"Titanic" anniversary - Official Topic

Do you think that the Titanic soundtrack, and My Heart Will Go On will be returning to the music charts?? If and when that happens, this is the place to post any news!

 

 

No I don't think so. People are already fed up with the song, and most radiostations even more. And thanks to this Celine will again be remembered because of this song only ( and some others)

I also think that the 3d release of Titanic will be a major mistake. Not because it will be looking great in 3d, but because millions of people have seen the movie already and have it on dvd or vhs. And it has been on each tvstation multiple times. So only a new generation can be attracted. But there is also the problem of ageing; the old Rose has already died, Leonardo and Kate have grown up. So if teenagers want to be really swept away by Leonardo, there is no young leonardo anymore they can admire or stick on their wall ( posters). That effect is gone.

The song my heart will go on was original when it came out and it stimulated the movie and the movie stimulated the song. But since so many people know this song already, no more sells to be expected and the movie won't have the trigger effect again ( on both sides)

Wow, can't wait for the movie in 3D! I've seen it one DVD but I finally I get to watch this movie in theaters!

 

I agree with some of you that Celine should not record MHWGO in duet! It's a classic, don't mess with that.

I have to disagree. Yes, millions of people have seen the movie and own it on DVD or VHS, like myself. But millions of people want to re-experience Titanic in 3d and in HD. Not just this new generation. As another poster said, the public is unpredictable. But i think the re-release is a very good move.

As much as I love the new poster/album covers for Titanic... why are there two suns? O_o The one up in the sky to the far left corner, and then the one poking out from behind the bow of the ship... Cause, you know... it's setting, hence the sunset.

That's cause the duet will be in the re-released version of the 4 disk set in a gold tin. But seriously, I hope that the duet stays in the Sony Vault cause I can't imagine it as one.

Sorry but the cdcovers look like a simple Photoshopjob and that is esspecially because of the sun ( artificial photoshopped one) in the uppercorner

and the one on the front of the ship. I would have expected a better version for this..

ok so I've just arrived at home after watching the movie and YOU GUYS MUST WATCH IT. It's not only in 3D but also in HD!!! Amazing, it was worth the 3 years waiting. I took my iPod with me to record the song in the end credits just in case that it was the duet with Plácido Domingo, but it was the original soundtrack version by Celine. However, listening finally to Celine in a cinema was breathtaking. I'll be going back in April for sure!

I think if you look on which of the cd's they placed that duet version on, it suits with the rest of the tracks; classic old songs/classical music, and if My heart will go on is recorded in the style of Sarah Brightman's Il Mio Cuore Va ( Italian) version of the song.. I really want to hear it! And I think what is better that on itunes or other official stores you can choose which song you want to buy, and as I already have all the titanic soundtracks, I don't need another one, but I do want the new duet of course, so gonna buy that version for sure when it comes out:-) Edited February 15, 2012 at 02:36 PM by browseceline
