CelinesDIVO5 Posted November 24, 2017 at 06:47 PM Posted November 24, 2017 at 06:47 PM This is a special edition of the film's score. It's not meant as a pop music/soundtrack release. It's moreso for enthusiasts of film scoring. Javito Posted November 24, 2017 at 09:03 PM Posted November 24, 2017 at 09:03 PM Bollocks. What's the Titanic soundtrack without MHWGO on it? It's as nonsensical as stupid this decision. Looks as if it had been tailored exactly by the Team Celine people lol A Titanic anniversary soundtrack with 4 discs, without the main theme song of the movie on it . What will be next? 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

There's only one movie version and the version on LTAL album. Céline didn't record any more than what's actually on the song, you know. There's no demo nor alternate takes, the demo became the final and only version... Haha that's what happens when the girl is so good. In this case we don't have any more material because there's only one recording of the song 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Sissel recordingSissel Kyrkjebø recorded the song for the movie in 1997, but Celine Dion's vocals was preferred due to James Hornerdecision to support Dion's career.[125][126][127][128][129] In an interview from December 2014, Horner quotes: "When I had completed the Titanic , I had to decide for Celine Dion or Sissel['s] [vocals]. Sissel I am very close, while Celine I had known since she was 18, and I had already written three film songs for [her]. But that was before Celine was known and filmmakers and marketing people had not done what they should have done for Celine and [her] songs. So I felt I owed her a Titanic chance, but I could [still] have used Sissel there."[130] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Heart_Will_Go_On never heard before Quote #FREEJAVITO

celinesounds Posted November 26, 2017 at 11:55 AM Posted November 26, 2017 at 11:55 AM and Rose with Celine's Voice? Rose — The sentimental theme of the film that is associated with the romance between Jack and Rose. Whilst in the major key for the most parts, this leitmotif's rousing chorus modulates to the relative minor key. The theme features orchestral violin, strings and piano. Electronic choir intrudes at times. Sissel Kyrkjebø performs the wordless vocals of this theme, with Céline Dion singing this leitmotif in lyrical form (as My Heart Will Go On). This theme is first heard when Jack sees Rose for the first time on the deck. Quote #FREEJAVITO

Javito Posted November 26, 2017 at 02:55 PM Posted November 26, 2017 at 02:55 PM (edited) Sissel performed the lyrics of MHWGO during the Titanic concert in 2012 because they coudn't have Céline to perform the theme song for that event (unfortunately), so it was a decision as to compensate the absence of Céline for that world premiere of the live soundtrack. And note that she only sings part of the lyrics and during a piece that is called "Titanic Suite", not as a separate song in the concert (or closing it) as MHWGO would have been. So guys, Sissel never wanted to replace Céline nor MHWGO was ever supposed to be recorded by Sissel . But MHWGO was really intended to be performed by Céline since the first minute, as James Horner told many times that he wanted a theme song for the movie performed by a pop vocalist, but Jim Cameron didn't want any, so he had to arrange the whole thing secretly as we all know. However, James Horner did want Enya to perform the vocal part during the score that was eventually given to Sissel. But Enya refused. MaiconSC Posted November 27, 2017 at 06:07 PM Posted November 27, 2017 at 06:07 PM Actually Sissel did sang the full version of My Heart Will Go On... Back in 2015 in an event called "Titanic Live", where the movie was exhibited with a live orchestra and choir playing the soundtrack... Sissel and James Horner itself was there to sing and lead the orchestra at the première. The version of MHWGO was the 5'11 from the movie credits. 3 Quote

chocolatechip15 Posted November 28, 2017 at 02:06 AM Posted November 28, 2017 at 02:06 AM I seem to remember reading that when they were making Titanic, they used Enya's Book of Days as a temporary music track until they had the music finalized. But I don't think it was ever intended to be used in the final film. Here's an article about it: http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/titanic.html Quote

It's a pity she refused only because someone else was composing the score and not her doing all the work . But yeah, that's how Enya works, it's "all or nothing" (that's why she takes up to 7 years to release a new album lol) Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
