I'm hoping for +/- 200k. I think she's in a better situation now than with Taking Chances.

The single underperformed in its first week sales [which is a ridiculous statement as it moved 360,000 copies lol - but most were expecting him to clear 400,000 and I saw industry insiders predicting he'd clear 500,000] - with this in mind, he's ALWAYS moved masses of albums.

 

Eminem's opening-week US album sales

 

The Slim Shady LP - 283,159

The Marshall Mathers LP - 1,760,049

The Eminem Show - 284,534 [it then moved 1,321,799 in week 2]

Encore - 710,880

Relapse - 608,244

Recovery - 741,413

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - ???

 

Eminem is the biggest-selling albums artist of the 00's, having moved over 75m albums since the turn of the millennium [his main debut was released in 1999 and moved over 15m copies that year - his total album sales are over 90m] - though Celine is #3, behind Eminem and Britney, currently leveled with Madonna [both Madonna and Celine have sold ~51m albums during the 00's].

 

My point? Eminem will debut at #1 with sales that Celine can simply no longer complete with - it'll be like the Alicia Keys/Taking Chances US chart all over again. I reckon Eminem will debut with around 800,000 sales in his first US chart week.

Yeah I assumed it was gonna by like TC against Alicia... Will Céline ever have a #1 again? Maybe when she's not relevant anymore and they release her albums in the summer...

I think I will stay at the 165K. I highly doubt she'll do north of 200K again, unless the single really takes off and the promo is gigantic is Late October November.

 

Present prediction I65-170K MAX

After careful researching and taking a lot of factors into consideration, here's my prediction for first week sales of LMBTL: 120,000 in Top 10 (I'm almost inclined to say #6 but to just say Top 10 is better lol).
