LukeD Posted January 12, 2014 at 05:28 AM Posted January 12, 2014 at 05:28 AM I don't know. I wish AXS had not listed them as sold out. I wanted to go, and like you, I was looking for tickets. Nothing was available. It would not even let me check for special tickets (meaning AXS Premium or anything like that). I hate that AXS listed it as sold out if seats were available. I hope she does add new songs to the show. But, in terms of it not selling well, her lowest month for 2013 was 92% sales, and that was in July 2013. Tickets sold: 15,456 (out of 16,706). See: http://en.wikipedia....residency_show) In contrast, Cher sold 80 to 86%, and even dropping as low as 74% when she was there (http://en.wikipedia....t_the_Colosseum) Granted, Elton John's lowest seems to be 96%. (http://en.wikipedia....on_Dollar_Piano) Bette Midler had a few months in the 50-60% sold range (54%, 57%, 58%, and 59%) (http://en.wikipedia....girl_Must_Go_On) That all being said, everyone is still selling a ton of tickets. Overall, Celine's show seems to be the longest running show that is also the most consistently sold. That all being said, I hope she does add new songs and re-does the show a little bit. Not because I do not like it--sort of just the opposite. I liked it so much I have seen it more than once So, adding new songs would be great!Yes, of course! I never thought her show was not doing well. But you know when she goes from 100% to 98% and then 94% they might want to do something to put her back to 100% sold-out where she really belongs. Thanx for the information! 3 Quote
spunkransum Posted January 12, 2014 at 06:39 AM Posted January 12, 2014 at 06:39 AM Does anyone know why she changed back to the corded microphone? I really wanna think it's due to her singing live but again I'm a realist and know this is not possible with the Vegas show and all of the promotion. Honestly I'm kinda glad she went back, she performs better (in my opinion) when she has the cord to hold in her other hand instead of doing so many chest bumps and finger taps. lol Also did she introduce the new back up singer? I know I saw him in the LMBTL video for NYE's and I think I saw him in a Bercy video. And I agree, it's time to change, do Open Arms in the new recorded version and lullaby could be replaced with always be your girl. At least Shania changes her show up a bit and breaks the redundancy up. Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted January 12, 2014 at 06:04 PM Posted January 12, 2014 at 06:04 PM I looked online for tickets for March and it said that NYE and the 2 shows afterwards were sold out on the AXS website. I wonder what they consider sold out? I thought that meant all the seats sold. Does anyone know? I have worked in several different box offices throughout my life. A couple were at major theaters here in NYC. When a show is labeled as "sold out", it means there are no tickets to sell, not that every seat has been sold. Seats are held up until the last minute for each star in a show, the producers, the director, marketing gets 10-20 seats, etc. All of these are held in case they need to give them away for free to people as a reward for good work or because they have friends or family in town who want to see the show. In the case of Celine's show, they probably also hold really good seats in case anyone at the last minute wants to spend $1200 per ticket. Often, these tickets don't get used which means there are empty seats at a performance, even though the show has been "sold out" for months. Hope that info helps. 5 Quote
ehild Posted January 13, 2014 at 09:25 PM Posted January 13, 2014 at 09:25 PM Not sure when the new songs will be added, but based on different threads on this board and an interview Rene gave at one point, there will be at least three new songs added: LMBTL (as LukeD said, she is already singing that)Water and a Flame and, I beileve the third song that has been confirmed will be either Didn't Know Love or Save your Soul--I can't remember now. But, in an interview with the songwriter for Thankful and Always Be Your Girl, she said that she has been told both of those songs will also be added to the show (I believe this interview was posted on the Celine Discussion board under the Official Album discussion thread). My best guess is that the biggest changes will take place in June. This is because she has a couple of months off before the start of the June shows to work on show changes. It's a bit hard to make major changes in the midst of a show run. This is what I'm hoping for! I'd really like to see more than just three songs added. I could definitely see ABYG replacing Lullabye (assuming they're going route and replacing songs....however two songs like that would be a bit much). I'd also love to see a new French song added. I love NMQP but there's a few others I could see in the show as well. I'd love it they picked a more up-tempo French song, just to change it up a bit. 2 Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. JCeline85 Posted January 14, 2014 at 11:06 PM Author Posted January 14, 2014 at 11:06 PM I would like to see the entire bond medley replaced with an uptempo celine mix of I'm alive tcwt version.. LMBTL, and SLS.. Lullabye probably won't be replaced since it's on the album.. But adding ABYG would be nice.. Also I would like to see unfinished songs get added into the end somehow.. And perhaps end with ABYG after MHWGO. But too bad we will probably have the same show for another year or two... Hopefully not though. It really drives fans and regulars away almost bc after awhile the same speeches and songs get boring.. 1 Quote The Wait Is Over?

