"One Heart" album - Official Topic

One Heart was a rush job with left over tracks from ANDHC and a few new songs. It's almost like a bonus album.

 

With that said, I do really like a handful of songs from this album.

 

Honestly, we haven't had a super strong English album release from Celine since ANDHC. TC, Miracle, OH, LMBTK all have some great tracks but they all feel lacking compared to ANDHC and all the albums before that.

 

Thankfully her French albums have been strong these past several years.

yes she did more, she even writes about it in For Keeps. Saying that all the songs are leftovers from ANDHC is not true. There is even a picture of her in the recording studio with short blond hair from the one heart sessions. I once found it and posted it here somewhere. It was taken from the website of the recording studio (I think it was a studio in Florida with a stream right in front of it).

 

But one song e.g., Miracle, or back then Who could ever love you more, a leftover from ANDHC was used for the 2004 Miracle album.

 

I've never seen that picture! Do you have it?

 

Is that Celine's handwriting, the lyrics that are written phonetically? I love this, great find.

Wish we knew. It was auctioned on eBay for more than $1,000... If I had known back then how much I would be obsessed with this album, I would have tried a bid for this...

I like it more so because we can see the process she used to pronounce the Spanish words as well as she does. It never occurred to me that she'd write it out like that.

Well, I suppose she's had practice in doing much the same thing with English songs, back in her teens.

 

And I don't speak Mandarin, but apparently when she sang Jasmine Flower, people were impressed with her pronunciation. Presumably she went through the same process then.

 

I guess we shouldn't be surprised. She is a top-notch musician so it figures she'd have a great ear for these nuances.

 

Anyone on here who can comment on the quality of her German?

According to the Billboard article, the album was recorded in LV and Florida and was completed in Jan. 2003. She did't have blonde hair in Jan. 2003, so the songs must have been finished end 02/Jan 03.

She has the same hair during the recording of IDAN than during the October rehearsals for A New Day in Belgium, so my guess is that she recorded IDAN during that time.

anyone know who that man is? I would guess this is a recording for a French song, or a non-album track - but that's just my guess. Céline's blonde hair debuted the week of AND and OH's release - so it's doubtful that it's from this album.

With the IDAN sessions, one can barley hear her raw vocals, they had to ruin it as always and add dubbing.

Why can't they understand we would apperciate hearing only her raw vocals.

I love that song so much. My high-school friends use to sing it all the time - the full Ella version, that is, not the truncated Celine one - at recitals, in the halls, on the bus...good memories. (It was all about that "horizontally speaking, he's at his very best" line. 😊😜😂 Lots of mature high-school giggling...LOL)

 

(I went to an arts high school...kinda like Fame 😁 Jazz was huge)

I'm so glad she was so extremely productive in those 2002-2003 years, recording songs not only for albums but also for many movie soundtracks as well as participating on albums of her fellows. Those days were gold.

I agree, however I thought the Eddy Marney tribute show took place during the summer of 2003? That tribute show was pretty much the only highlight vocally during the Vegas Era in 2003, BTW, is there a way where we can find when Celine’s version of Bewitched was registered on BMI ? I mean if it was registered in 2001 or 2002 then it would mean that it was clearly recorded for ANDHC or OH.

I'm trying to figure out whether the bonus tracks included in the 2004 CD "Live In Las Vegas", You And I and Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way also come from past recording sessions or were recorded brand new for this release (which I highly doubt that, specially AGLTOW).

 

And also if the French version of You And I, "Mes ailes à moi" was recorded in full or just that snippet for the TV commercials.

 

You And I has chances to have been recorded specifically in 2004 for the Air Canada campaign, but Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way has a lot of chances to come from the 2002 recording sessions.

 

Again, we never had official footage of Celine recording these two songs in the studio, despite filming a whole documentary included on the CD/DVD release that supposedly covered a whole year since the start of the show in 2003 until 2004, but never showing footage of the recording of these songs, which would have been just natural?

 

To investigate the French version of You And I, I would need to know who adapted the lyrics into French, but since this track was never officially released, I don't know who the songwriter was here. Any clues?

I don't know! AGLTOW credits say it was recorded at Masterplan studios, Stockholm, same as songs in the ANDHC album. That's what's odd if she recorded it in 2004, that she flew to Europe to record just one song Still, the credits here are quite confusing, because most of times they specify where the vocals have been recorded, but here they don't give a particular mention to this, so it could be either the mixing, or the vocals, or both things...

You're right 😱 I just took a look at the booklet! My theory is that if she flew to Europe in early 2004, it was certainly to record more than one song 😉 but obviously, Sony's vault is really full of surprises for us, that's for sure... 😇😋

I don't want more drama-Celine on the next album. We have plenty of drama songs in her discography, and we had enough dramatic singles the last 3 years. It's time for a change. I want another bubblegum pop CD, a light and fun album to listen to, like ANDHC and OH were!!! :wub:

You've just read my mind with that. Hearing this song is a continuation in the sense it has those positive lovely vibes

that AND and IA have so I always come back to hear these 3 songs because of that reason. If she will have some new songs with these positive vibes and lovely video! I will be happy No more dark songs, at least not for singles.

Yeah, I 100% agree... but you know the Sia sound isn’t exactly “bubblegum” :-/

 

And as far as I know, the Swedes aren’t involved in the Courage album..? Right?
