly basis, all of a sudden? Then fans who wish new music to be released, they better not complain.

Do not say that, if she does not record videos for her French CDs, which are a hit, then in her English albums that will never happen.

 

I hope to believe they will release a new video soon.

 

Celine then releases professional videos of her shows in Europe, we will be happy.

Parler A Mon Pere has 51.548.988 views at the moment and is her 9th best watched video, so in French her music videos are not to be underestimated! In comparison PQTME 'only' has 63.674.148 views...

 

A great video is essential because 'kids' 'listen' to music nowadays through watching youtube videos. If she has a great video, the younger generation will catch up on it and it can gain loads of views in a small amount of time!

Not gonna happen. She has young children whom she wants to have a stable life, friends, some semblance of a routine. I highly doubt she'd uproot them. A summer vacation is one thing, but regularly hopping around the world is quite another.

What I still find amazing is the demand of Celine is sooo big right now, and it still feels that her team doesn't notice it, won't do anything to feed the hunger.

 

For me it seems so easy to just release an EP right before she starts the tour, or during the tour with 5 "live" songs, a Christmas EP, a single just because she can.

Now is the time to milk the moneycow! She is everywhere!

I noticed she has like 4 weeks "off" between april/may, so she will be in her pj's all day, or do a few appearances to promote the album.

All depend when it's going to be released of course.

 

Hope they will do a decent promo, the album and she deserve it.

 

However the lack of promo whatsoever this last summer makes me a bit sceptical.

I don't think that's milking the money cow, just understanding what to do to keep a (legendary) artist relevant and working on her legacy

Do the math - if she sells 1.2 million copies of Encore un soir at $8 average per unit (probably too low but whatever) and she's getting 25% of that, she makes nearly $2.5 million. Do you really believe that to be dismal?

 

If you're comparing to the 90s, everything is dismal. Ultimately, she needs to put out new records to give fans a reason to see her in concert.

For my wallet it's not dismal, but for the artist who put all their time and heart into a record of 12-14 songs (sometimes recording 20-30), then yes...that's a dismal amount of money. That's about as much, more likely less than the record took to create.
