I hope she'll stay in top 10. Quote

Pangloss76 Posted November 14, 2013 at 07:52 AM Posted November 14, 2013 at 07:52 AM Its certainly much better than I was anticipating when I first saw ths US predictions. But still, its mad to think that sold nearly as many copies in Canada alone as she did France and the US combined - the two biggest disappointments so far.promo hasn't even started in France yet. She's been recording many tv shows in Paris since yesterday and she's sheduled for big popular programs. Plus, two special documentaries are airing this weekend. So far there's been no promo at all! No adds, few radio spins... That's why the figures in France are so low! But the coming weeks should really change! 1 Quote

boyblackuk Posted November 14, 2013 at 12:39 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 12:39 PM Billboard have released their chart and she is number 5 on the digital album sales so a lot has came from Physical sales by the looks of it. the Song is down though on the canadian 100 to 97 and the Billboard AC chart to 28, although Incredible making the top 50 in canada is amazing. celinefan1985 Posted November 14, 2013 at 01:06 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 01:06 PM (edited) Sony's backward thinking becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that they use to justify future decisions. I've said it hear before: they waited to shoot a video to see if LMBTL would take off. It didn't in America so boom, no video. Instead of thinking that bringing her back to life at radio would require massive promo INCLUDING a video. Why do you think it took so long to get a video for PAMP? It was only after 4 months when the song became a "grower" that they shot a video. If we were to believe some people on this forum, videos are not necessary because no one watches them. Then why shoot three videos for a French album??? Of all the dumb decisions, I and thought that Sony was finally getting their act together, not releasing a video after a 6 year comeback for probably of of Celine's most radio-ready songs was a HUGE mistake. Look how well the song is doing elsewhere. The video could have really serve to make this song the success that it should have been. Celine: "Sia, my one wish is that you write me more songs"Sia: "Um, not if I ain't gonna make money. I prefer sending them to Rihanna". Edited November 14, 2013 at 01:08 PM by celinefan1985 2 Quote

Celine had shows in Las Vegas back in July and August 2012 which explains why the video was shot in late August when the song was going down the charts. About Sia... I'm sure she is going to make money anyway. She didn't expect the song to either flop or become a success to understand that Rihanna is more current and popular than Celine. She already knew that Celine is not a singles artist and that she's out of her commercial prime. Not to mention that working with Celine Dion can only be good for her status regardless of the song's success. Edited November 14, 2013 at 01:30 PM by LukeD 3 Quote
Xpresso Posted November 14, 2013 at 02:05 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 02:05 PM Exactly, Sia will make tons of money anyway. And just look at Dana Parish... She said that since she wrote those 2 songs for Céline, that she's been approached to work with many other A listers... So people in the industry ARE aware of what Céline is doing! 4 Quote

I think Sia must be getting some good money out of it not to mention royalties for album sales, this album is pretty much succeeding worldwide! AND it will be added to the "Celine" Vegas setlist officially which means MORE money for Sia. I'm sure she'll wanna write for her again. I was afraid Rene or Celine wouldn't want to record a "modern" song again after the flop it was all over the world, but now after it became a hit in the UK, and possibly France will follow, things will change! boyblackuk Posted November 14, 2013 at 04:39 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 04:39 PM Sad We need another big promo move in the UK definitely but most of these are compilation albums that often sell better than artist albums. She is still number 4 in terms of artist albums, but most sales are coming from physical sales, or thats my belief I still think number 2 will be our number. fingers crossed. 1 Quote

People are theorizing that Sia won't want to work with Celine anymore because of LMBTL flopping but Xtina's singles and albums didn't do any better. On another note, Xtina's fans give her too much credit when it comes to Sia. In fact, they literally go around every Sia related article to remind people. O_o I'm sure working with Xtina gave Sia exposure, but seeing as how none of those Sia-penned Xtina singles were hits, any offers Sia got were due to the quality of her material speaking for itself. And since then Sia's been featured on several international smashes with Guetta and Flo Rida. Basically, it was purely correlational - Sia's far more talented and doesn't sing like she has a drill up her #ss Edited November 14, 2013 at 04:48 PM by Your_Su_Phu 2 Quote

Basically, it was purely correlational - Sia's far more talented and doesn't sing like she has a drill up her #ss well You Lost Me was the only single by Sia that was released and Bionic was already doomed back then... there was not much to do to save the album after all the Gaga conspiracy/polemics... and blank page was never released as a single or so... obviously Im not saying Sia is running after #1 hits... Britney's Perfume is flopping hard too (and it's Britney!) so Celine with LMBTL and with the lack of promo that the track itself received in the USA it's normal the results... as for Xtina I won't even discuss here about her artistry but she's defo one of the best out there in all fields (even Celine loves her!)... and yes she was a fan of Sia and thanks to her Sia got the exposure she got and is nowadays where she is... working with every single A list artist. those are the facts. next! People need to see Celine performing on tv. X-factor had the song soaring into the top 10. I agree that people like the track when they hear it but how many of them knew it was a Celine song before x-factor? Not many is my guess. 1 Quote
