CelinesDIVO5 Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:39 AM Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:39 AM My issue with everything as of late has simply been Celine's management. (This doesn't mean JUST Rene.) When Celine and Rene went on hiatus back in 2000 to both try for a child and for Rene to recover, nobody knew if Celine would ever come back to the music industry. With all due respect, some probably didn't even know if Rene would survive. (Thankfully, he has.) So, back then, I could understand Sony dropping everything. Why use time, money and resources on a product (yes, Celine is a product, in a way) that may never come back? However, the very second Celine decided to come back into the industry with Rene continuing as her manager, fail safes should have been put into place in case something horrible happened again. Sadly, it did, last year. There should have been enough back up managers set into place to take over for Rene and ensure the product (Celine) was being pushed, projects were being handled in a timely manner and the fans were being kept up-to-date. That does not mean the fans deserve to know everything that is happening behind closed doors. It simply means that the least we deserve to get is communication. A brief message on her site stating, "Due to unforeseen personal events, the release of the music video for Celine's smash duet with Ne-Yo, "Incredible," has been postponed. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you updated as news unfolds," or something to that effect. We, her fans, are, after all, the ones who have helped her and her family get to where they are today. We deserve to be treated better than we have (for years). That is my two cents. SONY didn't drop everything when Rene had cancer in 1999...in fact Rene didn't even want that. He insisted Celine to continue with a European tour, even if he couldn't be there. The one that decided it was time for a break was Celine. She finished her tour at the request of her husband, released "All The Way...A Decade of Song" continued with whatever promo and concerts she had left, and then she went on hiatus. Sony didn't pull the plug on anything Celine had to do. Celine and Rene just agreed that at the end of 1999, it was time for a break. SONY paid for a lot of promo for "All The Way"....print, talk shows, tv special, an entire dvd of music videos (one recorded for each new song). Celine went out with a bang of PR from Sony. It didn't just all of a sudden stop. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
CelinesDIVO5 Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:53 AM Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:53 AM yea i do understanding some of what ur saying, but i hope that she will give us a couple of new albums before shes done, cuz not all of us fans will get the chance to see her in vegas, i know i wont get to cuz i dont have a spare $5,000/$6,000 laying around, its too expensive for me, i have bills to pay & other mouths to feed, (& since im all the way from the east coast), vegas isnt in my budget range... now yes im glad that she is performing in vegas cuz it makes her happy & many fans who live closer & can afford to go can be able to see her in concert... but for those of us who will most likely never see her in concert, (unless she does another world tour, which im pretty sure thats never gonna happen cuz she has even said so herself recently in a few interviews that she isnt planning to tour again, thats why her contract in vegas was extended to the year 2019 & i highly doubt that she will still be performing @ all after her contract ends, especially if, heaven forbids, rene isnt around by that time, cuz then she will definetely throw in the towel), @ least her still releasing a new album once every few years is @ least some small constellation for not being able to make it to vegas to see any of her shows... on while we are all on the same subject on her getting "new" or "younger" management lol, hahahahahahahaha theres nooooo way celine would ever get new or younger management lol, in fact when rene does eventually pass away, which i really hope is many, many, many years from now, i really think that will be the end of celines career permenantly, cuz she doesnt trust no one else to be her manager, she has said so herself for the past 20 years in many interviews that she ONLY TRUSTS RENE & NO ONE ELSE!!!! in fact celine has said the same thing about sony!!!! thats why she hasnt been w/ another record label since 1990!!!! she has said that she ONLY TRUSTS RENE & SONY TO HANDLE HER CAREER NUMEROUS TIMES, so thats why she hasnt left them & i dont think that she ever will... but i do think that she should have a few other people as backup to manage her career that she can still trust, like somebody from her family or somebody from her already-established entourage... & i also think that she should be able to trust another record label besides stupid, lazy sony, there are other fish in the sea besides awful sony lol... cuz it would suck if sony dropped her cuz of the crappy sales of lmbtl & she didnt go w/ another label... now i can understand not always trusting everybody all the time, but there are way better record companies out there for celine than stupid sony, who clearly havent known what they are doing w/ celine for a long while now lol... & plus i read on this forum a few months that celine doesnt have a set contract w/ sony???? or @ least a contract thst says she has to record an # amount of albums w/in a # amount of years, & thats why sony let her go 6 years in between albums... well thats what i have heard anyway... i really agree w/ u tho, i also wish that she would go to another record company, become the dumper before u become the dumpee lol... she deserves sooooooo much better than sony, i dont know why she trusts them so much... now w/ rene i can totally 100% understand why, he is her husband & the only manager that she has ever had, so i can see why theres so much trust in him & all... but w/ sony i dont think that they are so great... now granted they might have been great many years ago back in the day, but not anymore... to me there are waaaaay too many other record companies that celine could trust to work w/ besides dumb, ridicolous sony... Without Sony, and Tommy Mottola, The backing of Celine's career would not have been as strong in my opinion. When Celine was on top you had David Foster who has so many connections to Sony, Tommy Mottola, probably the best President they ever had, Polly Anthony who was President of the Epic Records division of SONY...you just had a powerhouse team at Sony and they all backed Celine 100%. Back then she was their biggest money maker. You keep bringing up that Sony doesn't do enough for Celine. They have done plenty. They got her to the top and she was there for a long time. Now, it's time for the newer and younger talent. Celine was at one time that newer, younger, up and coming talent that put the more seasoned acts on the back burner. It happens to every popular artist. She was their most popular artist and sold the most records from their record label at the time. Now her time on the top is done. She had that experience already...just like so many artists before her, and like so many other artists have and will still have after her. I don't know why you can't just sit back and be a fan that enjoys what she's still giving us, rather than worry about getting her on the top again. She's still widely adored by millions and millions of people. She hasn't been forgotten. She's just at a point in her 34 year career where she's taken the step back to do what she wants to do. 3 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
