LuisMa Posted December 8, 2013 at 05:55 PM Posted December 8, 2013 at 05:55 PM (edited) I don't think it's that hard to make, if you buy printable transparent plastic decal sheets to print the logo, and then take the pic to a photo center to make it into a magnet. Voilà, your customized tissue holder. I should have patented it. Edited December 8, 2013 at 05:55 PM by LuisMa 2 Quote

Once it was discussed during that TV Special in Quebec, it reached Top 20 on Canadian I tunes and its video on YouTube got much more views than any other song of 'Sans Attendre'! I guess the public finds the combination of 'Celine + kids + drama' quite interesting! Edited December 8, 2013 at 07:43 PM by LukeD 3 Quote

Jessyka Posted December 8, 2013 at 08:24 PM Posted December 8, 2013 at 08:24 PM If she only sings 'Thankful' live with a choir... Popular Post smw Posted December 8, 2013 at 08:44 PM Popular Post Posted December 8, 2013 at 08:44 PM (edited) If she only sings 'Thankful' live with a choir... That would do wonders for her image and would totally showcase the 'conservative' side of her album. The greatest thing about this special -- from a marketing standpoint -- is that it's inherently conservative. It's Celine feeding into the market that has bought her albums here since the beginning. Celine (both with TC and LMBTL) has showcased an edgier, more carefree side of image. And that, unfortunately, has not translated well to the conservative fan base in which her career is reliant upon. The US market has been very tricky for this new album. (I still think it's because we lacked the Oprah platform). Luckily, even with lower sales, it still reached #2 on the Billboard Chart -- which looked great. But this special could really help the album out in a big way (one big final push for CHRISTMAS SALES!!) I think it would be wise for her to lay LMBTL (the song) to rest for this special. Honestly, I'm ready for other songs to be showcased from the album. And it would do the album good for her to sing the middle-of-the-road Celine songs: Thankful, Thank You, Unfinished Songs. And then Incredible! I know we wouldn't all agree with this -- but Celine singing a medley of her hits would be wise for this tricky US market. Just a quick, nice, medley of some of her big hits totally LIVE. Sadly, I think the US audience needs to be reminded of her grandeur. So The Power of Love, Because You Loved Me, My Heart Will Go On, The Prayer and Beauty and the Beast would do the trick. (Or some of these) Something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNg8KODr3nM I wonder how they'll angle the song selections towards Christmas: I would love a rarely-performed track from TAST. Or a medley of Christmas songs. I know it's only a short special -- and we shouldn't set our hopes too high. More than anything -- I hope she performs songs that make sense for the special and make sense for the audience that supports her here in the US. The edgy thing is not working here. It's sad but true. So she needs to CHEESE IT UP, wear gorgeous gowns, and make folks cry with her epic voice! Edited December 8, 2013 at 09:10 PM by smw 11 Quote

The more conservative and 'old-school', the better for US. 9 out 10 of her Top 10 hits are power ballads, modern songs from her are ignored. Quote
flutefreak Posted December 8, 2013 at 09:33 PM Posted December 8, 2013 at 09:33 PM So who is this Chris Young that is also supposed to be on the show? I don't recognize the name. Do you think it is possible that she may duet with him/her? I'm hoping she'll sing more than 1 or 2 songs but if it's only an hour we may not get much unless she duets with both Chris and Ne-yo. Plus I'm sure they'll talk/tell stories of adoption. Anyway, I'm excited to see what this will be like! Quote

Maybe that's why the TC promo worked so well, as she was only performing TC (sometimes Alone too), but alongside old hits such as BYLM, IDAN and MHWGO. I thought the LMBTL promo was refreshing for focusing purely on the new album and performing more than just the first single (SLS, WAAF, etc), but maybe the US market does need some old-style Celine to go with the new sound? Yes, they definitely need 'old-style-Celine' in order to buy her album. No other market has been so hard with Celine, any modern song the past 10 years has failed to make a real impact on charts there or even receive a certification. Some of her major singles such as 'I'm Alive', 'Have You Ever Been In Love', 'Alone' did not even make the Hot 100 and even the 3 songs that made it to the chart ended up with rather low peak positions. Other markets received her music much better, she did manage to score hits in Canada and Europe Top 100! This made me think that the US market wants only one thing from Celine: Power Ballads. It is not by chance that her latest Vegas show consists of around 15 ballads! The creators knew that people there expect ballads from Celine, hence every concert was sold-out making the show #1. Talking about the promotion so far, I really admired the fact that Celine only performed songs from her new album and didn't resort to her old material. She should keep up like that, in my opinion. It's just that she now needs to pick more conservative songs from her new album (enough of 'Loved Me Back To Life', 'Somebody Loves Somebody' and 'Water And A Flame'). For me, the best choices would be 'Overjoyed' and 'Thankful' and if she appears in a big show such as 'The Voice' or 'Americal Idol', then 'Didn't Know Love' or 'Breakaway' seem more appropriate because they are ballads, but modern ones, so chances are she'll manage to please both her AC followers and the young people who watch these shows. It is a bit discouraging -- that people remain close minded -- but I guess we could focus on the positive side: that she is known for her Voice. And people want to hear songs that showcase that voice and her eloquent Diva persona. (Which, to many, translate as cheesy) 1 Quote

I wish she'd sing at least one song and have her enter the country charts at least once. She's charted on pop, r&b, dance and the Latin charts. That's the one piece missing for total domination.
