I'm afraid I have to agree with you. Taking Chances is a successful album but we waited for 6 years for the next album. Due to LMBTL's poor sales, I guess Sony will cut their budget for Celine if ever she releases a new album. The question is: "how many years are we going to wait?"

Could be nice that Sony asks the fans which song to release as next single. Britney spears did that for Femme Fatale, fans picked "Criminal" (my second choice, i had picked Drop Dead Beautiful).

I think the problem is that Celine is known because of Titanic etcetera. And this new record is a bit Celine-2014. That is not the Celine people know. And audiences today are young and like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna and so on, and Celine is not that familiar to them. We grew up with Celine her music, at least most of us 30-something fans. So we know her success in the 90s. Most younger people don't know who she is, yes maybe , the Titanic singer and there are also a lot of people who can't stand mhwgo, so she will be associated with that song forever ( i like the song though). Anyway, Celine is not cool, radiostations don't play her songs, also because most younger people don't know her and maybe find her too old? I don't know. I have to say though, the promotion for this album was not good at all. The album itself is great and has some great potential for hitrecords. But where are the videos for loved me back to life, somebody loves somebody, incredible? Most people look on youtube to find a song and watch the video of the song. How can any of these songs become popular without a proper video? that is the problem.

I don't think it's because nobody knows her. Look at gaga or britney. They're arguably the most popular and controversial performers of this era but such popularity didn't translate to the sales of their latest album. LMBTL's performance in the US Charts is a function of a lot factors.

I think Sony just excepted it and has moved on (1.5mill. is not bad!) and Celine has different priorities now and is happy in Vegas so promo is done from both sides. i think so too im afraid... :( :( i dont think there will be any more albums after "lmbtl" cuz celine has never had a flop as bad as lmbtl was, her albums "taking chances", "miracle", & "one heart" did waaaay better w/in the first few months after they were released than "lmbtl" the album did after 5 whole months of release!!!! :( :(

 

 

for those of u who keep repeating that "lmbtl" is not a flop & that selling only 1 measly million worldwide after 5 months is super great, its a real disappointment & failure for a singer on the level of celines... we are not talking about a fairly new singer or someone who is releasing their 1st or 2nd or 3rd albums, such as miley, beiber, selena gomez, one direction, etc... who all have only a few years & albums under their belts & lets face it they all dont have nearly the same talent & class as celine does... we are talking about somebody who was labeled a few years ago as ONE OF THE BEST SELLING FEMALE SINGERS OF ALL TIME, & it has nothing as much to do w/ the music industry as some of u might think, while yea its not the same as 10 years ago, but there are still very successful older singers & bands in their 40s & 50s & older who still make new albums often & are still very popular & their record labels dont ignore them & not make music videos or not release the ones that are made, like what sony does to celine lol... again sony is a major part of "lmbtl" not doing as well as it possibly could, cuz it still did fairly good in a few other countries such as the uk & english speaking canada, sony should have made the music videos for "lmbtl" the song, "breakaway", & "water & a flame", release the video for "incredible" instead of making up lies & excuses for not releasing it... & i agree that "SOMEBODY LOVES SOMEBODY" SHOULD BE RELEASED, i think it would make a GREAT SINGLE, since its upbeat & fun & the american public, as well as most of the world, loves to listen to upbeat & fun songs, those are the type of songs that dominates the radios these days!!!!

exactly!!!! its just sad that sony didnt try to film any other music videos for this album & then decided to shelf the one video that they did film lol... & i dont think think that it was celines decision for no music videos cuz she does care about the album or she would have never recorded it in the first place if she didnt care, or she wouldnt have agreed to travel all the way to los angeles to film the video for incredible if she didnt want to make any videos for, like u just said, HER COMEBACK ALBUM AFTER 6 YEARS!!!! i think sony had made the decision since like someone else on here already said, they gave celines album such a tiny budget to begin w/ & didnt back the album as much as they should have...

 

 

but its kind of their own fault for the album not doing well, cuz its not celines or renes... celine worked very hard for the album & her voice is still great as ever, even if the style of the songs are different than most of her previous songs, but the american public have complained that celine should update her sound a little & record somthing different than her usual traditional, powerhouse ballads, & to me that is exactly what celine did on this album w/out changing her music to the extreme & trying to be the next miley or gaga, thank god lol... cuz celine is waaaay more talented & isnt an attention-seeking, autotuned-singing, sleaze-ball like gaga, miley, & some of these other modern day singers, bands, & rappers who are more famous for doing really bad behavior & being mostly-naked on stage, or other weird & obnoxious behavior such as wearing dresses made out of meat & throwing up on one of her fans during a concert **cough cough lady gaga cough cough** or twerking on stage w/ a rubber doll replica of one of our former presidents while rubbing a foam finger across her private parts **cough cough miley cyrus cough cough** lol... oh my, the entertainment world is becoming such a mess if those are our kids role models these days... so thats why now more than ever we need decent singers out there like celine who is a waaaay better role model for todays youth than these crazy & untalented skanks like gaga & miley who are popular w/ our youth, lord help us all, the world has gone really mad!!!!

well im just agreein w/ the MANY PEOPLE here on this forum who are saying the same exact things as i have been saying, just cuz u dont agree w/ my opinion about the whole subject matter of the no-show music video of incredible & sony in their part of the not-so-great longetivity of the lmbtl album which is now officially dead btw, & the opinion now shared w/ several other forum members who have finally seen the truth about the lmbtl album, that doesnt mean that myself or anyone else doesnt have the right to be on here just as much as u do, people have different opinions from each others, get over it, & there are several other forum members who are now sharing my opinions as well...
