I don't think Kate would be as famous as she is right now if it weren't for that movie. The "Titanic" movie and song was huge back then!

No no, there's a story behind that . In the Titanic soundtrack there is the part played by Sissel with her vocals throughout the soundtrack and then there's the main theme performed by Céline, that, like everyone knows, it wasn't meant to happen until the last moment. The director didn't want a theme song with lyrics, and thanks to James Horner we have Celine Dion in this project singing the theme song in the credits. But Sissel's part was planned since the beggining of the project, only to do the vocals of the melody, not to sing any song. However, what few know is that Enya was asked first to do that part in the soundtrack, and only when she rejected (BIG mistake in her career!) they asked Sissel (whose voice was similar) to do the vocals instead

 

So the Titanic soundtrack could have been even a bigger success with the name of Enya + Celine in it. But Sissel did a great work, no question about it!

And I'm soooo glad Celine is not trying to get some promo out of the Titanic rerelease.

Celine has other commitments, simple as that- they have probably already screwed up her schedule with the voice-rest after getting sick...producers etc. for the new albums. She can't do everything.

Celine is just getting back to her normal self, she wouldn't risk everything and travel and be around people right now. I'm sure Celine is feeling alot of pressure to get better. If the slightest thing happens to throw her off her feet again, she is just going to be pushing her commitments back even further.

 

Celine doesn't want to be seen in the public eye right now cuz she doesn't want to send mixed messages to her fans. People could think, She's not sick, she's at a red carpet appearance. I know that's not what her true fans would think, but i know that is how Celine thinks. Celine even mentioned these kind of situations in her For Keeps book.

 

Celine said she doesn't go out in public alot cuz she's afraid people will think that, if she cancels a show and they see her going bowling with her son, they will think she's not sick. If i were her i wouldn't want to travel right now. After everything she has been through. Celine could have almost lost her voice forever.

 

She has reason's for doing what she does. Celine goes to great lengths to protect her voice and at the same time, she tries to please everyone. It's very stressful and i know Celine must be stressed out right now.

Yes, it´s strange but it´s true, there are many people who knows her only because of MHWGO. But true is that MHWGO was very very very ... BIG hit.

That's probably one of the reasons. I'm quite not sure about how famous Celine is in the US, but I hope that she is way more famous there than here in Spain.

I totally agree!!!! Kate Winslet has made quite a few bad choices in movie roles!!!

 

How dare she criticize Celine. That movie "put Kate on the map", so to speak. She should be more grateful and appreciative.

 

Plus, she's no where near as classy of a woman as Celine is.

Whoa… This kind of makes me feel funny inside. I love Kate Winslet -- but for her to be so harsh about the song that helped the film skyrocket to astronomical success is kind of rude. She could have at least prefaced it with, "Celine Dion is an incredible singer BUT…"

 

Oh, well. We can't pretend like it's not a bit cheesy. But, come on, the movie itself is cheesy too. So Kate Winslet can't really bash the song without bashing the movie itself!!!

Most people would agree that that song was majorly overplayed...Kate didn't say she despised Celine or that she was a rubbish singer- I can imagine she is sick of that song being played everytime she is at an event or whatever...
