I love Kate Winslet -- but for her to be so harsh about the song that helped the film skyrocket to astronomical success is kind of rude. She could have at least prefaced it with, "Celine Dion is an incredible singer BUT…" Oh, well. We can't pretend like it's not a bit cheesy. But, come on, the movie itself is cheesy too. So Kate Winslet can't really bash the song without bashing the movie itself!!! Agreed. Reality check: without the soundtrack, you wouldn't be living the comfortable life you do, Kate! The movie wouldn't have gone on to become half of what it did without Sissel, Celine & James Horner. It's highly rude of her say. I loved that song at first but after hearing it 500 million times, i actualy got really sick of it and it turned me off celine for like 2 years roughly where i stopped listening to her But im over that now (obviously!!!), but i think , unfortunetely, thats what made Celine "uncool" to like,people were sick of hearing her. The radio stations should not have over played it. I dont mind listening to that song any more now, lets say when Celine is in concert, but i would never turn it on my Mp3 player. I get no pleasure out of Listening to it, so i understand what Kate was saying... (A little "out there" for Kate to say the song makes her want to throw up.... I'd imagine this performance would've been professionally recorded for inclusion on the inevitable Titanic 3D DVD/Blu-Ray to come in the future. Without the use of the same old version. She is so happy having a full orchestra around her. Than make use of that orchestra! What I hear in My heart will go on in Vegas, is the old tourversion, except that the electronic strings parts are taken over by real ones. But this sounds so much better, so much more majestic! and if Celine had the voice again, she should have been singing here.. Technically that part where Sissel is singing doesn't have lyrics, its just instrumental and not the full song as we know it, but its so beautifully and majestically played like only the composer knows to do it. Céline has missed again a one-of-a-kind event in her career that would have been an honour for her to perform next with the composer of the soundtrack, James Horner At least Sissel knew how to take advantage of it. But I've already seen pics from the red carpet of that premiere.... and april 4th is on wednesday so... And the duet thing didn't happen. And we should all be greatful. She makes perfect constructions of very complex psyches with her performances before and after Titanic. I would love another chance to have Celine, Kate and Leonardo together again. It sucks that Celine and Leo were not at the premiere. It wasn't the same without them. Quote
