The album has been out a month, guess the "honeymoon stage" is over among the fans cause today the forum is FULL of negativity about it and how cheap it seems....

I'm still loving it, and listening to it everyday!

Yeah not officially... but everybody in France knows the main cause and reason of existence of this tour was the success of that album and that she was coming to sing those new songs in concert.

Blah.

I find the thought that when a tour is called after a song, it has to be performed, só cliché/old-fashioned. Just like releasing the title track as a single.

Kudos for them doing something differently for once.

The fact that the album sold over 170k in Canada so far makes me think SONY US will take note and promote the album properly. It has shown huge potential! Edited by LukeD

I agree, Luke dear. It's sometimes great when success doesn't come all at once and then the album goes down the drain. I'd rather see this one have amazing legs, and I think it will. ;)

Well for this album we got nothing of both options. Most of the fans in this forum agreed (if not everyone) that "Attendre" was screaming to be a single and that it should be performed, and it was not single nor performed a single time (except for that minute and a half playback performance in a TV show the past year). I respect when they try to do different things, but naming the album after a song and ignoring it, to me that's not doing something different, that's being stupid and neglecting another GREAT song (another one to the already loooong list) :innocent:

I agree that "Attendre" was a great contender for a single, but the album did incredibly well, and even if the tour was called the "SA" tour, I wouldn't see an inconvenience that the song was not performed, as us the fans know the song very well, and probably a large percentage of the tour attendees did listen to it, but many people didn't and still several songs were performed from the album, including some that I didn't expect to be. (Le Miracle was not performed in any of the dates I attended, and while I don't like QPVSA and I wanted to listen to LM, I don't regret having seen QPVSA live).

There are many other Celine albums whose title songs were not released as singles.

Just got my Japan edition. LOVING the version of "Open Arms." In the LQ version that leaked, I wasn't too sure but it sounds AMAZING in HQ!!!

There's more than "fans on this forum".

And a lot of fans also wanted "Qui peut vivre sans amour" to be a single, and look what it did (it would've gone the same way with "Attendre").

However all of them were performed at some point :). The Colour of My Love, Let's Talk About Love, These Are Special Times, All The Way... This comes to be the first album where they totally ignore the song after which they gave the tile of the album. It's not the end of the world, but its so weird. If one album has a song that they chose to give it the title, its because there's an important reason and there's a meaning for the artist behind that choice, and normally the artist wants to show that meaning and perform that song. But... not in Célineland. Here what seems logical and of common sense, its just the opposite :giggle:

I think "Attendre" was performed at least once when she promoted SA last year, wasn't it? I guess it was not live, but it was on one or two of the French TV shows last year.

Yes, I mentioned it before, but unfortunately its only 1 minute and a half or so, not the full song :(

Oh, I see!

Let's see if a miracle happens tonight or tomorrow and you'll be happy she performed it in the Mini Tour.

Heck I'll also be happy if she did. It's a wonderful song. :D

I agree that QPVSA is a better song for the stage than LM is...

It sounds amazing live and livens up the crowd!!!

I don't know why it flopped, the lyrics are really powerful. I think Céline will continue performing this song live in her french tours, hopefully, a bit like a new "Dans Un Autre Monde"

I really don't like it, but I agree. She performs it with such passion and the audience gets that energy and starts clapping and dancing! It was amazing. Much better staged than "Loved Me Back To Life" IMO.

Anyway, if this new album continues to do amazing and sells well throughout the holidays and the start of the new year, if they organize another Mini Tour I feel so much potential for the new uptempo songs to have great visuals and energy, and for the new ballads to hypnotize audiences.

The fact that we don't have a music video for any of the songs is very frustrating.

It flopped because it is not radio friendly, and the chorus, while powerful, is almost tuneless. A great song for the album and for concerts indeed, but not for radios! Same goes for ''Le Miracle''. In my opinion, ''Attendre'' would have been great for radios, but rather weak for the stage. It's quite strange..! I also noticed that ''Loved Me Back To Life'' lost its magic in most performances, while ''Breakaway'', ''Incredible'', ''Didn't Know Love'' and ''Water And A Flame'' are the only songs of the album that can shine both in concert and in radios. What is frustrating is her VEVO account description ''music video of Celine Dion performing...'' for the AUDIO-video of 'Loved Me Back To Life'. :wtf: Like they're playing with our nerves. :pinch: Edited by LukeD

Stuart, you got it really fast! Where did you buy it? :)

I pre-ordered at cdjapan and paid extra for fedex 2-3 day shipping. Still worked out £5 cheaper than amazon.co.uk. who wanted over £31 and gave me an estimate of 23 Dec. No customs fee either.

Don't know if these open arms credits will be readable at this size, took them with my phone post-13202-0-88772300-1386192890_thumb.jpg

I wish she would perform on X Factor US finale.

That would be so nice if she did. We are watching X Factor US now in South Africa, I think we are into the last 8 or 6. I really enjoy it a lot.

That's cool thanks! I also should have preordered...

Wait, when did she perform These Are Special Times? How do I not know about that? I would love to see that!

Also, I understand your frustation, but I do think it's a little different here -- they didn't name the album the title of the song - (the title is just "Attendre") -- they named it "Sans Attendre." It's more a concept than a song . .about living your life and embracing the moment without waiting for some uncertain future. It's a concept that encompasses the whole album about all the different relationships in Celine's life.

Also, it would be kinda funny if it were called the Parler a Mon Pere tour. :giggle:

And also, this song means a lot to many fans because it's the opening of the show, and it's directly adressed to the fans ("so now I come to you with open arms").

Wow - I never thought of it that way. I really like that idea!

Is there a place where i can get or buy the mp3 of Open Arms in HQ? Waiting my physical copy

It's hard not to see it though :-D, because she litterally opens her arms towards the audience as the curtain falls down !

They could have done with Open Arms what they did with The Reason I Go On: sell it just for people pre-ordering the album on iTunes. There were no advantages pre-ordering the album this time. We didn't even save a dollar. Edited by zuv

Thank you Dhruvie! Looking forward to seeing what develops here, though I'll miss the other one.
