Last I checked, Celine Dion Forums was not a governmental agency.

Last I checked, Celine Dion Forums was not a governmental agency.

So it's ok the break laws if your not a governmental agency?

 

 

Anyways, laws or not, I think it gives a really bad wibe closing topics every now and then without even posting a comment in the thread of why the thread is decided to be closed.

"I'm so happy to be working with Luc again. We haven't given each other any deadlines. We want the best album. The fans are waiting for it and we want to give them the best", he said.

Will Luc have full responsibility for the album alone or is he doing lyrics only? anyone know? Also its good to hear that Rene wants Luc to take his time on getting the best album possible. I do hope Rene wants the same for the english release

Ive always followed Celine since i was young, but as a child i didnt follow her every move like we all do now,lol so i only remember Delles coming out, and following everything about that french album. I was so impressed with the design and the the album itself and i fell in love with "a Cause"! I really enjoyed everything about this album other than maybe a little more promo!

 

After Delles i moved onto all her other french songs, and few years later im in love with the french language Celine does something in french i can never hear in english. I dont know what it is, but i know its something very special!

 

 

If this next album is like her last, i will be very happy!

how can anyone say d'elles is a jewel is beyond me haha. it is her worst french studio album, on par with 1 fille 4 types. it isnt a bad album of course (neither is 1F4T), both are good compared to other artists, but they pale when compared to Dion Chante Plamondon, D'eux and S'il Suffisait D'aimer which are all masterpieces.

 

I wonder if those who love the album actually speak french. Her enunciation on the album is plain horrible, I couldn't understand so many words she said. Had to read the lyrics from the booklet for the first time ever with her french albums lol and i was like oh ok that's what she said haha. Her vowels were very nasal and "stuffed", and her voice nasal and tired. The texts were really good, most of them, but overall, it is nothing to rave about.

I have to agree on that! Compared with SSDA, to me D'elles is just a weak album, and like you say, the worst thing are not some of the plain songs, but her voice. It was sooo nasal at some points that you could clearly notice how different this album was from D'eux or SSDA. In Femme Comme Chacune it almost looks as if she couldn't reach the highs and her voice suffocated (however nothing to emphasize if we bring to the memory Miracle, which has to be her worst studio album vocally).

 

Of couse it has some very nice songs like OSAAC, but overall is not an album to rave about if you have listened DCP or SSDA. Even the previous one, 1F&4T is far better than D'elles to me. Musically and lyrically.

I don't think we can/should compare an album to another. They all are unique, at least from my point of view.

 

By the way, I'm REALLY excited about this upcoming French release. René said it's gonna surprise us big time, so I'm quite not sure of what we should expect, God I just can't wait for the fall!!!!!!

The reason i found it a jewel was because it was the first french album i ever listened to of Celine. I agree that other french albums are better, but to me i found D'elles to be amazing! I think it was the D'elles design, the special editions were well thought about

I really like D'elles! I wouldn't call it her best French album, but I wouldn't call it very bad. Maybe it is because I don't speak French fluently.

 

There are some really good songs on the album (to me) like ESNRQ, AC, JCLO, LTQC, LP, OSAAC.... but also the first french album with fillers IMO; FCC, La lettre blablabla...

 

I think most of the good songs, like Le Paradis and Le Temps Qui Compte, would have been much better and alive if they were performed in concert... but unfortunalty that will never happen

Yes, but, on the other hand, Taking Chances was recorded the same year and the vocals are flawless to me. Powerful and clear. The nasality is there at some points yes, but not that obvious compared with D'elles.

Each album has its "something" that makes it unique and special, even Miracle (which, I agree with most of you guys, showcases Celine's voice not exactly at its best...). For example, D'elles has that "chic" thing and the fact that it's a concept album that celebrates womanhood. I have to disagree with some of you who say that her vocals sound nasal and weak in the album; compare, for example, her voice on Immensité to her sound on Tous Les Secrets.
