Whenever Celine does a new show, she always includes songs from her latest release. This show is no different - she's busy promoting My Love Essential Collection :sofunny:

They should have had a focus group from this forum about a year ago I don't know how much they can learn and rearrange and change before the show opens, but maybe it will indeed evolve over the next year or two- maybe by 2020 we'll have Then You Look at Me

 

We need RC to become a big Celine Dion fan so that he joins this forum and then he could show the computer screen with all this discussion going on to his mum and dad from time to time

I wrote about my concerns to Barnev and he answered me on facebook. I doubt they will change songs; he says the idea is to show songs which inspired Celine but still there can't be so many songs that inspired her so much that she has to perform them all in one show... i'm really fearful that the setlist will remain that bad:(

 

Can you tell him that what's up with what fans want her to sing? Did they ever stop to think that? Tell him that fans here want Celine to perform her own songs, and if possible, also songs post-2000!

Hey! Can't wait to hear BATB! but if you could, let the team know that there are way tooo many covers! The show is titled 'Celine' so there could be more songs from her own repertoire which is so big. Besides, why to abandon all songs created after 1997! It's such a shame. Those covers are surely sung amazingly but that's not what we expect... I'd be grateful

Thanks for the reply Barnev! I have no doubt that the show will be amazing! and of course Celine will do her best. What we are just thinking is that if the show is called 'Celine' we'd like to hear her songs. I don't mind covers but there are so many of them, the majority of the setlist, and we just miss more recent songs. That's all:) Hope you understand

I hope the audience won't be all positive at the rehearsals. I mean each person will see that there are many overs. The questions is, though, if they're gonne like it or think it's too much

 

I'd prefer her to stay at home a little longer and rethink how her career should look in the future, because now she is like back in the 90s, and think about creating sth new of HER OWN.... paying tribute to some artist (s) but not having majority of covers in the setlist, sorry, it's as if she had 60 years old

as far as I'm concerned all of these covers are practically like new celine songs to me, since it's the first time SHE'S singing them...so to me it's exactly what I want because I'm quite tired of her old material. personally I don't think any of her post 2000's material matches up to her pre-2000's material anyway so that's that

Well, I guess I am one of the few who is actually really exited about this set list. In fact, I wasn't planning on going to vegas until next summer to see the show, but I was so excited after reading about the set list and the reviews we got from the March 6th rehearsal that I have decided to go to vegas this summer instead because I can't bear the anticipation of waiting another whole year to see the show!

 

Honestly, I think it is great that Celine is doing so many songs that aren't her's. If we can't have a new CD from her then I at least appreciate that the show will be filled with songs that we have never heard her sing before. If I wanted to hear her sing her songs I would just listen to all of the CDs. I think it's great to hear her doing other material; songs that I haven't heard 300 million times from listening to her CDs.

 

Just a few little side notes, I am super pumped about BATB, that is the song that made me a Celine fan. I'm also really excited that she has been rehearsing Journey's "Open Arms" I hope that stays on the set list! and I just have to say that the blue dress she is wearing in the one photo we have from the rehearsal is gorgeous! that is my favorite color!

I'm not attacking Celine, im just saying her and her team need to start listening to the fans for a change...this is her forum so we all love her im not gonna argue that people that dont like her WRONG, sometimes people that complain are her biggest fans, they just want the best out of her and they want her to promote herself that means sing your own songs, dont promote James Bond what has he ever done for you? You know what we mean? Sure "The Power Of Love" is a cover and many are tired of it (including me sometimes) but at least that cover got her to a number one song, and helped her name become known...and i could go on but you guys get my point.

Someone here wrote to Barney (thanks!) that's a great start and if we can help, great, if not, I'm sure the show is going to be amazing anyway. I just hope that she could sing another French song with Ne me quitte pas, On ne change pas is great! Anyway, I trust them that everything is going to be great. We'll see, lots of things can still change in a week, I guess.

I know it's not that much time but I think that if they just take away or shorten a few covers to replace them by Céline's songs, they can do it. They can keep the main thing but just change a few little things, you know.