At least Shania changes her show up a bit and breaks the redundancy up. First, to clear something up: a change of microphone has NOTHING to do with singing live or not. Regarding the change of mics.... Céline has always loved her Shure (SM58) microphone. The main reason why she opted to go with a Shure mic (which she used up until around 1997/1998) instead of her (cordless) Sennheiser microphone, is simply because Céline loves the sound of it. Secondly, Céline prefers a corded mic over a cordless one. Although some songs prevent her from using a corded mic in Vegas (like HDYKTMP/Overoved and MHWGO), so she still used a cordless one in those songs.... but it's the cordless version of the Shure microphone. About the "new" backing vocal... he's not new, it's Jean-Seb, who usually plays the violin & guitar. He does some extra backing vocals during LMBTL, LCMM & RDMH. 1 Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY

NicoNV Posted January 20, 2014 at 10:04 PM Posted January 20, 2014 at 10:04 PM (edited) I went for the third time this past weekend, and it was fantastic! The changes I noticed were small, but there was some changes. First, as we all know, she is singing Loved Me Back to Life. Second, she is singing the majority of the songs 100% live now. Before everyone chimes in about how good she is at lip synching, blah blah, I am telling you I have seen her in concert three times, and this time the majority of her songs were live. In fact, I would say 90% of the show was live, if not 95%. The only lipped parts were a part of Where Does My Heart Beat Now and part of The Reason. She sounds amazing live. Unbelieveably so. Third, she is singing MHWGO slightly differently--she is doing exactly as she did in NY, she is performing the opening instrumentation (she had not done this on my two prior visits. This is also why I said 90 or 95% live, because I could not tell if the open was lipped or not. I don't think it was though). The show was so much fun! In terms of my lip synch comments, personally, I could care less when she lip synchs--I am just super grateful I had the chance to see her in concert! Was anyone there this past weekend? I ask because I was there on the 18th, and she played with her monitors a few times, and she kept wiping her eyes. I thought it was maybe allergies or just make-up in her eyes, but she did it for pretty much the entire show off and on. I didn't know if anything was wrong, and was just wondering if anyone had heard anything. It was probably just allergies or make-up (the only reason I even thought it would be something else is because she played with her monitors, and I remember someone on this website saying she does that when she is not comfortable (maybe it was Koolan that said that?? I can't remember), plus in the past she was always on stage spot on at 7:30 or one minute after and on the 18th she was like maybe 10 or 15 minutes late starting. Whatever the reason (or non-reason), it did not impact the show at all. She was fantastic that night! Like I said, almost 100% live (with the few very minor exceptions I mentioned, and personally did not care about), she appeared to have fun, she talked to someone in the audience for a minute and had a back and forth for a minute with them. It was awesome! I always think, I have seen the show, I do not need to see it again. Then, half way through, I think "When can I come back?" haha. The production quality is amazing, and her band is stellar. I mention this last point because I went to another show in Vegas over the weekend---it was like night and day in terms of quality of the theater, quality of the production and the staff involved. Everything about the Celine show is highest quality. It's fantastic--if you can make it to Vegas, you have to see it! I hope to go back this summer, after the new songs are added. Honestly, I hope to go back before that (But, with work and everything, I will probably have to wait until July anyway). Some people care about Boutique stuff. So, new things I noticed is a new concert t-shirt with the current set list and the picture form the LMBTL album cover, and another LMBTL t-shirt (same picture, but no setlist on the back and a different cover) She also has a few small pieces of jewlery (in the 1,000 dollar range) that I had not noticed before. I sometimes wonder if she can hear the audience.I don't care about the lipping either! Did she change up Open Arms also? I love the "this empty house" part! Have fun in February!! I agree about it depending on the audience and the night. This audience was pretty nice actually. My first trip, the audience stood up to welcome her and then at the end when she asked, and again after MWHWGO. It almost felt like she had to drag the group along. The second trip, I had great seats! (Front Orch. , Sec. 2, HH) It was exciting to be down there because everyone was really into the show and cheering, so it was noticably different. On the 18th, I think we gave her like 4 or 5 standing ovations (at least), and people kept yelling to her. So, even though I wasn't in Front Orchestra, it still had a similar energy (this time Rear Orchestra, 3, section E)) I think she can hear some things. One person yelled "Je T'aime, Celine" and she laughed and said thank you. I think she laughed because people kept shouting things like I love you and she got a lot of standing ovations. Then, in Because You Loved Me, when she asked the audience to sing the last part, one guy in the front sang before anyone else, so she stopped and he sang it her, and she said something like he might have a future in Vegas. Then she asked everyone to sing (or maybe everyone just did, haha). It was a fun group! Everyone that I could see was jumping to their feet even faster than I was. So, it really does depend on the night. Open Arms did not change (otherwise stated, it's still awesome!) Edited January 21, 2014 at 12:27 AM by NicoNV 3 Quote

Was it a sell out, Where did you sit, you should go back in aug with a lot of us, I had no idea a big group was going in August. Let me know the dates! Any excuse to go to Vegas I say, haha Not that many empty seats. There were two in the very very front row in section 5. But, those seats are typically reserved for high rollers anyway, or contest winners, special guests, etc. You can't buy them, so I don't count it as an empty seat. I wouldn't have noticed at all,, but during one of the songs, the spot light landed almost right on the seats. I didn't really notice any other empty seats. Right before the show started, I looked around and maybe noticed two or three seats in the section across from me, but after she did her intro and first song, an usher walked in several more people. So, it was at least sold out on the floor (with the exception of those two seats people can't buy anyway). Not sure about the Mezz levels. I didn't notice any empty seats though, and normally in a show if more than a couple seats are empty you notice. This trip, I sit in Rear Orchestra, Section 3, Row E. I much prefer Front Orchestra, but I went with some friends and when we bought the tickets we couldn't get seats together in Front Orchestra. My last trip, it was Front Orchestra ,Section 3, HH. My very first trip was Rear Orchestra, Section 4, I think row N or M. There isn't a bad seat really, but I would not want to sit as far back as my first trip again. But, like I said, it's hard to get a bad seat there. Edited January 21, 2014 at 12:27 AM by NicoNV 1 Quote
