I guess I’m going to celebrate by watching… Au Cœur du Stade? That’s the only concert DVD available with more than 2 songs from this album 🤷‍♂️

I have Apple AirPods Pro and I can notice a bit of difference, but when I borrow a pair of AirPods Max they're like all new songs.

Ah, I see. I don't have Apple headphones at all, maybe this is part of the issue lol.

What was everyone’s first experience listening to this album?

Did you go buy it in 1997?

I remembered I was too excited before buying it, I don’t know if you guys remember, but they had certain albums available to listen. I stood there with the headphones and listened to the whole thing before checking out. I remember absolutely hating MHWGO interestingly enough, skipped TLYM of course since we already heard that as fans, and at the time for years, hated IHYTILY. Initial listen of Why Oh Why, I thought she was trying to sound like Toni Braxton. JALBOL, I wish they remixed and sent it to the clubs, but that never happened. Anyone else also remembered how Celine’s albums were the higher priced ones and Mariah was always cheaper? Lol just saying!

Oh and my favorite song was and still is Where Is The Love from LTAL. Super visual…could picture Herb Ritts directing it. So many songs never sung live, but she’ll oversing like The Show Must Go On, a cover… sigh

Yes! I remember how expensive her albums were then, too. I remember picking this up at Walmart. I was just 11 years old.

"People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."

- Céline Dion, 1990

I remember it well! We'd had previews of most tracks - before they came up with the paid fan club model, registered fans got to listen to various tracks and provide feedback before release, most likely to help decide on best singles, etc. The CD single for Tell Him had come out two weeks ahead of the album (standard lead single release timing in those days), and that included Where Is the Love as a b-side. That CD single got played on repeat for those two weeks. :)

I was babysitting my niece on LTAL's release day, so I threw her in her backpack seat and wandered over to the nearby shopping centre to pick up the album at HMV. Listened to it all day when I got back! I wonder if my niece has some subconscious connection to the album after all these years... :D

It's far from my favorite album of Céline's - I find it too calculated, lacking in authenticity, and too focused on trying to elevate Céline to the same pantheon as its guest artists (which despite the album's success ultimately locked her into being a "mature" artist rather than a contemporary one), but it certainly has great moments/performances and it was during her vocal prime. Us remains a classic, although I'll never forgive them for the artificial positivity of transitioning to major key for the coda - it kind of ruins the track. I'd love it if someone made a fan edit that kept the minor key for an extended outro. I absolutely despised Just A Little Bit Of Love then and my feelings have not changed in the years since. Generic, tuneless, soulless dance track with an unconvincing vocal. :)

Despite the above comments, I don't really mean to knock the album! It's an enjoyable listen overall; just not an album I return to very often, and I'd place very few of the tracks in Céline's top tier. She's released far better albums.

I 100% agreed with this. And to be honest, I don't believe this album would've been successful if it wasn't for My Heart Will Go On. It would've been a let down era after Falling Into You.

During Christmas in December 1997, they played MHWGO on VH-1. I loved the song and video. I heard the rumor about TITANIC, that the movie will be a big flop, because of the big budget etc.., but I liked the song. So I went to the local record store (yes kids, there were shops where people could buy CD's , VHS's, DVD's etc..LOL) and I bought the MHWGO single and the TITANIC Soundtrack. Early 1998, when the TITANIC- and Celine hype was at the peak, I bought the LTAL album, after I listened to it in the store... The rest is history...

My hightlights : MHWGO, US, TR, MTG, LIOTW, WITL, WINY, Immortality., LTAL , TLYM

low points: TH, IHYTILY, Why Oh Why

I feel the same, I'm not a fan of the album too. Only The Reason, Us, the Corey Hart-songs and LTAL are the ones I still listen to. None of these feature any of the guest performers: just some good songwriting and a stunning voice.

The very first album of hers that I've bought when I became a fan...

I played it over and over and never was bored...

I remember holding it in my hand with the seal still closed, and I had to walk all day for others places with my brother... I couldn't wait to get home and play it...

When The Reason began to play, I knew I would always love Celine for the rest of my life...

I was in 2nd year university at the time and I remember going to a friend's room to listen to a preview clip of each song prior to release day. Then on release day I would have gone to the local HMV store down the street to get s copy.

I know this has been said before but I’ll say it again. It’s quite disappointing that a 25th anniversary edition with bonus tracks isn’t being released.

Jennifer Lopez just released a 20th anniversary edition of This Is Me… Then.

Even Sean Paul released a 20th anniversary edition of Dutty Rock. SEAN PAUL! DUTTY ROCK!

Where is the MHWGO HD video? Come on Sony/TC!

Fingers crossed they'll finally upload it, it's a looong overdue and such a big and essential thing that is missing on her channel so badly. I'm sure if uploaded, it would break views records... Edited by ordinary fan

Actually that clip served as the official video for the THLAL single back in 1999. However, they got the date wrong in the video description. They wrote February 1998 and the video was filmed in December of 1998 lol

They released THLAL as a single in 1999? I thought it happened earlier than that. Wasn’t ATW promoted in 1999 and before that TAST?
