guys. people secretly LOVE céline. And most of the people who buy her albums probably don't even know what YouTube is...

Whitney's comeback debuted with 305k, and while it hardly measured up to her best selling albums (and didn't manage a real major hit), it was actually her best debut sales week ever. In her case it was an issue of being away for so long and then having a great promotional tour touting the comeback of "the voice".

 

After Whitney's death, and with the success of Adele, I do feel like people are missing artists like Celine more than ever, re-evaluating her worth and legacy. Even if the single flops and she's never played on radio again, if there is a proper promotional tour close to the album date, I can see Celine's album getting close to Whitney's 315k figure in its first week.

 

For reference, her best debut sales week ever was with ANDHC (558,000), and TC debuted with 215k

 

For now I will say 200-300k (really wide range, I know)

i have a feeling eminem will outsell celine, maybe three times the number. if celine manges to sell 160k, he will kill her by selling 480K. i know it sounds pessmistic, but thats reality...

No, according to Hits, that's the previous studio release numbers to date.

I hope Sony is being conservative with their estimates. She not only surprised us with SA's figures, but practically gave us a heart attack every week with the figures (in a positive way)

I don't know what are the projections for Avril Lavigne, but she's certainly not a threat for Celine. Her album ''Goodbye Lullaby'', released in 2011, debuted (and peaked) at number four in the U.S, with first-week sales of only 87,000 copies.

Berzerk, Survival and Rap God all sold well on iTunes. The first one is the official, the others are buzz singles.
