québecflower Posted September 12, 2013 at 05:07 PM Posted September 12, 2013 at 05:07 PM guys. people secretly LOVE céline. And most of the people who buy her albums probably don't even know what YouTube is... YOU'LL BE SURPRISED (The "Rod Stewart" effect!) they see a Celine dion album in the rack, put in the basket, no questions asked.... 4 Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....
Your_Su_Phu Posted September 12, 2013 at 05:07 PM Posted September 12, 2013 at 05:07 PM (edited) Whitney's comeback debuted with 305k, and while it hardly measured up to her best selling albums (and didn't manage a real major hit), it was actually her best debut sales week ever. In her case it was an issue of being away for so long and then having a great promotional tour touting the comeback of "the voice". After Whitney's death, and with the success of Adele, I do feel like people are missing artists like Celine more than ever, re-evaluating her worth and legacy. Even if the single flops and she's never played on radio again, if there is a proper promotional tour close to the album date, I can see Celine's album getting close to Whitney's 315k figure in its first week. For reference, her best debut sales week ever was with ANDHC (558,000), and TC debuted with 215k For now I will say 200-300k (really wide range, I know) Edited September 12, 2013 at 05:10 PM by Your_Su_Phu 3 Quote

Xpresso Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:38 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:38 PM So Sony projects first week sales of 160,000 in the US (See Luis' post on other thread). Kyle projected very similar numbers in this thread... Let's wait and see! Quote
LuisMa Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:40 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:40 PM So Kyle might get Wayne's award! 1 Quote
garçon Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:44 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:44 PM 160 000 could somebody put this in perspective to other first week sales? I know it's 50 000 less than TC. Quote

JasonFromTheMoon Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:50 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 12:50 PM If it sells 160.000 copies in the States during the first week it will most likely debut at #1 if there's no other big selling artist with a new album out at the same time. manu23 Posted October 22, 2013 at 01:43 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 01:43 PM I don't get why they chose 11/5, and then do the Today Show 10/28, they could have go for that date and #1 would be granted, but Eminem will sell something like 1M the first week.. Quote
JasonFromTheMoon Posted October 22, 2013 at 01:45 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 01:45 PM Ah ok, it's obvious that Eminem will sell more. Let's hope for #2 or #3 then. Quote Welcome to the "Loved Me Back To Life" era!http://s10.postimg.org/j8wfwy3ah/Fotor0101825542.jpg

Your_Su_Phu Posted October 22, 2013 at 02:58 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 02:58 PM I hope Sony is being conservative with their estimates. She not only surprised us with SA's figures, but practically gave us a heart attack every week with the figures (in a positive way) Sony acknowledging that they have a marathon TV appearance schedule planned shows that they saw how successful the SA TV promotion plan worked Here's to hoping we'll see the same effect 3 Quote
Prima_Donna1 Posted October 22, 2013 at 03:10 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 03:10 PM Ima say this. Ok! Lets all hope that album does not flop the first week of sales. Lets hope that it ends up on the top 10. Come on! Dont get your hopes up, but at the same time, hope for the best. GoldenLeaf Posted October 22, 2013 at 05:35 PM Posted October 22, 2013 at 05:35 PM What are the projections for Avril?I don't know what are the projections for Avril Lavigne, but she's certainly not a threat for Celine. Her album ''Goodbye Lullaby'', released in 2011, debuted (and peaked) at number four in the U.S, with first-week sales of only 87,000 copies. 1 Quote
