I went for the third time this past weekend, and it was fantastic!

 

The changes I noticed were small, but there was some changes. First, as we all know, she is singing Loved Me Back to Life. Second, she is singing the majority of the songs 100% live now. Before everyone chimes in about how good she is at lip synching, blah blah, I am telling you I have seen her in concert three times, and this time the majority of her songs were live. In fact, I would say 90% of the show was live, if not 95%. The only lipped parts were a part of Where Does My Heart Beat Now and part of The Reason. She sounds amazing live. Unbelieveably so. Third, she is singing MHWGO slightly differently--she is doing exactly as she did in NY, she is performing the opening instrumentation (she had not done this on my two prior visits. This is also why I said 90 or 95% live, because I could not tell if the open was lipped or not. I don't think it was though).

 

The show was so much fun!

 

In terms of my lip synch comments, personally, I could care less when she lip synchs--I am just super grateful I had the chance to see her in concert!

 

Was anyone there this past weekend? I ask because I was there on the 18th, and she played with her monitors a few times, and she kept wiping her eyes. I thought it was maybe allergies or just make-up in her eyes, but she did it for pretty much the entire show off and on. I didn't know if anything was wrong, and was just wondering if anyone had heard anything. It was probably just allergies or make-up (the only reason I even thought it would be something else is because she played with her monitors, and I remember someone on this website saying she does that when she is not comfortable (maybe it was Koolan that said that?? I can't remember), plus in the past she was always on stage spot on at 7:30 or one minute after and on the 18th she was like maybe 10 or 15 minutes late starting.

 

Whatever the reason (or non-reason), it did not impact the show at all. She was fantastic that night! Like I said, almost 100% live (with the few very minor exceptions I mentioned, and personally did not care about), she appeared to have fun, she talked to someone in the audience for a minute and had a back and forth for a minute with them. It was awesome! I always think, I have seen the show, I do not need to see it again. Then, half way through, I think "When can I come back?" haha. The production quality is amazing, and her band is stellar. I mention this last point because I went to another show in Vegas over the weekend---it was like night and day in terms of quality of the theater, quality of the production and the staff involved. Everything about the Celine show is highest quality. It's fantastic--if you can make it to Vegas, you have to see it!

 

I hope to go back this summer, after the new songs are added. Honestly, I hope to go back before that (But, with work and everything, I will probably have to wait until July anyway).

 

 

Some people care about Boutique stuff. So, new things I noticed is a new concert t-shirt with the current set list and the picture form the LMBTL album cover, and another LMBTL t-shirt (same picture, but no setlist on the back and a different cover) She also has a few small pieces of jewlery (in the 1,000 dollar range) that I had not noticed before.

 

I was there too !!!! And it was amazing !!!! I was next to the guy who sang to her at the end of because you loved me,,,,

Her official facebook recently "promoted" a few of the tracks from her album. So I wonder if that was to introduce more people to some songs that will be added in.

 

I hope the show continues to evolve and change. It would be a bigger incentive to go back to Vegas soon! I went for opening night and the show hasn't changed enough since then (in 2011) for me to go back just yet. Although, I'm craving a Celine concert! I would've loved to see her in Europe recently. To hear a French concert, live.... A DREAM!

They're still pushing tracks from the new album on her Facebook page. Who knows -- but I very much hope for some changes. Whether it's songs from LMBTL or songs from her past repertoire. I'd take more jazz songs too!!

First, people were anticipating a change when she returned after Christmas last year. Then, people were anticipating changes when she returns this Tuesday. Now, it's anticipation for Summer. If they were going to change something, surely they would have done it when they changed all the branding for the show after Christmas? The new posters make the show look modern and edgy, but the show is still the same old songs! The old posters matched the concept of the show much better.

• "River Deep, Mountain High" replaced "I Drove All Night" as the show's pre-encore closer
  
• "Et je t'aime encore" was added and then replaced by "Pour que tu m'aimes encore"
  
• "A New Love (Interlude)" was removed entirely
  
• "I Drove All Night" was moved toward the beginning of the show
  
• A new interlude was created specifically as an opener for "Seduces Me"
  
• "Have You Ever Been In Love" was part of the show upon opening
  
• "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was part of the show upon opening

• "Alone" removed from set list upon Opening Night even though the title appears on select merchandise in the boutique
  

Granted, we're only nearing the current show's 3-year mark, but to say "A New Day..." remained practically the same since its Opening Night is inaccurate, in my opinion.

You are correct - I don't take into consideration how often costumes changed. New costumes are not enough for me to spend $250 on a ticket plus plane/hotel fare to go see the show again in Vegas. That is what I am basing my "show didn't really change" on.

In the interview with Dana Parrish, I thought she mentioned something about Thankful & ABYG being added? (Not sure where thankful would go but I'd imagine ABYG would replace Lullabye) I also think I remember something on here where they hoped to incorporate Incredible at one point, too. Not sure if they'd try to do a hologram performance and replace one of the two already there or if would be a video duet (similar to ATW in the AND show & the prayer on the world tour). I don't have all the articles mentioning this off-hand right now but most of this, if I'm remembering correctly, came from several different interviews with either Renee, Celine, or Dana Parrish. I'm hoping to see these added to freshen up the show. If they don't add them now I'd certainly hope they add them starting with summer run. I don't have the article handy, but I remember reading somewhere online that "Breakaway" was also being planned as becoming part of the set list for "Celine," as well as "Water And A Flame." If all of those articles are true, that would mean the following songs are (or were) planned to become part of "Celine" at some point:

• "Breakaway"
  
• "Incredible"
  
• "Thankful"
  
• "Always Be Your Girl"
  

 

Furthermore, think of the following songs from "Loved Me Back To Life" already in the show:

• "Open Arms" (if you include the Japanese edition, or new international "Incredible" digi-single)
  

 

Even if "Incredible" were to replace one of the hologram songs, and "Always Be Your Girl" were to replace "Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)," that would still make for one lopsided set list. I can't imagine that many songs from the new album finding their way into the current show. I have a feeling the following songs have been scrapped altogether:

That means only "Water And A Flame" and "Incredible" are left with having the potential for being added. We'll see if my hunch is correct as the months ahead near.

Seeing as Celine is in Vegas until 2019, I think the best thing for them to do would be to end the current show at some point in the next 1-2 years, and launch a brand new show with a brand new setlist. That way they can ditch all the old covers and have a completely new vision. It would certainly boost ticket sales, as people will know that they are returning to Vegas to see something different. At the moment, I have no intention of seeing Celine's current show again, as nothing has really changed since I saw her in August 2011. when the CEO of Caesar's was interviewed earlier this year (or late last year) they asked about Celine's contract extension until 2019, and he said something around of the lines of "I don't want to give too much away, or ruin it…"or something like that.

 

I think there will be bigger changes than we expect
