but if you look it this way.... Celine didn't come out with a new album this time, so she is not promoting any album with this show. Unlike A New Day, she had to promote ANDHC album. With TC Tour she had to promote TC album.

 

Now there is no album and the concert is called "Celine". So she is promoting herself with whatever songs she wants.

 

But i think she should have choosen more of her songs from her albums (covers or not)

I will say....I am thoroughly confused as to why the one French song (that we know of now) in the show isn't even Celine's.....I mean..... WHAT?! If the Las Vegas audience can only take one French song shouldn't it be one of her 23874567457345345 amazing ones? NB, ANDHC & IS were all brand new songs, which is why there were in A New Day...

AA was a cover.

SM was a new song in the FIY tour, then revived in AND (just like ABM was revived for the TCWT).

Nature Boy was also a cover, it wasn't a brand new song at all :

Yes I know NB was a cover, but in response to the original post, I meant it was in AND because it was a new song for Celine, as it was on ANDHC.

 

In the Vegas DVD Michel Dion talks about the Italian dialect used in AA, and he said how the writer of the song flew over to Vegas to show Celine how to pronounce the words. So I assume it's a cover, unless this italian woman wrote the song especially for Celine's show, which seems unlikely...

well i know but for awhile now i consider anything that she has recored on album HER SONG, example: IACBTMN, TPOL, ABM,RDMH, but a song like Lullaby isnt for me considered a Celine song....

 

BOTTOM LINE: if its on a studio album, then i dont have a big problem of it being done live all of the above on my post were on a studio album even tho they are orginally cover songs...

 

Ideally for me would be all her hits that are already in the show, the MJ tribute, and Open Arms... maybe one more cover and thats all the rest should be Celines material...I would love if BOND was cut but that aint gonna happen.

That's exactly how I see it too - anything she's recorded is hers. (I just made the pie chart the other way in case people argued otherwise )

 

I wonder what category IIC & WAWW are in? They were orginally covers, then in 2004 recorded on Miracle

and im sorry but not creating a new english album before this show was a mistake, the orchestra may be a good idea but they need to use the young aspect of it, like they did in Quebec for that show it was young and fresh... im sorry im young and i want young fresh stuff and some hits... i dont wanna sit there to a snooze fest (Yes im aware that she has THE BEST VOICE IN THE WORLD) i think most of us agree on that thats why were here. But just about the whole setlist (thus far i know it could change) is mid-tempo or slow not all but most, then we got a shortened medley to get us excited towards the end with three upbeat songs (DOL, LCMM,RDMH) and bam were back to a slow song that has a flute and show over... PLUS thats like 7 years in a row that her shows end with the same three ENCORES... as you can see im kinda mad ( I LOVE CELINE) but this still makes me mad...

Am I the only one who thinks also that "Declaration of Love" sounds cheap? Its one of her cheapest uptempo songs to me, didn't they find a better song than this one?

nor was ANDHC (ballad version), AA, SM or IS. It's not that they choose singles only, they choose other songs too but THEY want it then not us. It's such a shaaaaaame! I'm really disappointed because if Celine wanted to do some song, she would do it, then it shows that she doesn't want to:(

 

I've said it zillion times: I find it shameful that with all the thousands of concerts and world tours Céline has done, and after 30 years of career, they still pay ZERO attention to what we may want or wish her to sing!

 

This won't be happening if only they had took a moment to ask us for a moment which songs we would like her to sing at this point.

 

I buy Celine Dion singles / albums in the hope that one day I can see those songs performed live either in person or on TV / DVD. I appreciate that Celine always includes covers in her shows but seriously 60% of the set list?

 

That's why I think & agree 100%, but say that to those who are saying here that everyone is going to see Céline whatever she sings "because she is Celine Dion". When they see that ANY of the songs they can listen at home in the CDs they bought is performed in her concerts, their faces will look like "and what about this or that song in her albums"?? "With more than 30 albums released and she's barely singing her songs?" Disappointment.

They should have had a focus group from this forum about a year ago I don't know how much they can learn and rearrange and change before the show opens, but maybe it will indeed evolve over the next year or two- maybe by 2020 we'll have Then You Look at Me

OH!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If the opening song is true, I'm in absolute heaven! Steve Perry is one of my all-time favorite singers, and I can't wait to tell my husband the news! We had 6th row tickets to see Journey (Years ago, of course) when we were both in college, and he sold them to someone else because he had a test that night! I almost strangled him!!! LOL! I haven't read all of these pages because that would take me forever, but I'm still hoping for Think Twice.

I wrote about my concerns to Barnev and he answered me on facebook. I doubt they will change songs; he says the idea is to show songs which inspired Celine but still there can't be so many songs that inspired her so much that she has to perform them all in one show... i'm really fearful that the setlist will remain that bad:(

I wish at least then we would have, "Thats The Way It Is", "A New Day Has Come", "The Power Of the Dream", and others that were hits that this show is lacking of.
