québecflower Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:18 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:18 PM The song is not bad, and I love the lyrics so much (that's the best part of this song I think), but somehow I don't feel like playing it over and over again. It just sounds as if I have already listened it in the past, this Celine. And I agree the music sounds outdated. It could have come from the ANDHC or OH sessions perfectly. Also, like some people said when the song was recorded, it souns like TTWII, but it hasn't the strength and the power of that track at all. In other words: Celine needs a new & updated sound for her music. So bad. I guess working always with the same team of people has its advantages, but also its inconvenients, and this is one. She needs to try more different instruments, play with the protools, make some electronic music, whatever. But not to sound as if you were listening a song from 10 years back. Maybe its the poor quality of the bootleg, I'll wait for an HQ decent version, maybe that changes it all it would have been perfect as the fourth song on A new day album, Rain tax........who needs that 1 Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

Neddo Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:30 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:30 PM Melody and lyrics are exceptional in this song. However, its too short. Also I don't like that kind of sudden fade out. It sounds outdated but definatly not cheap. This songs just needs a decent remix like Thunderpuss ones for I want you to need me. Remember, Diane wrote both IWYTNM and US. Also, crazy electronic instruments aren't needed here. And you really need to accept that Celine was always trying something diffrent ever since '02. This song is too emotional for One Heart. Shaun Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:34 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:34 PM First of all thank you to whoever recorded it and shared it with us. I'll fully judge the song when (if?) we get a HQ version but I have to say that on first listen i'm not completely blown away. It's nice, it's pleasant and Celine sounds great. But that's really about it. The song doesn't say "smash hit single" to me, and it doesn't say "new sound for Celine Dion" to me. Not that those are problems as such, but not really what I was expecting after a 6 year wait. Sounds like it should follow "Faith" on the One Heart album. A pleasant, but not brilliant or particularly memorable song. I will however fully judge when I hear the HQ version. I cannot believe CelineDion.com basically told us to go the movies to hear the song though, reminds me of when "Children On Their Birthdays" was released. When that happened they basically posted "Hey guys!! Celine has a new song called "I Have To Dream" but if you wanna hear it you'll have to go to the movies." After all these years we still don't have an original version of that song, I wonder if "Unfinished Songs" will get the same treatment.... 2 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

Frozen_Phoenix Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:46 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:46 PM (edited) I really don't know, I wanna like it, I wanna like it very much but I simply end up saying it's ok. Like others said voicevice and soundvice it sounds very much like a 90ies Pop song from the "One Heart" Album. It's nice but there is nothing special about it. There's no real peak in it and the bridge could have also been better. However, the worst part of the song definitely is Celine's very annoying "Heeeey, heeey". It sounds horribly dated and wannabe cool. I don't know, two fantastic people of the music industry get together, Celine and Diane, and still the result is a very mediocre song. Sad, I simply hoped for something much better and far more unique. Neddo Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:59 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 10:59 PM Celine may haven't made a new genre of music. But she was lyrically always way more versatile than so called unique divas who make illuminati and hybrid music. Simple reason why Celine doesn't need dubstep, because people will critic and call it a mess. Sorry, this song is better than at least 4 songs from SA. From preview, it sound similiar to Naked, so this song isn't pop it's actually Anastasia/Clarkson kinda pop/rock. So, super inovative Jessie J who screams like a little girl in her dubstepish/electro/folky/souly dancy ballads singing just another love song or that Gangam Style, annoying song that won't last longer till the release of WAAF; are better than Celine, who made a song about composing your own life, only because her song is more normal. OH WAIT... 1 Quote http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7804/5tq2.png

