come on, there's many many styles of voice in her bag, angry voice, gentle voice, positive voice, attitude voice, jazz voice, gospel voice....she just uses them according to the songs. for example, she has to use her gentle voice to sing miracle, instead of angry voice, thats for think twice. and for DKL i think she uses fragile voice perfectly, of course crystal voice might fit, too, but fragile voice is closer to the message the song is sending. her voice is like an amazing instrument, it fits every kind of music well, and i think thats why there are people who hate her so much, because they think she lacks personality and is simply mimicing without going anywhere deeper. in fact, i kinda think so, too. but so what? everyone's got weakness, and hers happens to be having the most versatile/flexible voice on the planet!!! she's like a machine when it comes to singing, when she records a song, she choose form the genre column to decide whether shes going to do it the jazz way or r&b way or country way, then she choose the type of emotions and techniques to use in this song. finally, she put her heart in it!! :giggle:

 

I totally agree with what your saying but what i was saying was that theres a certain level of emotion that celine would deliver regardless of the voice she was using, it worked with all of her songs - its not about the way she uses her voice its the fact that for me there isn't any emotion in her vocals no more they just feel, seem, sound flat. i do not mean she has to belt out notes - far from it! even within miracle you can still feel a certain connection with her vocals and the song that resound the emotion within the song - these songs just feel quite flat to me - i do like them to an extent but flat is flat.

for me, its still the same. maybe its like the couple thing, you know, when you and your girl/boyfriend come to a point when you all find each other boring. i kinda have that feeling for celine years ago. i stopped following her news or listening to her music, because i thoght they sound boring to me. i turned to other singers, but look where im now! wait.......does that mean i cheat on celine? :wtf: Edited by sourdumpling

I hate Water And A Flame for many reasons: didn't like the original song, don't like her croaky voice, and on top of it the whole Daniel Shittyweather episode. Edited by zenmeban

I like Incredible, not as much as I love Somebody Loves Somebody, but it's growing on me. And I agree that this song screams Olympics, UNFORTUNATELY.... I'm so confused by this, I'll be ashamed if Celine sings for the Olympics in Russia :cry:

After listening to the leaked 3 tracks, I feel guilty to say that I like Water And A Flame more than Incredible.

Anyway, Didn't Know Love is my favourite out of three

"Incredible" has nothing special about it! They repeat the chorus way to often! I do not want this as a single. "Somebody Loves Sombody" or "Breakaway" should be the second/third singles.

it does have something special, the melody and harmony are gorgeous, but you are right, it repeats too much. maybe there will be a big change of melody or arrangenent for the rest of the song, i think it shold be at least 3"30 in length. however, i dont think that's possible, what we'll hear is two more repetitions of the chorus. such a big pity...i actually had high expection for this song. :cry:

I think what we have heard so far sounds amazing and really excited about this new material - fresh, more modern but still Celine at heart. Perez was right about the album being very uptempo.

 

Don't hear the lack of passion people are referring to at all - just different delivery/sound. I think the rest of world will finally get to hear how versatile and fun Celine is (we have known this all along) - always frustrate me that 99% of the public think Celine is about 60 and only sings over-the-top chest-thumping ballads about 'lurve' . . she is so much more versatile.

I woke up today with the thought of "Water and a Flame" and "Didn't Know Love" and it felt amazing! The songs are getting under my skin! I'm starting to like the "granny" notes, because that's an update, it refreshes the sound of the songs and is well combined with the classical epic notes. To me this album already deserves a Grammy award. I really, really can't wait to hear the rest of the songs! Edited by JasonFromTheMoon

You all sinners... :P I'm not listening a thing. What you will be looking for the 5th of november (or when its released in your local store)? I'm glad I will have almost the entire CD untouched and unknown to my ears, waiting to be fully discovered.

Also it fits perfectly with the Olympics

But why would a couple say ''Let's make them remember...'' I mean, come on! People fall in love everyday, it's not that unique! :P I hope it is for the Olympics!

I actually am liking Celine's version of Water and a Flame (I love the ad lib note near the end) I didn't like that Merriweathers version, even Adele couldn't save it. Didnt Know Love is such a sweet song! And Incredible is a nice, easy listening song, I like it but don't understand the hype, nice notes and melody but just not wow for me and it's really short! The piano introduction of ''Incredible'' reminds me of the introduction of Whitney Houston's ''One Moment In Time''. All in all, it sounds like a Mariah song, like ''Almost Home''.