CelinesDIVO5 Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:56 AM Posted April 5, 2014 at 04:56 AM actually im not the only one complaing about the lack of the stupid video & the lack of work done by stupid, lazy sony... if u havent noticed, THE PAST 10 PAGES OF THIS THREAD is chock full of complaints by more than a dozen other members!!!! i mean do u read other peoples posts on here who disagree w/ u or do u just read mine cuz i also disagree w/ u???? a hell of alot of people have been complaining for the past 2 months!!!! hello, mcfly???? hell i wasnt even on here FOR OVER A WEEK & look how many others have been discussing about this video & have also been saying that lmbtl might be her last album, theres been a rumor going around about that for months, just look thru some other threads as well as this one right here on this forum to see that im not the only one in the same discussion... & since u seem to spend much more time on this forum than i do & u have been a member here much longer than i have been, im very surprised & shocked that u dont pay attention to some of the other discussions going on in this thread as well as the other threads in this forum... & what does her album from 1992 have to do w/ whats going on right now???? i remember back in 1992 her music was played on top 40, where as now it is not... now me, u, & the rest of us in the forum do consider incredible to be an r&b song, but apparently the rest of the world does not share the same opinion as we do, cuz if top 40 radio & the billboard charts considered incredible to be an r&b song, then the song would be in the r&b charts wouldnt it???? & before u bring up celines age of 46, let me remind u that both jennifer lopez & mariah carey have had recent songs on the r&b charts & JLO IS 45 YEARS OLD (born in 1969) & MC IS 44 YEARS OLD (born in 1970), so just like our girl celine, neither one of them are spring chickens now either lol, & mariahs duet w/ miquel, #beautiful, was on the r&b charts last year & incredible sounds kinda similar, both songs are slow r&b ballads & both just happen to be duets w/ a younger male singer lol... so to the american music industry its not an r&b song, & i really dont think that incredible will be on neyo new album... if it was it would be all over neyos twitter & fb... im wondering if the whole special event was just another lie made up by sony just like the olympics, they should have never had celine & neyo say it was gonna be on the olympics if it really wasnt gonna be... sony are the ones who have failed here & u keep putting them on a pedestal, many other people agree w/ me that sony sucks & thats my opinion on them... I never said her album from 1992 had anything to do with her career in 2014. I simply explained that it was marketed as an R&B album when you said that Celine had nothing to do with R&B music. That is all. And it doesn't matter what genre people consider "Incredible" to be...it's a fact that it's an R&B song. It was written in R&B format by an R&B singer. Fact rules over opinion..and the fact is that "Incredible" is an R&B song, despite what "anyone else considers it." I didn't say that nobody else complained about the lack of video. I just said you were the worst offender. NONE OF HER PREVIOUS ALBUMS have done as poorly as lmbtl has, just admit it now... im sorry but if it looks like a duck, & walks like a duck, & quacks like a duck, than im gonna call it a duck lol... if something, like the lmbtl album for instance, looks like a flop, walks like a flop, & talks like a flop, than it pretty much is a flop, sorry... :( :( & again if u even bother to read the other posts on this thread, SEVERAL OTHER MEMBERS have also said that sony sucks nowadays & that their actions & planning has been horrible for this album, it DOES NOT TAKE 3 MONTHS TO FILM & EDIT A MUSIC VIDEO, were not talking about a 3 hour movie here folks!!!! lets face it, the video is not gonna be shown, it was all lies & excuses from sony, just like the olympics, just the so-called special event that not one person knows a thing about after 3 months of no info @ all etc... I just accept Celine's career for what it is now. I enjoy whatever she puts out, when she puts it out. I live in the world of reality where her time on the top has past. I live in the world where Celine is no longer in the high demand of the 90's and early 2000's. I live in the world where Celine is now a legend and just doing her own thing. It doesn't take 3 months to edit a music video, no...but like I've said already several times, as Celine fans, most of us are used to having to wait for things, and having projects postponed. It's just the nature of the beast now. I keep bringing up THE PAST because you keep bringing up the fact that Celine is not on top 40 where you want her to be, or that Sony isn't doing what they did for her in THE PAST. But the reason for all of this is because this is the present. It's 2014, not 1998 where Celine was at her peak. I also have not seen one piece of news that labelled LMBTL as a flop. It's sales figures are not due to lack of promotion. It's due to the fact that the industry has changed. The way people buy and listen to music has changed. People don't buy albums anymore. iTunes has made it very easy to just pick and choose what song from which album you want to buy. You no longer need to buy full albums. One of the reasons Beyonce's album sold like it did in December was because when they released it, every track was only available if you bought the full album. It stayed that way for about a month. Now you can purchase each track individually. This is the PRESENT world we live in. Celine's previous albums (this is a response to you "bringing up the past") sold well because up until 1999 when Napster was introduced, there was barely anything in existence that pertained to downloading music on the internet. You had to go to the store and physically buy a CD in order to have the music. Now we have illegal downloading torrents, and like I said, iTunes which gives you the option of whether or not to buy a full album, or to pick which tracks you want. If you don't click to buy the full album, it doesn't get counted towards any sales. So, for Celine..an artist who is not at the top of her career anymore to sell comparably to those who aren't even her contemporaries is a HUGE accomplishment. ESPECIALLY with no radio support. Your head for sales and promotion is very much in the past. 2 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

