I like Water and a Flame a lot more as the complete song than from just hearing the clips. It's really nice and she does hit some nice notes towards the end.

 

I love Incredible! It sounds so modern and current. I love the opening notes and the beat in general. I think their voices really sound great together. It's repetitive, but still really good.

 

Didn't Know Love is still iffy to me. Her voice is pretty croaky, and it sounds a little contrived to me, kind of like That's Just the Woman in Me did. It's better as a whole (as opposed to a small preview), but her "talk singing" style kind of puts me off. If she sang with a fuller voice I think it would sound much better. It sounds like she needs to drink a glass of water. Despite my comments, I do actually like the song, but it's also a bit anticlimactic.

Im glad I can resist and don't listen to any leaked Songs - I want to discover the Album as a new gift without knowing what it 's gonna be like :))

Totally agree. You beat me to it! Some new people are just here to get the songs for free. And some are resurfacing just for the goodies... It's not right to distribute Céline's songs that way guys. And all those PM me please, PM me please... PLEASE ENOUGH ALREADY!! :D

I completely agree. The same thing goes for Water and a Flame though, she sounds a bit contrived there too. I prefer her "pretty" voice and not her "bedroom" voice as she calls it. incredible is pretty good, and I love the harmony of the song. My fav is still Somebody Loves Somebody though.

The piano introduction of ''Incredible'' reminds me of the introduction of Whitney Houston's ''One Moment In Time''. All in all, it sounds like a Mariah song, like ''Almost Home''.

 

Celine is certainly not meant to do R&B songs. She better leave that territory to Mariah. That type of songs requires a lot of refinements and ultra details from a singing point of view which Celine would never have the patience and the tiny skills to do and you can hear that in "Incredible" (at least those who like Mariah as well, like me, can notice that I think). Same goes to as if Mariah was singing "Water and a Flame" - it would be a fail, because she doesn't have the power for power ballads - that is Celine's kingdom only.

I happen to disagree with you. I think the Celine does R&B just fine. She has been doing that for years. Maybe she is not as good as Mariah in that area but to me she holds her own. Believe me I have listened to many R&B songs in the past and she is just as good as them.

I've always liked the song since the Katie show. But, I've hated Mr Daniel Merriweather since his stupid speech. So, I was the one who strongly disagreed WATF as the album title.

Water and a flame is amazing but her voice is too granny at some point, she corrected that in French now she is doing it in English :(

 

Incredible is powerful , simple and it works .. bravo to ne-yo

 

didn't know love is absolutely gorgeous, the melody , the voice, the feeling, the atmosphere , Wow

 

I really think this album is the best we could have got from Celine in today's industry ( from what we've heard so far)

 

Imagine guys, we still havent't heard breakaway and always be your girl for which I have huge expectations.

 

I want this album to sell millions of copies worldwide and win awards .. enough with the tribute and achievement awards, this album will put her back where she belongs

Even though I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by it, WAAF, mostly because of the production.

Celine sings it nicely, but the raspy thing sounds a bit forced and fake to me.

Also the amazing timings from the original: "It's nearly been an hour since I thought of you" are completely different I a way that it's sounds weird.

It's one of the reason why I don't like it when Celine collaborates with so many different producers on 1 album. Some of them are new and think they have to make songs 'Celine Proof', which never helps the song. Nothing of those things she couldn't do. So way change it? Nothing of Daniel and Adele's interpretation, was to hard for Celine. She easily could have done it like that.

Also there has been some changes in the arrangement. I looked forward to hear those in elements in her version too, but he made a smoother one for her. More simple. Like it would have been 'too much' for her.

 

Such a pity

 

I didn't have much faith in the song after the preview, but it seems to be ok.

But all the things I was afraid for are in there, unfortunately :(

Imagine they were not... the song could have been so much better, instead of just nice.

Missed chance to me.

 

But: Didn't Know Love is awesome!

First of all.. THANK YOU CelineDIVO5 for your work sending the songs... really appreciatte it. A Thousand of thanks....

I can't even imagine how many times I'm going to listen Didn't Know Love in the next days.... The first seconds.. the piano...the violins... the voice... the melody.... GOD what a perfect song!!!!

 

For water and a Flame... I knew so much the original version and I thin this is a great cover.. even I miss a little bit the two voices....

 

And Incredible.. yeah... I like more the snippet.. but it's a good pop song... maybe a little bit plain...

 

I don't mind the leaks because they have already my money assured... hahahaha

(but I'm not one of those that is going to by all the editions...sorry... )
