"Unfinished Songs" - Theme song from the movie "Song for Marion"

That is such a nice song. I LOVE IT!!!! She sings it so effortlessly. Very cute. Hope it goes onto the new album. It's in the One Heart era, but that's ok, that's my favorite album at the moment.

I was not comparing Unfinished Song to TTWII... I was talking about the link from CelineDIVO which is a song from Jessica Folker called Be Able to Love or something like that. THAT song sounds like TTWII... not Unfinished Song...

 

And even if Celine would sing the exact same song as Adele, it would not get played as much on the radio just because it's Céline and because she's 44 years old unfortunately. It might still happen but the chances are very slim that radios embrace a new Céline single even if it's the best Céline song in years.... It's sad but... That's the way it is!!

I was out tonight and that chorus was in my mind... and I was even singing it at some point!!! Who would have thought!!!

The song is really nice! I think that we shouldn't critisize it until we get HQ. It's not a biiiiiiiig song but really good, fresh, young, finally sth a la ANDHC as far as "joy" is concerned. I missed a positive vibe in Celine's songs. It doesn't have to accompany a huge movie, it can be a hit itself. Nobody thinks that I'm alive was a hit because of the Stuart!

Can't wait for the HQ, I'm sure it'll be awesome

Absolutely agree. This song is so easy, campy, and juvenile. It's middle-of-the-road, dated pop. I'm disheartened to see so many fans hoping it will be on the upcoming English album. It would be a giant step backwards for Celine's English career. A big, big mistake.

 

Like I said before, Celine's voice is very strong on this track. Especially considering she recorded it after singing a Vegas concert. But the song is inadequate to her talent -- and certainly to the direction her career should be headed.

 

It is an easy, predictable song that any Disney Channel star could have sung.

I think it is a matter of taste because I absolutely love the song just the way it is. There could be some more editing and improvement of the last vocals after the bridge but all in all I really enjoy listening to that song and I would be happy If the song became a single for the upcoming album.

And as long as the new album will contain a good balance of "uplifting" and "serious" songs, I'm happy

Now, she does a song that's merely a fun, uptempo song (a la "Love Can Move Mountains," "That's The Way It Is," "I'm Alive," etc.) and people complain it's something a Disney channel star would sing. Some people are never happy.

 

Just to put it out there, let's take a look at some of the lyrics of the uptempo songs that people have been begging for Céline to include in the Vegas show:

I am all for Celine pursuing uplifting songs but that doesn't mean the material has to be elementary. Look to Adele's Right as Rain or I'll Be Waiting For You. Those are fantastic examples of uplifting songs that are modern, surprising, and meaningful.

It's an insult to her fan base to put out such easy, predictable, brings nothing new whatsoever to the table "music". Why not utilize the incomparable talent level of CELINE DION? Mariah had to change directions because her voice started to go. But Celine's voice is still solid! So utilize it to its full potential! That can be done just as well with uptempo/midtempo songs as with ballads.

If she came out with another One Heart album this year, I would be ecstatic.

 

That album is so contemporary [for Celine's standards] and has aged very well - much better than A New Day Has Come [which is my #1 pop album of all-time, by any artist].

One Heart can do circles around 21. One Heart unlike 21 is more versatile; dance, r&b, ballad, country; lyrically stronger, especially LIAWN. Adele haves 'Avril syndrome', soul-pop with cheesy sad love stories. All her songs sound same .Don't get me started on CD '92, TC or SA. Honestly, PAMP sounded cheap too, but when album came out it it instantly sounded newer. Low quality lowers production, face it. Music is so trailerish today, Celine isn't. Celine is mixture of classic and modern. Celine changed directions in '92 and again in '02.

Sorry, US '13 Disney s*** song? That song is lyrically and melodic far beyond Adele's bore and depression, far beyond any oversounded s*** we have today! U.S. is only song that can calm me down released this year!

i love Adele, very much... But to say these two songs are uplifting , not so sure. Uptempo yes. Good yes, But not memorable, not more than Unfinished song. Adele is good, great but not all her songs are.

 

One of the reason i love Celine is that you don't sink in despair every time you hear one of her song. She has made her mark with love , happy , uplifting , fun songs. Some times yes, she goes all in with sad , nostalgic, But she add so much drama there, that in the end, you are happy to not live this so... Adele is good in that aspect as well, but she needs to balance this with a little bit more happy and cheesy songs. But i'm looking forward to hear skyfall tonight. It will be exciting.

The fact is we know nothing about the future album and this song might or may not be on the new album but take it for what it is. Celine's fans have very different taste, some people's favorite song is something like " naked" and others like other songs in boat of "a song for you" two completely different type of songs. So don't judge this song until we get a HQ version but its probably safe to say the "naked"/ "one heart" celine fans will like the new song and the more conservative Celine fans ala "a song for you" and "right next to the right one" probably won't.

This is all very true. Personally, I enjoy "One Heart" for what it is - a throwaway album with some fun songs but nothing that is going to necessarily be looked at as a huge success for Céline's career. I think the best moment on this album is definitely the english version of "Je t'aime encore."

I thought "Forget Me Not" was from the ATW sessions as well... I remember the original OH tracklist only had 12 tracks. Then, the fans complained and "I Know What Love Is" and "Forget Me Not" were added and I thought they were both from ATW...

Just because an album is made up of songs from other albums' recording sessions does not mean that it was not a good album or good songs. In fact, I feel that the Celine clearly enjoyed how these "reject" songs turned out enough to release them. Yes to some of you that may not be ideal or you may disagree but clearly Sony and her team, and her though these songs had enough merit and potential to be on an album. OH was a extension of ANDHC I believe and you cannot compare its success or failures to FIY or any other album simply because you need to recognize what was going on in the music industry at the time and the promotion it received, which was close to none