Every singer slows down. That's what makes later in career releases even more special. We have 34 years of material to bask in. Just accept Celine for who she is now. She's never going back to the rigorous touring and promotion that she did at the top of her career. She doesn't need to. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

Lu CelineFan Posted April 5, 2014 at 10:52 AM Posted April 5, 2014 at 10:52 AM I don't think Celine wants new management. Some people have said that she needs younger management, I don't think she wants that either. I honestly feel that when she has fulfilled all of her contracts (Vegas and Sony) that she will sail off into the sunset with her family and be happy! It is something that we will need to come to grips with, at least I will. Just my thoughts Well, I see that´s just your thoughts but we really don´t know.....life changes and do also points of view. We can´t tell how she´s going to feel in the future. Maybe she come up with new plans and projects, she´s young yet. We can´t foresee what will happen in her life. I don´t think she´ll be a recluse mommy (IMO ) 3 Quote Team Céline Dion Brazil@lu_celinefan

It's sad to see so much effort and hours of taping wasted. Come on! You can make a difference and stop Celine's career from falling into the abyss Quote

zuv Posted April 5, 2014 at 03:00 PM Posted April 5, 2014 at 03:00 PM Actually, as soon as we have official news abt anything surrounding the album, like the release of incredible music video, it will be posted on NEWS ONLY album topic for sure. Quote

I think Rene's health is a factor and I suspect the Video may not be released at all. Need to forget about this becoming a hit. It's a hot mess is what it is. Quote

Timster Posted April 5, 2014 at 03:36 PM Posted April 5, 2014 at 03:36 PM hey maybe in 10 years or so we will get to see the video on youtube someday, just like w/ her numerous other previously unreleased music videos lol, like the videos for "if walls could talk", (which is one of my all time favorite songs of hers btw), & "did you give enough love", (not one of my all time fave songs of hers, but still a good song w/ a sexy video that would have been mtv worthy lol)... What are you talking about? The video for 'If Walls Could Talk' was released in 2001, on the All The Way DVD. The video for 'Did You Give Enough Love' was released in 1993. 2 Quote

The video for 'Did You Give Enough Love' was released in 1993. well i have never seen either of those videos on tv back in the day, not even on vh1... & i know that cuz i watched a whoooooooole lot of vh1 & mtv music videos back in the 90s, back in the days where vh1 & mtv were playing music videos instead of dumb, ridicolous reality shows lol... i only discover the videos of "if walls could talk", "did you give enough love", & several other videos that i dont feel like listing on here right now, on youtube just a few years ago, they apparently werent as popular as some of her other more known videos from the 90s & 2000s...
