Wonder if there's others dolby atmos songs where there's new additions ? Can someone tell ? I always thought dolby atmos was a remastering of the existing song, so weird to have new vocals on this one. Maybe they use another mix of the track to create this dolby atmos ? It reminds me of the demo of Think Twice that ended up on My Love Essential Collection

"US" beginning is slightly different : there's almost only the guitar ( and maybe slower?) compared to the standard album

There is an extra "Anymore" at 3:59 in All By Myself if you havent heard.

 

Yes you're right thank you, but this extra "anymore" was already there on the best of with David Foster in 2012 (at 9:13)

As I use this version on my Ipod since it came out, didn't noticed it on the dobly atmos

My guess is the line was already on the master vocal track but had been muted in the original final version. I'm in love with it, and it gives me "A Change Is Gonna Come" vibes. I was really hoping by some holy miracle we'd get to hear the additional line in the bridge in the original published soundtrack lyrics of MHWGO, but alas there is no God. I'd have to go digging through the basement for the CD, but I think it was something along the lines of "there is some love that won't go away." I believe she didn't sing the line in the one (or two ) demo take(s). Later editions of the liner notes were revised.

 

IMHO Think Twice had an unreleased alternative vocal mix without the big note and "no no no no," but they kept it in the vault, as the album version is a more dramatic and memorable single. I bet to them it was a good excuse to release it. Reminds me of the orchestra version of Nature Boy that the producer leaked later. How many other original finished versions and mixes of songs may we never hear?!

 

I think for these Dolby revisions a producer does need to comb through all the original channels of the track and make some tonal adjustments and add info for the spacial function, but I don't think they have access in most cases to the full set of original vocal takes. They would have whatever is on the final copy of the master track.

And I don't like it! I have fallen in and out of love with this song over the years, and right now I am out of love. Something about it is not right! Maybe i just need to get used to it.

Has anyone here listened to the 360 Reality Audio releases of the album?

It's the Dolby Atmos equivalent, but is exclusive to Tidal...

 

The advantage is that any smartphone can play it, just need the headphones on... While the Dolby Atmos need some specific equipament to play...

With Tidal you can try one month the premium for free and listen to those versions...

All the 8 albums released in Dolby Atmos were released in 360 Reality Audio too...

I find the Tidal option more accessible for those who can't aford by new smartphones/headphones...

 

I didn't listened to all the albums yet in Dolby Atmos 'cause I don't have the equipament... But comparing the ones shared on the internet, both Atmos and 360 have the same productions, new vocals, new versions, etc...

 

I think the 360 Reality Audio releases are superior to the Dolby Atmos, 'cause the details are more evident, it seems that the songs are more beautiful yet...

Oh and I forgot to mention... the 360 Reality Audio have 7.1.4 channels, while the Dolby Atmos have just 5.1.... So much more space for the audio to fill the space... that's realy cool

Thanks I had no idea this existed. I use Spotify exclusively so I miss out on a lot.

 

I listened to The Power of Love in that video and it sounds like a whole new remastering as well. They could have easily used that version as a Dolby Atmos version on Apple Music. Wonder why they didnt release The Colour of My Love as it is one of her best selling. Even just updating TPOL would have been fine.

You have to go to Settings, and enable Dolby Atmos... also you must have a compatible smartphone and headphone to play it.

Then you just go to the album, and you'll see the Atmos icon, and just have to play it...

For the same reason you can only get The Crown on Netflix and Game of Thrones on HBO. Or Spotify Singles on Spotify. DSPs are creating exclusive content to try & encourage switching from competitors and platform stickiness. Without it, Spotify/ Apple Music /Amazon Music are all interchangeable.
