I don't think releasing "Have You Ever Been In Love" was a mistake.

Wasn't it a pretty big success on adult contemporary radio?

That was the last time I remember Celine's new single getting played on the radio quite a bit.

I do wish Celine had different hair during that time -- for the music video.

Since then, it seems like the only new English songs that casual Celine fans know are Ashes, Taking Chances, and How Does A Moment Last Forever.

A lot of people also became aware of her cover of The Show Must Go On.

Any others?

I thought it was something like that!

I like the song a lot. It's classic Celine.

One Heart is one of my favourite albums . I was only 15 when it came out. Such good memories

My thoughts exactly! I couldn´t believe how terrible she looked. My first time I saw her in that new look was during the Today Show performance in that yellow outfit. I was also horryfied by the live version of IDAN she sang there since I was used to the album version (same with I´m Alive after I heard the live version on AND Live in LV. I couldn´t believe that it´s Celine singing Lol).

I remember there was a poor quality image that circulated on the internet right after she did it and fans were arguing (like usual) whether or not she had cut off all of her hair.

Wasn’t there a Walmart photo of Celine with the buzz cut that circulated in Vegas while she was off for the extended time taking care of Rene?

I have a feeling Celine’s most favorite hairstyle is that short look….. Some reason it always comes back. Unless, it’s always short and Celine wears wigs more than we know.

It’s a very special album for me too… I know it received a lot of flack from the fandom claiming to be “leftovers” from the ANDHC album, but If that was the case it doesn’t matter because the fact is those leftovers are better than many other albums IMO. The only part of laziness for me was to include HYEBIL again with zero changes, at least SFL had a different edit which I love both. Also the album to “me” doesn’t sound dated at all, with the exception of “Love Is All We Need”… tho I like it.

The timing of the release with the opening of the Vegas show didn’t help either…. I wish they had waited and included a few of those songs on the TC album… because I always thought the OH album was far superior to the TC album and yet the TC album got the world tour treatment because of the timing.

The OH album was specifically put together to promote her partnership with Chrysler AND the fact that she was going to Vegas. They couldn’t change HYEBIL as it was a song used as it was for part of the Chrysler campaign. It was all planned to coincide with both of these things. Even in the liner notes, Celine dubs it as a gift for the fans as she would be in Vegas for (what was at the time) 2 years.

Crap yeah I was mixing it up with BYLM. ANDHC is her longest AC #1 if I’m not mistaken

Loved her Divas Live performance in that dress and short hair. She looked awesome there.

It's not my all time favorite song from her, but definitely one I would love to witness live on stage.

HYEBI was the last song of Celine I remember to be played here on the radio non stop. Those were times...

HYEBIL was a good song for a album but should’ve never been a single… imagine if they released “Faith” or “ Reveal” instead… I think “Faith” could’ve had the success that “I’m Alive” had, she probably would have sung it in her live shows as well too.

She did look wonderful there. The best her short hair ever looked.

I remember that I was very shocked when I saw that new look in 2003 after her beautiful look during the ANDHC era. And I am still very shocked that she went with it.

This is one of the very few instances where I liked her with short blonde hair.

I have very mixed feelings about this album.

I do not like how they recycled HYEBIL and SFL from ANDHC. This gave across the vibe of a somewhat rushed release. Same goes for the album cover which I would have preferred to be colourful instead. The album is so light-hearted and B&W kind of kills this mood for me. Another problem relates to the lyrics - I find them extremely bland and generic for the most part.

What I enjoy about the album is her vocals. To me, OH marks the last time we got crystal clear vocals in an English album. Also the melodies are very beautiful.

Favourite songs (in no particular order):

- Naked

- I Drove All Night

- Reveal

- Je T'aime Encore

- Stand By Your Side

I also think You And I, Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way and In Some Small Way would fit this album perfectly!

Yes. She was flawless in the “Goodbye’s (the saddest word)” music video and I saw some behind the scenes of I Drove All Night music video, in color, where she looked also gorgeous.

Then the short blonde hair appeared and the world was in shock. Lol

I believe the terrible reaction was because how good Celine looked before that.

The blond hair was horrible. It was too short and bright. What was she thinking?

Yup, basically this.

I don’t think this was all her choice. After ANDHC era, that was very successful but kinda of a downplay when comparing with her previous releases, I think Sony marketing team wanted to put away that “mom” image that was built, and push an image of a young edgy Celine, to appeal to a pop audience that was, at the time, consuming Britney, Christina, Pink, those kinda of an artist.

They did that with her image, and with her music as well! And I have to agreed with what the critics said at the time about it: it looks all too desperate!

To me, One Heart is to Celine’s discography what Glitter is to Mariah’s. I just pretend it does not exist (although I do like a couple of songs on it).

One Heart is far superior to Glitter, in my opinion. I like that Celine herself considered it a gift to the fans - basically a bonus album.

The unfortunate reality is that she has yet to recapture her essence in an English release since A New Day Has Come.

And Celine explains why she cut her hair in this video. It was for technical reasons for the Vegas show and she and Franco wanted to kick off the show with a new look.

I honestly like OH better than ANDHC. I feel like the songs aged better. I very rarely even go back to listen to the ANDHC album anymore. “I Surrender” is a constant playlist favorite of mine. Sometimes I’ll listen to SFL air TGR. But other than that, it’s definitely not in my top favorite albums.

Yep, ANDHC is OK, but OH is a great Pop album. Sony should have released Reveal und Faith as singles and not One Heart and Have You Ever Been In Love. Even some critics said that she should have released One Heart in 2002 instead of ANDHC.

I really like OH too - and I totally respect others liking it more than ANDHC - but singles like Reveal and Faith never would’ve charted at that time (in my opinion), even though they’re great songs.

It’s just not what the public wanted from Celine. ANDHC checks many more of the boxes for causal Celine Dion fans.

And so many of the songs on ANDHC have become widely known - even if they were never singles. I’m Alive is one of her most streamed songs on YouTube - and it was the Stuart Little 2 song. I Surrender has become a classic. A New Day Has Come was a successful single. The ballad version was a gorgeous opener for the Vegas show, as was Nature Boy. The album has proven to be a huge success in all kinds of ways - beyond sales and chart positions.

Have you ever been in love and sorry for love could be on the album only as bonus songs

I’ve lost my original copy, and was hard to find a new copy

The album has aged well.

We can’t forget that at this point the record industry was changing, illegal copies/ downloads

Anyway

According to the IFPI, One Heart became the tenth best-selling album around the world in 2003.

I think that they should have generally released more singles from ANDHC as well as OH.

SFL was screaming to be released as a single!

Same with Reveal.

They released IDAN wich was very edgy for Celine, so I think that Reveal and SFL would be very successful as well.

She was unfortunately contractually obligated with Chrysler to release HYEBIL as a single. I wish some of her upbeat songs would be featured on TV shows like Gaga’s “Bloody Mary.” After its viral success on “Wednesday” the record company sent the song to radio as a single. And it’s from an album that was released 12 years ago!
