The thing that surprised me the most is when she said she might become a producer! that would be cool!

 

And she still mentioned that she wanted to act. I wonder if it will finally happen someday...

That was a lot of fun, but man, lots of repeat questions from Larry! Surely he has a team that can look that stuff up for him.

Celine was great. People pick apart her english, but man, she picks up everything , asks questions, and there's never a problem understanding her. Her english is fabulous and she keeps getting better.

 

I wonder if she was referring to her performance of LMBTL when she said that sometimes singing is the last thing she wants to be doing when she's not doing her best, It seemed rather fresh in her mind.

I can't believe she broke out into a Sheryl Crowe song, I wouldn't thought she was into that music! I love when Celine talked about her passion still. She has a way of really being open with Larry like no other English interviewer.

Finally, a good interview. The real, in-person interview probably lasted a good hour or more...would love to have that upload. We should petition Larry King

 

My question wasn't asked, but Larry ended up asking parts of it...how is her voice doing? How does she feel about it at this age? etc. etc.

 

Acapella........ <3 <3 One of the main reasons to watch any interview with her.

 

And, a side-note, Celine made me actually interested in MHWGO, no doubt because when she sings it with expression and emotion right there on the screen it sounds, rightfully, like one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.

Highlights for me were:

 

- when she said "I cant tweet that!"... now she's learning how to use that reference in a more organic way lol!

 

- Salon Select... reminds me of when Whoopi Goldberg introduced her back in the days when she was still starting in America, Whoopi said "Saline Solution!"

 

- how she discussed "singing above/on top of a cold"... for the longest time, ive wondered how she had no voice when she met Mohammad Ali backstage at the TC tour but then goes on to belt ABM! Haha...

 

- box match.. potato couch... yes i drive... people crazy

Very nice interview. Celine is more comfortable with Larry, candid and open as always. The questions from Larry sometimes are harsh, but different from Ellen he is not trying to dominate the guest, and Celine can find a proper way to answer the questions. Once again she made me proud of being a fan.

They talked of the new single and the upcoming album, but clearly it is CELINE DION that is worth talking about here.

Sorry to insist but the ponytail look has been like watching a new Céline after so many years with the same long hair since the TC days! She looks soooo beautiful! :blush:

 

I feel bad when she says she's so tired of singing several songs of her repertoire, like we all feel too! Then why she doesn't get rid of them, at least for ONE special concert, and she sings the songs she wants from her discography? Why not??? I still don't get why she has never done that, after thousands and thousands of the same setlist of concerts!

I guess she feels if she where to leave these songs out she would disappoint people ....and that's probably true , but someone should talk to her about doing a few one off shows where she sings what she wants too and on her website they could take requests of songs fans want!!

That would be amazing and it's clear that she would love it!

I was expecting to watch it on Larry King Now here in Canada, but she is not in . I wil watch it on youtube, but I just like the emotion and excitement of watching her on TV hehehe. Is she on os the US?

 

They have Larry King Now here in Canada(Toronto) on CTS(Christian-based channel). It's channel 9 in my area. I think they might be showing replays at the moment so Celine was not the guest today. Who knows, maybe they'll show her episode on a later date. I didn't know they showed Larry King Now on CTS until I saw a commercial for the show. It's just so random that they have Larry King on a Christian-based channel At least, there's hope to see Celine on Larry King Now on TV

Notwithstanding all the positive remarks on the interview, which was really nice, I wanted to add some comments just to add another perspective.

 

Now, saying nothing about her latest French album is indicative for Celine Dion the businesswoman, not exclusively talking as a private person. In other words: Although Sans Attendre obviously meant a great deal for her and led to enormous success (in all respects) just the past year, she neglects it in order to stress the importance of the next English album. To me -though I might be biased a bit - she even nearly feels awkward telling about the European 'French' concerts.

From a business point of view they have no reason for promoting her French career, thus exclusively promoting her as an American/English singer. However as a private person who loves to chat privately like (such as she seems to demonstrate so often), no matter what people would think of her, it's rather strange she consequently neglects Sans Attendre.

It became one of the world's most successful albums last year etc etc.

 

Also: I find it striking she's showing her vocal exercises again; she's singing her way through the interview. There are many similarities between these last interviews. Not only with regard to Celine's answers, but mostly from the interviewer's perspective.

King even announced Celine was to be showing off vocally ('after the break Celine's gonna give us some singing tips' or whatever..) after the break. Smells like policy. I guess her team has great influence, they make sure the 72 million dolllar house makes the interview, just like the Vegas deal, the kids - to present her as a neat family woman -, and the vocal stuff to present her as a vocal genius or something.

 

To recap: it's not as spontaneous as you might think; we are more manipulated than you might think.

 

Ps: I also enjoy her being a smart businesswoman, I believe she's a sincere mother, as well as she's more sincere than ever about herself as a singer.
