SuperLove4Celine Posted January 3, 2014 at 11:18 PM Posted January 3, 2014 at 11:18 PM (edited) I've noticed within the past couple of days that Céline's website has randomly started adding factoids about "Somebody Loves Somebody" and "Water And A Flame." Now, they could be starting a trend by doing so with every song off the new album, but my gut says otherwise. Could they possibly be getting a bit more promotion going for songs which will be officially added into "Celine" to help generate a bit of hype for them? I sure hope so! In other unrelated things, here is a handful of "Céline originals" (excluding the two mentioned above) which I feel should be added to "Celine." Not only because they would work amazingly well, but also because they are either well-known or "fan favorites":"Have You Ever Been In Love""Then You Look At Me (Theme From 'Bicentennial Man')""Think Twice""That's The Way It Is" (new arrangement specifically for "Celine" a la "I'm Alive ('Taking Chances World Tour' Mix)")"Qui peut vivre sans amour?""Unfinished Songs (Theme From 'Unfinished Song')" Edited January 3, 2014 at 11:22 PM by SuperLove4Celine 3 Quote
karll_garca Posted January 4, 2014 at 02:57 AM Posted January 4, 2014 at 02:57 AM it's very disappointed when you think about it but I think they won`t change nothing for a while because the new cd has "studio" songs from the show like overjoyed and at seventeen which they must be out, and others like how do you keep the music playing and lullaby and of course the french song .... and it's eve more disappointed when we all know that Celine has a unique voice and a lot of greats songs. SuperLove4Celine Posted January 5, 2014 at 11:25 PM Posted January 5, 2014 at 11:25 PM Still nothing? Really a shame... Even "A new day..." had more changes in the first couple of years! "A New Day..." also had a much more "hands-on" creative director (Franco Dragone) than "Celine" currently has (Ken Erlich). People can say what they want about how distracting Dragone's vision was to Celine's original Vegas spectacular, but at least he showed more care for the evolution of the show than Ken could ever dream of demonstrating. (This isn't just going by opinion or hunches, by the way.) 2 Quote
DionFanAlways Posted January 6, 2014 at 01:02 AM Posted January 6, 2014 at 01:02 AM Well I can't really compare "AND" to "Celine" (the show), they are totally different animals and are designed to be that way! I´m going to see her live on June for the first time in 22 years as a fan. The only way this is possible it´s because Vegas exists.I don´t care what she is going to sing. I´ll even stand MHWGO. So I guess that´s the audience for Vegas, many people who never saw her before. Just the fact I´m going to breathe the same air as her worth it. 11 Quote Team Céline Dion Brazil@lu_celinefan

It's really disturbingValid point. NYE should be full because it NYE. Idk....maybe everyone was at Britney's show? Regardless, though. I think they do need to do something to keep us all coming more often. I'm planning on the final shows for sure and I'd like to go back between now and then but if there aren't any real changes I don't have as much motivation to spend all the money to do so. If I had more free cash-flow I'm sure I'd go all the time but I have to watch my budget. Which is what I think is happening now with a lot of fans. We want to go but for now there's no motivation because it's the same show. Three girls that work at my husband's station went to Britney's show while they were in Vegas that week for NYE. One said she really enjoyed it because she did all of her hits and then some. Another girl said it was cool for the same reason but that it was completely obvious she lipped the entire show & her dancing wasn't great at all. When she was younger her moves were tighter and more spot on. They said now she just looks like she's going through the motions to get through the show and that's it. I contemplated going to see her if I happened to be there when she was there (and I wasn't seeing Celine of course) but after hearing that I'm not sure I'd really want to even spring for the cheap seats. I knew she'd lip the whole thing but if she's really acting like she doesn't want to be there and the show isn't what you'd expect, even for Britney, (not to mention that story about her expensive "meet & greet"....if you can even call it that) I kinda feel like, "why bother?". rhapsodion Posted January 8, 2014 at 11:30 PM Posted January 8, 2014 at 11:30 PM I watched some of the bootleg videos of Britney's show, i am quite impressed of the stage setting and video backdrops. I hope celine's team could learn and get some ideas from their production. But i agree that britney's dancing is....hard to watch, as if she was just moving her limbs without really feeling for it. As for the NYE show, both dec 30 and 31st were both blocked off for selling a long time before show dates. I bet the casino reserved quite a number of seats for their VIP, and it turned out that some of the VIPs didn't bother showing up for the show. Quote

I'm sure some of the stage settings are spectacular. That's part of what makes a Vegas show. But if the artist doesn't necessarily deliver.....there's only so much the other stuff will compensate for. Plus, for opening week.....I'd expect her to light the room on fire with energy, etc. It's not like she's been there for a year now and just having an off night. You have one shot to get it right and I just don't think she'll be able to keep up. I was hoping she would be able to but I just don't think she has it in her anymore. Out of my generation, I would love to see Beyoncé or Justin Timberlake with a show in Vegas. I think those shows would be fabulous!! Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. LukeD Posted January 12, 2014 at 03:06 AM Posted January 12, 2014 at 03:06 AM (edited) Surprised to see the show was not sold-out in NYE. It has been steadily declining which makes me think it needs some drastic changes and promotion too (Last time she promoted the show in an interview was back in February 2011). In my opinion, it is one thing to have an orchestra and another one to sing the same songs for 4 years in a row. There are songs in her album she could use now, songs she doesn't find boring like her biggest hits. First of all, she should take advantage of some great songs in her latest album. I'm sure this will excite her and the audience will only react positively to this excitement. Edited January 12, 2014 at 03:07 AM by LukeD 1 Quote

I hate that AXS listed it as sold out if seats were available. Surprised to see the show was not sold-out in NYE. But, in terms of it not selling well, her lowest month for 2013 was 92% sales, and that was in July 2013. Tickets sold: 15,456 (out of 16,706). See: http://en.wikipedia....residency_show) In contrast, Cher sold 80 to 86%, and even dropping as low as 74% when she was there (http://en.wikipedia....t_the_Colosseum) Granted, Elton John's lowest seems to be 96%. (http://en.wikipedia....on_Dollar_Piano) Bette Midler had a few months in the 50-60% sold range (54%, 57%, 58%, and 59%) (http://en.wikipedia....girl_Must_Go_On) That all being said, everyone is still selling a ton of tickets. Overall, Celine's show seems to be the longest running show that is also the most consistently sold. That all being said, I hope she does add new songs and re-does the show a little bit. Not because I do not like it--sort of just the opposite. I liked it so much I have seen it more than once So, adding new songs would be great! Edited January 12, 2014 at 04:15 AM by NicoNV Quote

She sings LMBTL instead of RITD and sang 'Incredible' once too.Does anyone have the new setlist? Not sure when the new songs will be added, but based on different threads on this board and an interview Rene gave at one point, there will be at least three new songs added: LMBTL (as LukeD said, she is already singing that)Water and a Flame and, I beileve the third song that has been confirmed will be either Didn't Know Love or Save your Soul--I can't remember now. But, in an interview with the songwriter for Thankful and Always Be Your Girl, she said that she has been told both of those songs will also be added to the show (I believe this interview was posted on the Celine Discussion board under the Official Album discussion thread). My best guess is that the biggest changes will take place in June. This is because she has a couple of months off before the start of the June shows to work on show changes. It's a bit hard to make major changes in the midst of a show run. 1 Quote
