comingback Posted May 4, 2019 at 10:56 AM Posted May 4, 2019 at 10:56 AM (edited) And too late for this genre. Right on time in 99 with TTWII but in 2003, even Britney moved from this 00-01 sound. At that time a more Norah Jones / mature sound might have fared better. I wouldn't call it Britney bubblegum Pop. Maybe Kylie Pop, she had a big comeback in the early o0 (Fever, Body Language). And if you are a fan of the jazzy sound of Norah Jones, you can listen to ANDHC. ryba Posted May 4, 2019 at 11:37 AM Posted May 4, 2019 at 11:37 AM (edited) One Heart is a masterpiece! If there is one thing that I would change, then I would include the Spanish version of HYEBIL, since the English version already appeared on ANDHC and having it twice doesn’t make much sense. I’m so convinced that this song sounds amazing in Spanish and delivers a very special mood. Edited May 4, 2019 at 11:43 AM by ryba 5 Quote
TommKat22 Posted May 4, 2019 at 02:36 PM Posted May 4, 2019 at 02:36 PM With the recent uploads of audio videos of songs from “One Heart,” I am seeing something very surprising. If we exclude “I Know What Love Is” since it’s geo-blocked in the U.S., and exclude “Je t’aime encore” (not uploaded), there are two very strong standouts already: “Forget Me Not,” and “Coulda Woulda Shoulda.” Both are already over 30k views. The other non-singles don’t even come close. I’m surprised to see “Reveal,” “Naked,” and “Faith” so low by comparison! — — — — — What makes it more surprising is that Forget Me Not is the least streamed track from the album on Spotify! I’ve always loved the song though. 😅 Quote Tommy

GoldenLeaf Posted May 4, 2019 at 11:46 PM Posted May 4, 2019 at 11:46 PM (edited) For example, take this alternate shoot of her in the album cover (without the car behind please ), and make it full colour. How beautiful would have been this picture for an album cover, her smiling, casual dressing in jeans? But Sony or her always go for a sad b&w cover and entire photoshoot instead Btw, these pictures were taken sometime around August/September 2002. Please note that in the footage of GTSW videoclip we can already see her in these pictures and a Chrysler car used and included in the video, since the Chrysler photoshoot was being done at that time and/or at the same time. All the OH project was heavily blended with the ANDHC album This picture exists in original color but too bad it's only in low resolution, I'm pretty sure I've seen a better quality version in the past though. However I really like the original album cover which is gorgeous I just wish it would have been in colour. Edited May 4, 2019 at 11:49 PM by GoldenLeaf 2 Quote
comingback Posted May 5, 2019 at 10:05 AM Posted May 5, 2019 at 10:05 AM (edited) Fans were also disppointed it was 3 tracks shorter than the previous album, ANDHC. Fans never forgive to receive a shorter album than the previous work released I also loved this album from the start. The only thing I strongly disliked is the cover and the photoshoot that was entirely done at the mercy of Chrysler, posing next, by and on cars How different the cover would be if it was full colour, (and all the pictures inside) with her being beautifully blonde at that time and with jeans? And that random logo with "celine" in black and "dion" in red, where did that come from?? Dah, their obsession with B&W photoshoots everywhere This picture exists in original color but too bad it's only in low resolution, I'm pretty sure I've seen a better quality version in the past though. However I really like the original album cover which is gorgeous I just wish it would have been in colour. The OH album cover in colour. IMO the black and white cover fits the album more. And the original album cover, which was shown on amazon early 2003. Edited May 5, 2019 at 10:07 AM by comingback 3 Quote

Javito Posted September 5, 2019 at 08:18 PM Posted September 5, 2019 at 08:18 PM (edited) I just love the little sighs she does with her voice in Reveal, starting at 3:19 Similar to those in Cherche encore. And then the "let me reveal myself" in the background, towards the end of the song I'd love to see the recording studio footage of these moments... It really does have some forgotten gems on it...Love Is All We Need, Faith, Stand By Your Side, In His Touch, Forget Me Not, I Know What Love Is, Je T'Aime Encore. And don't forget it was her last highest topping debut in the US after ANDHC. In my opinion, even though a lot fans felt it was totally a Chrysler promo and upcycled songs that didn't make the cut for ANDHC, it was smart for them to release it since it ultimately helped her sell more albums and Vegas tickets. CelineFan1996 Posted September 14, 2019 at 05:36 PM Posted September 14, 2019 at 05:36 PM (edited) I think this album is Celine's weakest effort yet I bought this album after seeing the "One Year....One Heart" mini-DVD on the Live From Las Vegas CD, because it looked so great. I heard great tracks like I Drove All Night, One Heart, and Have You Ever Been In Love(which is already on ANDHS, so I don't count it). I listened to the album, and was very dissapointed. It seemed very heartless(no pun intended). The only songs I liked were I Drove All Night, Love Is All We Need, One Heart, Stand By Your Side, Reveal, and I Know What Love Is. I liked about half of the tracks, as listed. The others were pretty bad(especially Faith, probably her worst song). It wasn't Celine at all. I didn't feel anything, really. It was a pretty boring album. It has nothing on Let's Talk About Love, A New Day Has Come, and Falling into You(not sure about the French albums, i'm only starting to listen to more of her French music). I wish they had just put those 6 tracks on there and released that. It'd be a short album, but it'd be a good one Overall, I was very pleased that the A New Day show and Taking Chances made up for what One Heart couldn't do. Comments? Yeah the album is definitely not one of her classics, it feels like a bunch of radio friendly tracks thrown onto an album. Although it does have one of my favorite English tracks... Stand By Your Side and In His Touch. I work in a record store and my colleagues actually prefer this cd over LTAL and ANDHC!! smw Posted September 14, 2019 at 05:55 PM Posted September 14, 2019 at 05:55 PM One Heart was a rush job with left over tracks from ANDHC and a few new songs. It’s almost like a bonus album. With that said, I do really like a handful of songs from this album. Honestly, we haven’t had a super strong English album release from Celine since ANDHC. TC, Miracle, OH, LMBTK all have some great tracks but they all feel lacking compared to ANDHC and all the albums before that. Thankfully her French albums have been strong these past several years. 2 Quote

BTW, wasn’t Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered for the Mona Lisa Smile soundtrack recorded around the same time as I Drove All Night in Fall 2002? I’m pretty sure Celine recorded in studio way more than just 2 songs in the studio back then. 1 Quote

Saying that all the songs are leftovers from ANDHC is not true. There is even a picture of her in the recording studio with short blond hair from the one heart sessions. I once found it and posted it here somewhere. It was taken from the website of the recording studio (I think it was a studio in Florida with a stream right in front of it). But one song e.g., Miracle, or back then Who could ever love you more, a leftover from ANDHC was used for the 2004 Miracle album. Edited September 14, 2019 at 08:32 PM by ryba 1 Quote

Even though she started Vegas, Rene made sure to keep her on the market and close to her fans around the world by releasing albums almost every year (in 2003 even 2!), and lots of tv appearances and bonuses for the fans.
