genbidi1 Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:39 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:39 AM It's funny that the many of those complaining about the set list will probably never go to the show! I'm sure Céline is T'RILLED to be performing songs that she wants to perform! Imagine what her energy will be like? Bring on one week from tonight! I tollay agree the people who are complaining probaby are just jeouis. My situtation is I am probably going in July and I could care less what celine sings. I have to agree short hair is not a good look for Celine but, its not our call!! I will accept whatever choices she makes even if I don't agree. For the person who is correcting the grammer & spelling thanks but no thanks. Maybe people can't help it-take me because of my disablily my speech if effected making it hard to sound words out. I spell by memory. So, please think before you post Quote GENNI B.
Nmj Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:41 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:41 AM I think that if she keeps WDMHBN and ABMS she won't have a voice anymore after like 2 shows; those two songs cannot co-exist on the same set-list becoz they are over-demanding and their high notes are the highest ones she ever hit in her career; SPOILER! --Click here to view-- | --Cliquez ici pour voir--unless she lipsynchs one/two of them after a while And "The Reason" which i think is her most challenging song in the setlist Quote

smw Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:45 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:45 AM (edited) I think that if she keeps WDMHBN and ABMS she won't have a voice anymore after like 2 shows; those two songs cannot co-exist on the same set-list becoz they are over-demanding and their high notes are the highest ones she ever hit in her career; SPOILER! --Click here to view-- | --Cliquez ici pour voir--unless she lipsynchs one/two of them after a while That's why many of the vocally demanding songs have been lipped time and time again. It's not because Celine can't sing those difficult songs -- but it's impossible to sing them (perfectly) night after night. I, personally, don't want her to risk losing her voice. And I'm sure that if she performs these songs the way they were recorded, then they will be lipped (at least at some point after the initial concerts). It's complicated. Because Celine's career is comprised of some extremely vocally challenging songs. And people expect to hear those songs when they attend her shows -- so there must be lip syncing. But I also think her team has been smart putting together this show, because many of the songs seem to be songs that she can perform night after night LIVE. And that's what we're paying for. ABM is one note, and then it's done. Everything before, and most of it after is relatively easy. There is plenty of opportunities for breathing in between the lines, etc. Songs like DOL and The Reason are consistently sung in a high key with little time for breaths in between. Of all her playbacks for the last tour, this one was the most unnecessary. Even EOM was more justified. I just have to say the ABM note is so overrated. It's a 10 second Eb5.....let's think, Eb5 is not THAT high, and 10 seconds is not THAT long.... Hitting the G5 in Can't Help Falling In Love is more difficult than sustaining the Eb5. WDMHBN is indeed a difficult one, but she can pull it off. One show stopper shouldn't be to difficult. Hell, Live a Paris had Calling You, Le Blues Du Businesman, Prier Painne, Quand On N'a Que L'amour, RDMH, etc....all of those are loaded with notes! I know that was awhile back ago, but this isn't 2007 anymore than it is 1995. She is back to training and can handle now more than she did on the tour. The Reason, DOL, and RDMH are much harder than ABM, which consistently are sung in a high key. Open Arms will probably end up being a difficult one as well as the chorus is pretty challenging. Dionesque Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:51 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 03:51 AM (edited) So many news - thank you for all the infos so far!!! I don't care for the compains - I'm just EXCITED and can't wait to hear all these songs!!! So many of them will be new to my ears, esp. in Céline's randition and knowing these songs are special for Céline makes them special to me as well! As for Bond tribute being a "random" choice, as someone put it, well, maybe René and/or René-Charles are Bond fans? ;P That way she may have had no other choice but to become a fan as well, lol! Wow, spellbound, are you really using your cell right in the Colosseum without noone noticing/argueing??! You're a real trooper!! Enjoy the show and get back to us when you can! I'm attending the rehearsals on Thursday, March 10th and I'm freaking out here, lol!! I'll try to get infos to you by texting someone if I'll have some news to add to what we already know! spellbound Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:02 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:02 AM Still waiting for the show to start, they're having a lot of technical difficulties with the sound. They started to plau the opening video and it was completely silent. That was about 15 min ago. The mic worked fine but this is very strange for it to be taking this long to get any sound. Better tonight than Tuesday night I guess! I just hope it gets sorted out soon cause I can't take much more anticipation! No I don't think I'll be able to bootleg it though. They're trying to figure everything out but I'm getting really worried, they just said they haven't had a sound problem in their entire time here and they hope to get the show started. Fingers crossed cause I'll cry if the show doesn't happen tonight! Thanks, and I understand what you're trying to say, its been a long while since we just had Celine and a microphone, and straight up singing, something where she is all about the vocals, and not talking to her dancers mid-song. I Know i will love this show no matter what when i make it there this summer and i'm sitting in my chair waiting for the curtian to part. I'm just a little dissapointed that more of her rare hits are not in there thats all Quote

Nmj Posted March 9, 2011 at 05:11 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 05:11 AM Is anyone else kinda sad that they changed the start time from 8:30pm of the old show to 7:30pm for this one? I think it ends early when it starts that early, id rather have Celine til almost 10:30 Quote

You forgot that after the high note in ABM she keeps hitting constant high notes until she reaches the end and finishes the song with a high note as well [that's the stage/live version of the song]; I don't think she can pull it off every night with other difficult songs to handle as well in between; BTW, ABMS is IMO the main reason she lost her voice many times in her career [back in LTAL tour she dropped the song becoz it was too harsh and TCWT she kept it but she suffered a lot with her voice] Quote

That is the only way I'd want to hear that song again! Are you serious? Cyndi Lauper's version is very dull and sounds a lot like a song from the 80s Celine's version is much better because it fits more with the 00s era. Quote
Tyler1991 Posted March 9, 2011 at 05:20 AM Posted March 9, 2011 at 05:20 AM Not really. Celine's is a karaoke pop trashy mess that sounds like a ripoff, just my opinion. Cyndi's version is far superior. There is much more emotion felt in the song, the song is more powerful and raw. Cyndi's version is more of a ballad while Celine's is more of an attempt at pop/dance or something. Quote

I Agree, i like Cyndi's version much better, but i was never a fan of IDAN any-how probably one of my least favorite Celine songs. I dont know it never really stuck with me ever... im glad it got cut in this show actually. After having to hear it in every country on "Through The Eyes Of The World" may it rest in peace, I just wish it would take RDMH with it to song heaven. Edited March 9, 2011 at 05:25 AM by Nmj Quote
