Some of music from the JJG albums is hard to listen to.

What do you mean? I'm just curious.

I honestly prefer the Plamandon albums over the JJG because the Plamandon album her voice was awesome.

Maybe just because she was younger. I've already mentioned this in the 'Celine Dion' album topic - her voice started to change around 1993 and I think it lost much of its rawness and emoiton.

I don't know if this will have something to do with either the french or the english album, but François Lalonde (Humberto Gatica's assistant in the studio) has just uploaded this picture next with Eric Benzi in his fcb :)

Bell,

To Celine sone of the songs are hard to listen to meaning the genre of music he has her singing or the music itself. It does not get my attention.

No not my reason for that answer in fact her voice was awesome on the JJG one's too. The actually reason I don't like the JJG one's as much is because the music. I don't know why I wrote that. If it were because she was younger I would have stopped at the selftitled album.

Thanks for info, I saw some scans from it on net and as it´s interview it seems (I really hope) that it´s true and she will come to Europe (at least to France) this year, and also it seems that we will get french album this year.

And by the way, it looks like Ne Me Quitte Pas is going to be included in this French recording, instead of the English one.

It's logical. I mean, why including 'Ne me quitte pas' in an English album? Yes, it is a part of the Vegas show but I think it wouldn't fit an English album. it's just...too French. Edited by Bell

OMG. Thanks for the info! How recent is this interview?

Can someone translate, I would really appreciate it! :) Celine doesn't like to know what's going on with her schedule, so i hope currently working on her French album really means currently, cuz currently to her could be 6 months from now. LOL. Her team keep changing there minds every 2 seconds, so i hope this is true.

That song is a classic and so strong that it doesn't require that the listener understands French to realize its greatness. It would had been a good way to open up a way for people who only listen to her English material towards her French work.

How are you now? We know that last March you had certain problems with your voice...

I am very happy, I'm much better now. It was just a little virus. I'm back to coaching! Right now I'm recording my new French album.

You said you're back to coaching, do you mean sports?

No, I mean vocal coaching. I am not into sports at all. Apart of running behind my children, I don't do much. Sometimes I play golf with René...

Can you tell us something about this new album?

It's already been 6 years since I last recorded in French. This time I am surrounded by a lot of different lyricists and composers such as Luc Plamondon, Jacques Veneruso and Maxime Le Forestier. I also perform Ne Me Quitte Pas, by Jacques Brel, the favorite song of my dad, which I sing live in Vegas as well. I've always sang in French in the United States. I think that thanks to the music language, the message of the songs is always passed.

How do you feel about going back to the recording studio?

This album is gonna be like a baby. It's not about working, but about enjoying and having fun. With time I was able to understand that true happiness takes the biggest place in my life.

But what direction or style is it going to take?

It won't be a new Céline. It's a shame that, when we're 20 years old, we don't appreciate how fortunate we are to have our parents with us. And I have the privilege of having my mother with me at home. It's important to find time and to really enjoy and live every moment.

Were your twin boys responsible of your new perspective of life?

Yes... they grew up so well. They turned 18 months old yesterday. They are my true happiness. Before I used to hold completely to my vocal chords. Now, my children are my happiness.

Was sharing this happiness with your fans the reason why you decided to let cameras film your life?

I share everything with my fans. Some people criticize me for that, but I'm an open book and that helped me to squeeze my emotions. I had problems and I expressed them. My fans are part of my personal life and I wouldn't have a 30-year-career if it wasn't for them. I know I can't please everybody, but I also do this to keep a memory. When I see videos of my dad, I feel so glad that we could record him.

Titanic has just been released in 3D here in France and it became once again a total success, how did this movie inspire you?

It's hard to believe that I had privilege of being part of a classic like this. It's incredible to see that 15 years have passed by and that a new generation is loving this film as the first time.

They talk about you in Alain Chabat's movie Sur La Piste Du Marsupilami, in which Lambert Wilson makes a choreography to I'm Alive, what do you think about this?

I knew that the song was part of the movie, but you've just let me know that they also made a choreography for it! It's important to have sense of humor, except when we're talking about offensive things. I don't care if I'm criticized... as long as it doesn't involve my children.

When will you do a tour in France?

I'm really looking forward to that, it would be a great pleasure for me. I love your country. There's something in France that makes everything bigger: when we are in France, we eat more, we do more shopping... It's an extraordinary country. I don't think I'll have the time to do a tour anytime soon, but I'll come to visit you this autumn, I promise!

Is it just me or does she just answer the question with one sentense then go on talking about a totally different topic than what the question was about?? Something lost in translation?

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

An actual interview with Celine herself! Great to hear her talking about vocal coaching. And he asked her some good questions. Pity she didn't give more info about the direction of the album, it was a mixed answer but I think she meant that she is more focused on enjoying her family time to be worried about trying to change her musical style. Which is interesting considering all the rumours going around about the English album. But with Plamondon and Veneruso (who wrote many songs for her last few French albums) involved, it looks like, as expected, this French album will be very beautiful. (LeForestier, hd wrote Ten Days with DePalmas, didn't he?, I wonder will DePalmas also be involved somewhere)

Pity she didn't give positive vibes about touring in France, but I would love if she came. I'd go over just to do a bit of "Celine Stalking" for a few days. :giggle:
