I don't want it be rude, as in singing while she's trying to talk. I'd rather it be done during one of the musical interludes if it has to "interrupt" a portion of the show. Or even before the show starts. Maybe have a group show up early while they are seating people. Rene usually shows up during this time doesn't he? I just don't like the idea of interrupting her.

The only saving grace about her recording sometime between now and December is that her voice will be nice and rested. We just wanted to make sure she sounds good, no matter what she sings. That's the most important thing.

I think this is quite a lot - and there are many, many artists out there who release much less. So, I don't really understand your frustration and disappointment...

I know this is a bit 'off topic', but while we are waiting for the scans or at least further information I have to say that I find your position rather sad, with all due respect:

 

I think the tour was a great thing that has allowed many fans to see her in concert, fans like me who couldn't make it to Vegas. Moreover, I personally consider the Live-DVD and the tour movie as wonderful and still enjoy watching them from time to time. There might be some flaws (I certainly don't want to re-open this debate ), but they represent overall, in my opinion, great live recordings.

 

I know that there is a rather negative and highly critical mood among many people here, but that someone can consider him- or herself a fan of Celine while arguing that all the releases of the last 4 years are basically crap and useless is beyond me. I mean, you are of course entitled to your opinion and I can understand your desire for new material, but being that much blasé and fed-up seems to me as not very healthy. It certainly goes beyond just having a critical mind.

 

But anyhow, I seem to end up defending Celine over and over again, although I tended to be one of the more critical persons myself. But reading all this unjustified and exagerrated criticism makes it very difficult to forumlate a moderate, balanced critique, so here we go

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks that going in Céline's face like that IN THE MIDDLE OF HER SHOW is a good idea and will have a positive outcome is delusional. Also, if a group of Céline fans show up before the show and start singing and creating a disturbance before the show, you'll all be thrown out and rightfully so.

 

Honestly, we've been through this topic so many times and I'm really sick of it. If you don't like the setlist don't go to the show! If you don't like the songs she records anymore, don't buy the album and maybe it's time you get a divorce from Céline!

I'm sure if a group of fans started singing Then You Look At Me, Celine's reaction would probably be "oh rene what song is that, I want to cover it in my new show" .....she probably doesn't remember the song. Afterall, the newest song in the show is MHWGO because thats when her career ended.

 

 

And I agree with Claudette about BATB being the only song I applaud. It's the only performance in the show that does the song SOME justice. Everything else is shortened by 2 minutes, lipped, butchered, or a cover.

I fully agree...

 

The setlist of a show is not something that should or can be changed by an organised protest. If you meet Celine or someone from her team, then share your thoughts, but staging a kind of protest in the middle of a show is simply ridiculous.

 

And yes, what Celine and any other artist is doing is just an offer: If somebody doesn't like it, then they shouldn't buy it. And if you don't like what an artist has been doing for a few years, if you are constantly disappointed and angry, then you should consider 'abandoning' this artist.

 

Hell, isn't this what happens all the time: Artists change, personal preferences change, and if it doesn't fit anymore, one moves on. I did this many times with other artists and perhaps one day I will stop listening to Celine.

 

And before the objection is made: This doesn't mean that you have to like everything the artist does. But a basic sense of feeling connected and in line with an artist should be a given.

I agree 100% with you, it would be extremely rude to do that in the middle of the show. I love the show, I love the set list, it works amazingly well. To sing in the middle of show, would be distracting to her, to the band, and the rest of the crew. If you don't like the song list,the arrangement, simply don't go to the show. Simple as that, save your money, and go to a different show. Plus if you sing during show, the ushers would escort you out as fast as you can say Dion. So, I think it's a horrible idea.

I agree! I saw the show when it first opened and can't wait to go back - hopefully with good seats.

 

I think we should all go there and as soon as Celine comes out, we should all charge the stage so that she understands that she should've built the theatre with only ONE row so everyone could be front row. I mean it's really not fair that everyone can't be front row.

First, some of you guys just crack me up. By complaining about the complainers, you just contribute to the vicious circle. If you don't like it, use the ignore button. This is a forum and everybody is entitled to post their thoughts and ideas here. So there is nothing anybody can do to stop it.

 

Second, I'm happy that there are people that actually enjoy the setlist as it is now, but I think at the moment there are far more people that don't. Here is an idea, shall we start betting on how long this show will last in the form it is now? I highly doubt it will survive 5 years. And I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to see that happen. Everybody here complains because they want the best for Celine too, not just for ourselves.
