For those of you who are old enough, like me, to remember the MHWGO craze in 1997-98 -- remember when all the radio stations (at least in the US) were making their own versions of MHWGO by splicing in bits of the movie dialogue during the instrumental portions? (I think they all did "Iceberg . . right ahead" in the dramatic break before "you're hear/there's nothing i fear") I loved those versions, and I think that's a large part of why the song got something like the most radio airplay of any song ever -- there were so many versions of it. They did it also for the "Southampton" single (that purely instrumental piece off the Titanic soundtrack.

Do you all prefer the song with or without the movie dialogue? Anyone have a favorite version with movie dialogue? Do you think we'll be hearing these versions again?

I remember it very clearly, our local radio station, z100 had their own remix with dialogue. They were even giving it away as a prize for caller 100. That's my favorite! Sometime later, I finally found the mp3. Think I still have it recorded on a cassette lol

Also, does anyone else remember the dance remixes of MHWGO? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIa9CeAmZaY I think the beginning is super-catchy-- but it strikes me as a bit bizarre to make this particular song into a clubby dance song . . .

Ohhhh to have been apart of the 1998 craze.

I remember being completely obsessed with the song, but I had no idea who Celine was, nor did I care then. Oh the irony..

LOL, I had the Z100 remix on a cassette tape too! I even recorded the commercial where they were advertising that contest giving it away. But my favorite was the WPLJ version, which was longer, because they had a minute or so at the beginning of dialogue set to other Titanic music, and then segued into the MHGWO beginning.

Yesterday I went to one of the local cemeteries here in Halifax and visited the Titanic graves. It was quite touching seeing the rows of graves from the Titanic. People had left coins by the headstones and some had flowerts. Here are a few pictures I took. I thought you might like to see them. Also last night I attended an event to mark the disaster. I've included a few pictures. At one point they had a young guy sing My Heart Will Go On. I thought he did a great job. I will try to find the video.

Thank you for the pix Del!! The grave of the little unknown child is so depressing

I am glad they are still remembered this way...

The Tony Moran Mix is the reason I bought the Immortality single, cos it was on it :in_love: that was the start of my collecting obsesion! :innocent: :blushing1:

Like I said, it's annoying they didn't make new remixes for the song for this 2012 release :pinch: :dots:

Was it different than the one that was on the Back To Titanic album??

Placido Domingo recently just released his new album Songs

which include Il Mio Cuore Va / My Heart Will Go On

but unfortunetly there's no Celine......but with Megan Hilty

too bad..... so i'm guessing Celine did actually record the song with Domingo!

Courage don't you dare fail me now!

Celine on Titanic premiere 1997

Next year will be the 20th anniverary of MHWGO/LTAL and Titanic.

This era made me a fan.

I can't believe it's been almost 20 years, can still remember the first time I heard mhwgo! I was driving in the car, just got my license a month or so before and when I arrived at my destination had to sit in the car with the radio on to listen to the whole song. Good memories!

I can't believe it's been 20 years either! The first time I heard the song was on a VH1 special about LTAL. They showed the MHWGO video, but it didn't have the clips of Celine singing in it . .it was just movie clips for the whole song. I thought it was the most powerful thing ever. I watched my tape of it over and over and over again. . . 20 years! crazy!!!!

I am soooo happy about this release ! Well, I wish I would get a gold or silver release, but I think that I'll stay with the regular one, more affordable :)

One more reason for me to buy a vinyl player :-)

Is the discogs database updated yet ?