Say What? Posted February 22, 2013 at 11:07 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 11:07 PM Just okay for me. It's dated which doesn't help Celine's not-current status in the music biz... but I guess they don't really care anymooooooooooore It's old fashioned early 2000s pop production (sort of reminds me of the ANDHC radio remix). Can't comment on her voice because of the quality of the sound file. Quote

garçon Posted February 22, 2013 at 11:53 PM Posted February 22, 2013 at 11:53 PM The song is not bad, though she's over-adlipping after the bridge. It certainly bears enough quality to become a hit single. More importantly the movie has to become a hit in theaters, whereas a decent promo campaign needs to be set up by the record company and Celine's team to persuade radio stations to play the song. Regarding the omission of the track on the soundtrack; has nobody come up with the explaination that the record is reserved for the album in order to push sales? Remember the Titanic ost case? Quote

blueangel92 Posted February 23, 2013 at 02:41 AM Posted February 23, 2013 at 02:41 AM why are so many f****** negative comments here, first of all Celine needs to be herself, there is no need for her (and for true fans) to change the music style to adjust to teenagers' taste nowadays. Secondly, awards? that stufff matter? Im sorry to say that all kinds of awards now are suck. I can't bear it anymore when watching Grammy this year but Adele. Celine has owned herself the unique reputation and the certain enormous amount of real fans. Celine is one of very few artist who can hold the expensiveness in her name (like a respective brand). Last, as long as you love it then support the song as well as the album, that's enough. "Who cares if others disagree, they are not you and not king of anything". I think some of you care much about the way others view. Maybe, you like the song then introduce it to your friends but he/she say "What generation do you belong to when listening to the song?". Then somehow you put the hate on the song, even Celine. If this matter happen to me, I will undoubtedly say "I belong to the expensive generation of expensive music when you have to think a lot and fell big time to really get the message of the real stuff". That's it. just my few opinions 4 Quote http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt182/tuongkhanh92/cdvn-1.png Celine Dion Vietnam Facebook Celine Dion Vietnam Blogspot

chrisannabanana Posted February 23, 2013 at 02:45 AM Posted February 23, 2013 at 02:45 AM I quite fancy it I loved Taking Chances but I feel that Unfinished Song is a little more deeper and vocally it's even more impressive than Taking Chances. browseceline Posted February 23, 2013 at 03:23 AM Posted February 23, 2013 at 03:23 AM (edited) I like the song but I do understand why some of you say the song sounds dated; When I heard this song it reminded me of some song I heard before, although I don't know which one. It is a easy melody and most popsongs sound a lot alike, that is something you cannot avoid since all possible melodies have already been used, so sometimes even a new song like this can sound quite similar to something you have heard before. That is because popmusic is not that complex as classical music is. That said, I like the song very much, it is uplifting and it fits perfect with this particular movie. What I did not like, and probably people who don't like Celine's voice, is the adlipping with aaaaa aaaaa. She does it in life concerts too and it works, but it was not particularly needed in my opinion. Sometimes enough is enough and less is more. It is the same I don't like in Let's talk about love where she screams too much in the end with the adlips in it. Was not needed in my opinion as well. I love the song though.I also agree that , although it is a nice song, it is not a masterpiece and not mindblowing. When I think about Aerosmith's - I don't wanna miss a thing, also a Diane Warren song, that song really catches you and it brings the emotion and it is a real timeless hitrecord. I don't see unfinished songs become timeless. Because it is just catchy and uplifting. And let's face it, after so many years of waiting we welcome a new English song very much in this Vegas-era where not much original Celine Dion songs are sung. Will it be a #1 hit--I doubt it but Celine sings the hell out of it and does the song justice. 2 Quote
Xpresso Posted February 23, 2013 at 04:58 AM Posted February 23, 2013 at 04:58 AM Not a bad song. Not amazing, but a nice song. And GREAT to hear something you from Céline! Since the movie will be released at different times in different countries (in the summer in North America), what the hell is Sony's plan with this song? Will they release it now in the UK and later in Europe and North America, etc. Or they won't release it to radio and/or iTunes at all?Talk about screwing up marketing plans when the song is leaking about 3-4 months before the movie comes out in other countries!!But I'm glad we could get it!! Thanks!! Quote
